Day 1 : Kilimanjaro International Airport To Arusha

Arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by one of our experienced driver guides, ready to greet and escort you to Arusha and your chosen hotel. He will introduce you to this wonderful city and country. Welcome to Arusha and welcome to Tanzania!

Day 2 : Flight From Arusha To Grumeti, Western Serengeti

After a relaxed breakfast, we head for the airport in Arusha where we will catch our mid-morning flight to Grumeti to begin our safari adventure in the Western plains of the Serengeti. On arrival, you are transferred to your lodge to enjoy a hot meal before embarking on an afternoon game drive in the area.

With the help of your expert driver-guide, you will soon discover the delights of the western area of the iconic Serengeti National Park.

In the evening, it’s back to your lodge for some much-needed rest, dinner and overnight.

Day 3 : Western Serengeti

West of Seronera, the waters of the Grumeti and Mbalageti rivers ensure that this so-called ‘Western Corridor’ is damper and more dense in vegetation than you will find on the more southerly plains of the Serengeti. Imagine a mix of woodland and open grassland.

Here, visitors can expect good game-viewing throughout the year, but from late May and throughout June it is usual for the Great Migration to traverse the Western Corridor. Of course, this depends on the timing of the rains, but in any event there are lion, giraffe and elephant resident in the region south of the Grumeti. Your driver-guide will help you to spot these, as well as the populations of wildebeest and zebra.

At day’s end, your accommodation awaits you. With the sights and sounds still fresh in your consciousness, it’s time to dine and then sleep..

Day 4 : Western Serengeti To Central Serengeti

Before leaving the Western Serengeti, we take the opportunity this morning to enjoy another game drive in this incredible location. This allows us further time to wonder at the migratory herds and the dangers and challenges they face each year in their battle for survival.

As well as the herd animals, you can perhaps see a hippopotamus – or up in the skies, a majestic martial eagle. As well as the migrating animals, this area also has a good population of resident wildlife, so you won’t be disappointed. In the afternoon, we take the short drive back to the central part of Serengeti, where you will be taken to your chosen accommodation for relaxation and your evening meal.

Day 5 : Serengeti National Park

Waking up in the Serengeti is something really special. Sights, sounds and smells of Africa are all around us, and ahead is a full day of adventure in the world’s most famous national park. After breakfast, we start today with the morning section of our game drive in Serengeti National Park, marvelling at the stunning scenery, ever changing light and always entertaining wildlife, all explained to you by your expert driver-guide.

After our picnic lunch, we set off again, searching for wildlife in this awe-inspiring park. Serengeti’s wonders evolve subtly as the day progresses. The myriad animals and birds are the ‘stars of the show’ and Nature’s dramas can unfold at any time. Of course, the animals don’t work to any schedule, so we may find lion or leopard, elephant and zebra, cheetah and antelope at any time on our drives. At the end of the afternoon, we return to the lodge for dinner and some much needed rest.

Day 6 : Serengeti To Ngorongoro Crater

Location: Ngorongoro Crater

In the morning depart with picnic-lunch to Ngorongoro Crater. Descent into the Crater to view game on the vast grasslands of the crater-floor. Spectacular animal life can be found throughout the year due to the permanent availability of grass and water. Local wildlife includes black manned lion, the highly endangered black rhino, wildebeest, zebra, elephant, hippo, jackal and hyena. In the afternoon continue to Karatu.

Day 7 : Kwaheri (Departure Swahili)

Location: Kilimanjaro International Airport

Accommodation: Not included

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast guided farm walk with an introduction to the cultivation of coffee. Return with picnic-lunch to Arusha with arrival in the early afternoon.

Drop-off Arusha airport or Kilimanjaro Airport.

We had an amazing 7 day safari with Alaitol at the recommendation of a friend. Our driver/guide Baraza was incredibly knowledable about the land & wildlife, had a great attitude, and was a skilled driver. I point out the later because we went during the start of the rainy season and the roads were quite treacherous in some areas but he was able to navigate them with ease and safely. We got to see some incredible animals & observe the start of the migration from the Western Corridor to the Centaral Serengeti . The accomodations, food and service were all top notch. Alaitol was a pleasure to work with. I recommend them without hesistation.

Alaitol Safaris was reasonable for us to get to and from our hotel before our Safari and transfer us to and from airports. They were reliable and friendly and I always felt very safe in their hands. We had a long wait for our flight out at night and they were able to secure us a day room at the Gran Melia Arusha so we would could get some rest.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Alaitol Safaris. Our guide and driver Musa, was outstanding. He was professional in his friendliness, driving, knowledge and was a pleasure to spend our time in Tanzania with. We were with him for the duration of our 7-day safari, (including our Ruby Wedding Anniversary), and he gave us a safari to remember! We asked lots of questions regarding the animals, birds and plants and he answered them with both knowledge and enthusiasm. He versed us on the history of the area and many other interesting facts. We traveled many miles and felt safe and secure at all times. He made our holiday perfect. These memories will stay with us forever!

We went with our 9-year-old son to Tanzania and Alaitol Safaris was the local operator. Our guide Onesmo was excellent throughout and on all aspects of the trip: good and skillful driving, very good animal spotting, taking care of us for everything, also at the rythm of a 9 year old. He was really our "master" in the parks but also on the roads in between and in the villages. Onesmo was our hero and the 7 day trip unforgettable Thank you Onesmo and thank you Alaitol Safaris.

We used Alaitol Safaris as our Tanzanian guide as part of a much kart trip through serengeti and ngorongoro crater. Our guide Fred was exceptional. There was nothing he did not know about the animals and he was so friendly. Even when things did not go exactly according to the plan (as happens on safari) he took it in his stride. One small criticism is the lack of equipment in the vehicle in case of bogging. This was needed on our trip. I would suggest consideration for ramps in each vehicle. All in all highly recommended
