Day 1 : Arrive In Inverness
Location: Inverness
Accommodation: Hotel
Meals Included: Dinner

Arrive in Inverness ready to check in to your hotel. If you require transfers from the airport or train station, please do contact us to make arrangements prior to travelling.

Relax for the afternoon and explore Inverness, best known around the world for being the hub of the Highlands as well as the closest city to Loch Ness, famously the home of the Loch Ness monster.

Your welcome meeting will take place this evening followed by dinner for you and your group. How better to get to know each other and your tour leader than while enjoying locally-produced food and a few beers produced in the brewery onsite, one of the lowest carbon breweries in the country.

Day 2 : Reach New Heights
Location: Loch Ness, Arisaig
Accommodation: Hotel
Meals Included: Breakfast

This morning we leave the city behind to venture along the shores of Loch Ness, heading into the wild and rugged Scottish Highlands. It's time to reach new heights, testing yourself both mentally and physically as you kick start your adventure with a rock climbing and abseiling experience.

Under the guidance of your climbing instructor, you will get kitted up with your harness and helmet, ready to learn the basics of climbing out on a real rock face. Develop your confidence as you learn to read the rock, identifying where to place your hands and feet as you climb upwards.

What goes up must come down! Lean back into it and leave your fears behind as you abseil back to the ground below. Land with a new feeling of achievement, knowing you conquered the rock face and you’re ready to take on the rest of this incredible adventure holiday.

Journey on: We’ll continue our journey to arrive at your destination for tonight, the beautiful coastal town of Arisaig.

Day 3 : Take To The Water
Location: Arisaig
Accommodation: Hotel
Meals Included: Breakfast

Get ready to explore Arisaig in the best way possible - aboard a sea kayak. You’d be forgiven for mistaking these white sand beaches and crystal clear waters for a Caribbean island. Arisaig Bay is protected by hundreds of small tidal islands called skerries, and an ideal place to head out onto the water to enjoy a totally different perspective of west Scotland’s islands as you glide across the water.

Arisaig is the destination for kayaking, with this iconic beach teaming with native wildlife such as harbour seals, common dolphins, porpoises, otters, and white-tailed eagles – as well as various sea birds and amazing underwater ecosystems with kelp, starfish, and jellyfish galore.

Time to relax: Wind down from your day of paddling the Scottish Caribbean back at your hotel in Arisaig for another night with a famous west coast sunset.

Day 4 : Lace Up Those Boots!
Location: Ben Nevis, Oban
Accommodation: Hotel
Meals Included: Breakfast

You’ll be collected from your hotel early this morning for a transfer to the base of Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the UK at 1,345 metres! Once a massive active volcano which exploded and collapsed inwards on itself millions of years ago, you’ll find evidence of an explosion at the summit in the form of light-coloured granite, unless the summit is still covered in snow!

Lunch with a view: Be sure to appreciate the views on the way up, with the iconic Scottish highlands in the surrounding landscape. After a tough ascent, we’ll find a sheltered spot on the descent for lunch – what better backdrop for a bite to eat!

Put your feet up: After your tough but rewarding hike, you’ll be collected for your onward journey to Oban. Check into your hotel and enjoy a well earned rest this evening.

Day 5 : The Sound Of Kerrera
Location: Oban
Accommodation: Hotel
Meals Included: Breakfast

Your morning starts with a stroll along the picturesque coast as you make your way from the hotel to your paddle boarding session on The Sound of Kerrera. Take a deep breath as you glide across the water and absorb your tranquil surroundings on this stunning coastline. An abundance of wildlife can be found in the area and, in the summer months, you may even come across a basking shark or two.

Ocean appreciation: After your paddle boarding session, you and your fellow adventurers can choose to take part in a voluntary beach clean, an opportunity to give back to this beautiful area. Afterwards we’ll take a stroll back along the coast to spend some free time discovering Oban, the seafood capital of Scotland.

Day 6 : Into The Wild
Location: Inveraray
Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

Your free spirited adventure in the wilds of West Scotland's rugged landscape begins as you arrive in Inveraray and meet with your local guide for the next 24 hours. A Mountain Leader based in the Highlands, Monica relocated here to live out her passion for hiking, camping & cooking in wild places, inspiring delicious, sustainable adventures.

Explore: With a huge collection of neolithic sites nearby, you’ll enjoy a fascinating guided hike through the rich heritage of this region. As we venture through the incredible scenery, Monica will share her passion for foraging seasonal wild plants, learning about their nutritious and healing properties. Set in the heart of the Argyll Estate, this is also the perfect place to meet and talk with the local characters responsible for the vital land management that helps to keep the area so special.

Gather with friends: Tonight you will experience true Scottish hospitality as Monica welcomes you into her traditional cottage for the night. Cement the new friendships you’ve formed this week, as together you cook a locally-sourced evening meal over an open fire. Share stories and reflect on your week of adventure, hanging out under the stars with your fellow travellers before we settle down for the night.

Day 7 : Falls Of Falloch
Location: Falls Of Falloch, Glasgow
Accommodation: Hotel
Meals Included: Breakfast

Enjoy a hearty breakfast with Monica before saying your goodbyes and leaving this rural wilderness behind. As we set off toward the city of Glasgow, we’ll pause to marvel at the Falls of Falloch in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.

City comforts: On arrival in Glasgow, check in to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the afternoon to explore at your leisure. Perhaps walk along the city centre mural trail to see the impressive street art or sample some Scottish whisky at one of the city’s distilleries, before enjoying a free evening in the big city lights.

Day 8 : Last Morning
Location: Glasgow
Meals Included: Breakfast

It’s the last morning of your epic adventure holiday in Scotland, so it’s time to pack your case and swap details with your new travel buddies. If you’d like to plan to stay longer, speak to our team about adding extra nights to the beginning or end of your adventure!

A brilliant weekend in Wales hill running! Was apprehensive as I am the wrong side of 60 but Tim was an excellent coach and full of useful information and tips on techniques and nutrition. The hotel was excellent and the weather played it’s part! I would recommend this trip to others.

I went on the surf/ yoga retreat in wales and it was the most refreshing and adventurous break I’ve had in a long time! We had an amazing host- Sarah who took care of us the whole trip. She was so personable and made us all feel very relaxed! The surf instructor Don was fabulous who took the time to help us battle the waves and the yoga instructor Remi was equally as great. It was a perfect balance of activity/ relaxation. St.David’s is also a lovely little place. The hotel was lovely, especially the breakfast:) I would definitely recommend this trip and will be booking with them again in the future! Thank you so much team!!

My second private trail running weekend with Adventure Tours. This time we were a group of six. Another brilliant experience of fantastic hill running, great organisation and accommodation. Particular mention for our running guide, Tim for his expertise, support and unfailing patience, with great advice to take home and put into practice. We had a lot of fun on the ups and the downs. Hoping to do it all again next year!
