Tour Overview

Everest Base Camp Trek is frequently mentioned as one of the world’s best hiking trails. The trek distance measures about 97 miles/156 km in 14 days and the remote trail route takes you to the base of the highest point on planet Earth, Mount Everest. Everest Base Camp Trek is a challenging, yet fulfilling hike in the famous Everest trail that initially started from Lukla through the banks of Dudh Koshi river. As you hike across a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the beautiful Sagarmatha National Park, you’ll reach the largest mountain town in Everest region, Namche Bazar. Then, come the tough part of adventurous journey, which take you to Everest Base Camp. Here you will spot the expeditions team setting their camp for an ascent to Mount Everest (mostly spring season) along with a spectacular view of the Himalayas, Khumbu Icefall and Khumbu Glacier. Afterwards, you can hike on Kalapathar at an elevation of 5,555 m for panoramic view of magnificent Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Cho yu, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and neighboring peaks. Then, you will make a return journey following the same trails back to the gateway to Everest, Lukla village. Trekkers in the Everest region will get a fascinating insight into unique Sherpa traditions, culture and their lifestyle. Plus, the raging rivers, narrow suspension bridges, mountain villages, diversified flora and fauna, sacred mani stones, Buddhist monasteries, colorful prayer flags, mountain ridges, lush forests filled with rhododendrons and conifers will not be forgotten easily. Amazing Experience - Highly Recommend!!!

29-Mar-2021

I cannot recommend Ace enough. Every aspect of this trip has been amazing. Not only the trek, but their assistance before, during, and after the trek was incredibly helpful (especially during COVID). From the first time I contacted them, they were extremely responsive and informative - they helped ensure that my wife and I had all the requirements to travel from the USA to Nepal with all the covid related restrictions/requirements in place. They even helped with accommodations for our extra nights in Kathmandu (outside of the 14 day trek), as well. My wife and I and were the only two trekkers on our trip. So it was us two, our guide Raj, and our porter Sauman. We were nervous going into this trek as we are pretty inexperienced. However, Raj and Sauman were extremely helpful and definitely helped us to reach our goal of making it to EBC. We couldn’t have done it on our own - their assistance, guidance, and entertainment were priceless. We truly had a great time with them and are so grateful for everything they did. They did everything they could to ensure we had everything we needed and that we were feeling good and thinking positive! The entire staff at Ace is so kind and willing to go out of their way to help their clients. Traveling from the USA to Nepal (and back) during COVID was not entirely easy. Ace made the process SO much better and smoother. Again, I don’t think my wife and I would’ve made it to EBC without the guidance and knowledge of Ace’s staff, especially Raj and Sauman. We are eternally grateful for everything they did making this the trip of a lifetime. We will never forget it!!

Better Than Imagined

29-Mar-2021

Trekking to Everest Base Camp with Ace The Himalaya was an experience of a lifetime. Every single aspect of the journey was managed to perfection. Upon arrival at the airport, our guide was waiting to pick us up. He took us to our hotel, got us settled, and informed us of our next steps. Before starting our trek, we met with the Operations Manager of Ace to discuss in detail the trek and what we should expect. She was extremely thorough and left us with every question we had answered. The trek itself was incredible. Our guide, Raj, and porter, Sauman, were the best. They were funny, knowledgeable, and were an absolute pleasure to trek with. They made sure we had everything was just right and went above and beyond to make sure our every need was met. If you get the pleasure to trek with Raj and Sauman you will have one of the best experiences of your life. After the trek was completed we had a post-meeting with the Operations Manager to discuss how the trek went. Ace even helped us set up transportation to and from the hospital to get a PCR COVID test needed to depart for our home country 5 days AFTER our trek was completed. I highly highly recommend Ace The Himalaya if you want a trek to Everest Base Camp that will leave you with an experience that was better than you could have ever imagined.

Trekking to Base Camp during the Pandemic

13-Jan-2021

I completed this trek with Ace in December. During COVID! And I sort of booked it at the last minute too. Everything about the experience was fantastic. From the second I first reached out about going on a trek, Ace was extremely responsive and helpful. They were especially great in helping me figure out and organize all of the logistics around COVID. They continued to be super helpful and diligent when I arrived in Nepal. It was so nice not to have to worry about securing my own transportation to the hotel, to the COVID test or to the airports. The trek itself was also incredible. Basically as soon as we started hiking I thought to myself "this is already one of the best experiences of my life". Because of COVID (and also because I went in December), the route was practically empty. I ran into only a handful of other tourists the entire time. It was pretty incredible to feel like I had the trail to myself. Because the trail (and also the guesthouses) were so empty, I felt extremely safe and comfortable from a COVID perspective. To be honest, I basically forgot that COVID existed the entire time I was trekking. My guide and porter, Milan and Soman, were also just the best. They made me feel like I was hiking with friends.

One of best trips you'll ever take!

23-Oct-2021

This was truly a trip of a lifetime! I'd recommend this trek for anyone who is in relatively good physical shape. This is not a luxury experience. You need to be willing to get dirty and do the work but the payoff is beyond compare. Three of us did this trek in October'21. Nepal had just re-opened for outsiders and the trails were pretty empty. It added even more to the experience that the trails and villages were so lightly traveled. Here are a few observations: - Ace the Homalaya is a great local trekking outfit. The central office team led by Sajiya was super informative and helpful. They must have answered 100s of questions before we ever landed. It's great to support a local company. From the time we landed in Nepal until the time we flew home, Ace had us covered. I would contract with them again without hesitation. - A great guide is critical to your experience. Our guide was Pasang Dawa Sherpa, and he was tremendous. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable about everything on the trial, but he also learned about us and tailored the experiences accordingly. If you have the opportunity to work with Pasang you won't be disappointed! Along with Pasang, we had two great porters, Garba and Gombu, both of whom were reliable and great guys. - Prepare for all kinds of weather. While we had mostly sunshine, the day after we left, it snowed a few feet. On the mountain the weather can change at any time and you need to be prepared. - Make sure to give yourself a travel buffer. The flights in and out of Lukla get canceled all the time. After two days of waiting for a flight we paid for a helicopter to fly to Lukla. These are very expensive and you have to decide whether you're willing to pay or wait. Our return flight from Lukla was on time but all flights after ours were canceled for the next few days. Plan for delays and then be pleasantly surprised when things run on time! - Take a lot of pictures. You'll never be in a more special place than Nepal. The people are super friendly and the landscape is simply stunning.

EBC trek of a lifetime!

31-Mar-2021

This is my first time trekking, no experience. Mr Pasang Dawa Sherpa was helpful and an amazing guide. What really stood out for me was his caring attitude he had when I had no more energy to walk. I felt extremely protected and cared for. Mr Pasang Dawa Sherpa is an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and experienced guide. I would trust him with my life any day. Special shout out to my “buddy” and porter Mr. Gharva Rai, thank you so much for the boost. Both gentlemen were very accommodating and encouraging on the trek. As a solo female trekker I have never felt more safe in my life. Both gentlemen has become part of my family, Love you guy’s! Accommodation and food were excellent. Never drank so much black tea in my life. Ace The Himalaya is a very welcoming company. Organized itinerary and very affordable. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Highly recommending this awesome company.
