Amazing trip to Akagera National Park

We took a day trip from Kigali for a safari at Akagera National Park. Our guide, Augustin, was early to pick us up at our hotel. He was kind, professional, and very knowledgeable! It was a lengthy trip, however we had the opportunity to see every animal you could ever expect to see on a safari. It was an incredible experience and we would highly recommend Augustin as a guide and 1000 Hills as a tour company.

Amazing tour! Akagera and gorilla trekking

I did the Akagera Park and the Gorilla trekking with 1000 hills and it was the best experience ever!! Totally recomended! The tour was fantastic, I had an amazing time and my guide Augustin was great! He was very friedly, knew a lot of everything and responded to all my questions! I had to change my tour a bit because I had to move my return ticket and 1000 hills helped me on everything, they even made sure I had time to get my PCR to return. I totally recommend it! It's a once in a life-time experience! Thank you to 1000 hills, to Augustin and to Leo!

So many animals, such a great day!

We had an excellent day today with Eve and 1000 hills! We were picked up on time and grabbed our packed lunch - one of us was vegetarian and this was no problem to accommodate. One we got to the park and started driving we saw so many of the animals - and more wonderful , many babies. I think we saw : crocodiles, hippos, giraffe, baboons, zebras, antelope and possibly the most exciting was a herd of elephants playing eating and playing by the waters edge. We didn’t see lions or rhinos but there are still only a few having been recently re-introduced and their numbers are still building. It really was such a wonderful day. Eve was a great responsible driver who was concerned both for our comfort and safety- and also the animals. Before the visit we had lots of communication from 1000 hills so we felt confident about the pick up time and what to expect. AMAZING!

Lake Kivu Cruise experience

This experience was so great, Our guide Augustin was the best and really went out of his way to make sure we had a great time. They really helped with recommendations for our stay at Lake Kivu and went out of their way to accommodate and changes that needed to be made. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity ! Amazing trip to the Akagera National park! Our great guide picked us up at the hotel precisely and drove us to the park. He had very much knowledge and had a good answer to all our questions. 1000 hills safari is a serious company with good customer care. 1000 percent recommended if you are going to Rwanda.

We took this tour with 1000 Hills Safaris LTD. It was a great program . The guide driver Augustine was a great tour guide and he had an in depth experience with the places we visited . He took good care of us during the entire tour. The vehicle they used was a comfortable SUV. He arrived at our hotel on time to pick us up. I would highly recommend this company as well as the tour guide Augustine to all my acquaintances. Great job!

Extremely poor quality. The trip was canceled in the last 2 hours. It was 2 o'clock in the middle of the night. How could it be rectified? Then I ordered through get your guide, and now I have to go through complicated procedures and may not receive a full refund of 316 USD. Then this 2-day trip was just for the orangutans. I spent money on air tickets and accommodation. It was just the hotel itself. In order to protect the bad reason of the itinerary, I didn’t even want to give it a star.

I’ll just start by saying I had the most funny and interesting tour guides! Mr Placide and Augustine. This was a last minute booking btw and 1000 hills tours and travels came through for me in the most amazing way! I had VIP treatment and learnt so much about Rwanda from Placide and Augustine. Definitely planning a proper tour with them next time. Thank you guys for an amazing day! Check them out.

1000 Hills Safaris allows you to make 2 free date changes, as long as the change is made at least 60 days before the start of the tour.
Transfer as credit for future tours

1000 Hills Safaris allows you to transfer existing payments to a future tour to avoid cancellation fees if you can't travel and inform 1000 Hills Safaris, 15 days before departure.
Low Deposit

1000 Hills Safaris requires a minimum deposit of 30% or the full booking value, whichever is less, with the final balance not due until 60 days before departure.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your tour, tourhub doesn't charge a cancellation fee, here is a summary of 1000 Hills Safaris charges.
