Climate change has been a hot topic recently. With countries holding up international meetings to combat climate change. Many countries have come up with carbon-neutral plans, among them, Nepal has foreseen to achieve zero carbon emission by 2050. Although Nepal has a low carbon footprint of 0.29 tons per year, its neighboring countries China emitting 10.2 billion metric tons, and India emitting 36.4 billion tons has threatened the climatic condition of the Himalayas. Due to high carbon emissions, the temperature has been rising at an alarming rate of 0.18°C per year. Scientists have warned that an increase of 1.5°C will increase 3°C in the Himalayas being near the equator. That increase will melt 99% of snow from the Himalayas directly affecting the ecosystem of the region. Following are some of the impacts being made by climate change in the Himalayas eco-system. Melting of mountains is causing flash floods in the hilly and terai regions The habitat of numerous aquatic life is deteriorating Many plant species are getting on the verge of extinction Reduction in agriculture production due to unpredictable weather Loss of forest area and biodiversity Drying water resources Risk to the tourism industry ....less

Champadevi Hiking trail is a 6 hours hiking trail on the southern foothills of Kathmandu. The trail along the 4Km ridge leads you to the popular Champadevi temple. In recent days this hiking trail got good popularity among Kathmandu dwellers. Suddenly, the area started getting spoiled with non-degradable waste made by the hikers. When our team of Save The Himalayas found the severity of pollution, a team of 5 volunteers was mobilized to clean the hiking trail. 2 volunteers from Ktmguide also joined the effort. On the cleaning campaign, the team collected around 10 Kgs of non-degradable plastic waste. The non-degradable plastics were then dumped on the public container in Pharping. The team met with local residents and discussed ways of protecting and promoting the environment of the region. The discussion concluded with an informal agreement to keep the trail clean by conducting the cleaning campaigns every 3 months while Mount Adventure Holidays assured to prioritize the Champadevi hiking trail on its marketing efforts. Mr. Pasang Sherpa, the founder of Save The Himalayas, told that their organization has a long-term vision to keep the trails, mountains, rivers, and valleys clean in Nepal. He said the organization will conduct a cleaning campaign in the Langtang valley during May 2022. With more cleaning campaigns in the major trekking trails of Nepal. If you want to volunteer with Save The Himalayas in minimizing the impact of tourism on the environment, please contact the organization. ....less

“It was my first time in Nepal for trekking, looked at the internet, and spotted Mount Adventure holidays. The reviews were pretty good and I decided to go for it. They have pick up to and from airport to hotel and the starting town Pokhara. I’m generally happy with the arrangement. As the trek started, I soon found out that the trek was harder than my expectation, but I’m the kind of person who likes to take some challenge, well.... show me what you’ve got Annapurna! The scenery of the WHOLE TRIP was unbeatable, I have to give a full mark for that! If I have more holidays I really want to do the whole Annapurna Circuit. Another plus will give to the guest houses the company is chosen, I think they were better than the typical mountain guest houses you can imagine. Finally, the guide is friendly, helpful, caring, and knowledgeable. I don’t have to worry about anything, he took care of the guest houses, the meals, the route, and the leeches (Lol.....if you happen to trek in rainy day). I did my trek in mid-September around the end of monsoon, I was very lucky to have a clear sky in most of the day including the day I went to Poon Hill for sunrise, yay! The trip definitely an experience I’ll never forget in my whole life.” I not only enjoyed the trek but also I learned new things about the people's culture and nature, But this time it was a short and sweet trek but next time I am going to do Annapurna Base Camp trek with the same company and guide.
Overall, this trip/trek was fantastic! Pasang, of Mount Holiday Adventures, is a fantastic guide and organizer. He made sure that we really enjoyed our trip and trek. He picked us up at the airport with a Nepalese welcome and made sure we liked out accommodation before departing. He then pick us up at the hotel the next morning, providing sleeping bags and jackets, and made sure we got checked in to our flight to Lukla. On return, he picked us up and treated us to dinner, prepared by his lovely wife, at his home. The next day, he toured us around Kathmandu and made sure we got to see all that we wanted. He then accompanied us to the airport on our final day. He went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our time. And spending time with his family was great. Also, he was in constant contact without guide, Nuru, while we were on the trek- making sure we were doing ok and changed the itinerary to fit our needs. We had a guide and a porter while on the trek. Both were great and spoke relatively good English, the guide more so than the Porter. The guide, Nuru, was excellent and made sure we had everything we needed along the way. He was very professional, approachable, motivating, and accommodating throughout the trek. Pasan, the porter, is super strong and took great care of our belongings (and has great dance moves). I would say that this trek is not for beginners, some parts are even more intermediate to hard (especially the trek from Phakding to Namche). Some things I wish I had known before the trek: food options and drink options are limited in the tea houses but taste great- also only one cup of tea or coffee is provided in the price; there is NO HEAT in any of the tea houses, bring layers and fill water bottles with boiling water to put in your sleeping bag; everything is chargeable in Nepal (especially on the trail, where it is more expensive than in Kathmandu)- it will cost you to take a hot shower, to have a towel after your shower, to charge your devices, to fill your bottle with boiling water, etc- make sure you have plenty of cash Nepalese Rupee; You will want to take advantage of the porter for hire; Helicopters back to Lukla (should you chose to fly back to Lukla instead of trek) are EXPENSIVE- 900 USD for a 10 minute ride; the original itinerary is a little unrealistic around day 4 or 5- to trek from Namche all the way back to Lukla in one day would be near impossible unless you are really experienced in trekking and in amazing physical condition- however, the itinerary can be changed by the guides to suit your needs; the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla is quite bumpy, as you are flying through the mountains; bring toilet paper, as there are hardly any western toilets along the trek; I should have prepared myself a bit more physically. Overall, I would do this trek again- maybe EBC next time- with the same people and company. The experience was one that I will never forget! If you are thinking about this trek, and are relatively adventurous and fit, go for it, you will not regret the experience. Bravo to Mount Adventure Holidays, TourRadar, Pasang, Nuru, and Pasan for a trip well planned and executed! Should I return to Nepal I will definitely use Mount Adventure Holidays to plan and meet my needs. And TourRadar will be my first option when planning future adventures.
At the end of 2018, I started to plan the Kanchenjunga Circuit North to South (22 days) as my next trek in Nepal – the 6th one after doing before, the Langtang, the Lower Mustang, the Annapurna Circuit, and twice the Everest Base Camp 3 passes. I did all those treks with my good friend Nachman – always without a guide, and only the last one with a porter. I scheduled the Kanchenjunga circuit for OCT 1, 2019, so I have plenty of time to study and plan the trek to the very details. Kanchenjunga Trek is defined by the Nepali authorities as a Restricted Area which can be done with a Licensed Guide! My first step in the plan was, to find a reliable Local operator to work with. I prepared a standard RFQ (Request for Proposal) that I sent to 20 selected companies. In the RFQ I asked for 3 services: A Guide, Porters and ground transportation (Jeep) - From Bhadarpur to Taplejung and back. I have stated clearly that the prerequisite is a previous proved experience with the Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek. After about two months of email back and forth and with 8 companies that were left as appropriate candidates I have decided to work with Pasang Sherpa the owner of Mount Adventures Holidays, who managed to provide the most “balanced” offer, and happen to be the most responsive via emails….usually, Pasang responds to Email, in details, within few hours or less – I liked it!!! Pasang choose Nima Sherpa to be our guide. Nima is from the Kanchenjunga Region well familiar with this trek, as he did it several times before. The same applies to one of the Porters who is also from the Kanchenjunga region. The combination of Pasang Sherpa, Nima Sherpa and the two Porters was a “Winning” combination!!! The professional organization, services, attitude, and concerns were far above any expectations I have. Thank you, Nima for leading us safely along the trek, for taking care of us and for being so considerate. Special thanks to Pasang Sherpa who managed the whole operation remotely. Thank you, Pasang for the wonderful team Guide and Porters. Please give my sincere appreciation and thanks to the porters who did a great Job with a smile! It was my honor to work with both of you – Pasang and Nima! If someone is looking for a professional and reliable company for trekking in challenging remote areas in Nepal – Mount Adventures Holidays with Pasang Sherpa and Nima Sherpa will be a perfect Choice !!

I had such a great experience and can highly recommend Mount Adventure Holidays Pvt.Ltd! Pasang and Gelu were both great! Pasang meet me at the airport, took me to my hotel, checked me in, and took me around Kathmandu for the day. Once I was up on the mountain Gelu took care of nearly everything for me. All the food, accommodation, etc he was my guild, my porter, my photographer, and now my lifelong friend! He even put up with my horrendous jokes for nearly 2 weeks. He has great knowledge of the area and he would not hesitate to go that extra mile to make sure I had the best time! Nepal is such a beautiful place the mountain ranges are amazing, the trek was hard but if you are reasonably fit you will be fine just take it nice a slow and I would probably recommend doing it in 14 days rather than the 11 days (only because we had to make it back down in 3 days). I did the trek on my own, just me and Gelu – I think it would have been nicer to do it in a group but if you are thinking of going and it’s just you don’t worry you’ll be fine there was always loads of people to meet along the way. I had never done anything like this before and asked Pasang a million questions before and after I had booked and he was always extremely helpful. Don’t forget to go out and look at the stars at night time they are truly spectacular! Mount Adventure Holidays thank you so much for making this once in a lifetime adventure so truly wonderful!
