Following a satisfying breakfast, we will set out to explore the iconic Pyramids and Sphinx, led by our knowledgeable guide. As we arrive at the magnificent Giza Pyramid plateau, the grandeur of the Cheops, Chefren, and Mykerinos tombs will leave us in awe. These ageless structures stand as a testament to the ancient world, while the enigmatic Sphinx watches over us, a mysterious guardian of history.
Our journey will then take us to the renowned Egyptian Museum, a captivating space that houses an extensive collection of over 50,000 artifacts. If the eagerly awaited Grand Egyptian Museum is accessible to the public, we will have the privilege of delving into its impressive collection, including the personal possessions of the esteemed Golden King Tutankhamun.
Please take note that the official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum is scheduled for 2023, and there may be additional charges for entrance fees. In the event that it is not open during your visit, rest assured that we will instead visit the Egyptian National Museum. Here, we can explore the fascinating tapestry of the Pharaonic eras. An exhibition dedicated to the legendary Tutankhamun awaits, showcasing his extraordinary treasures.

Today, brace yourself for an exceptional expedition in Cairo, transcending the limits of conventional guidebooks. Our day commences early as we dive into the enchanting aura of Old Islamic Cairo. By 7 am, we'll find ourselves on the ancient streets of Cairo, a place rich in historical significance spanning centuries. These serene morning hours present a unique opportunity to explore Islamic mosques in tranquility, far removed from the later crowds that flood the streets.
Guided by local experts, we'll unveil hidden treasures and access exclusive sites not typically available to regular tourists during the bustling daytime. After this enlightening adventure, we'll indulge in a traditional Egyptian breakfast, savoring the delectable flavors of fried potatoes, falafel, ful, fried eggs, tahini, and freshly baked pita bread. Accompanied by fragrant tea or coffee, this delightful meal will perfectly set the tone for our visit to the Khan El Khalili Bazaar.
Following this exceptional experience on Cairo's oldest street, our journey takes us to Sekem Eco Village. Today is dedicated to immersing ourselves in nature and discovering the remarkable SEKEM community. Upon checking out of our hotel, a brief journey will transport us to the SEKEM community, a mere 60 km from Cairo. As we arrive, we'll be embraced by a world of vibrant flowers and lush trees, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere.
Since its inception in 1977, the SEKEM project has performed wonders, transforming a barren desert into a flourishing community. This remarkable initiative has rejuvenated an area once lacking in roads, water, and infrastructure. Through their efforts in organic farming and reforestation, SEKEM supports farmers in adopting sustainable agricultural practices, reducing carbon emissions, and fostering a healthier environment.
Led by an experienced guide, we'll have the privilege of exploring the fields, factories, schools, training centers, and healthcare facilities within the SEKEM community. This provides valuable insights into their innovative approach to sustainable living and allows us to witness the positive impact they exert on the environment and local communities.
Our presence in the SEKEM community also contributes to the support of the Egyptian Organic Agriculture Association. With a membership exceeding 45,000 organic farmers, this association plays a crucial role in promoting organic farming practices and nurturing a healthier agricultural industry in Egypt.
Recognizing the inescapable environmental impact associated with travel, we've proactively implemented strategies to mitigate emissions connected to our cruises and other expedition components (with the exception of air travel). We want to assure you that you'll receive a certificate from a representative of the Egyptian Organic Agriculture Association, confirming that we've successfully offset the emissions generated by your Nile cruise and other activities, thereby contributing to a more environmentally balanced journey.

Indulge in a delightful lunch, thoughtfully crafted from organic ingredients, and savor it at the community restaurant, where everyone is treated as equals, regardless of their roles as owners, management, or staff. Once you've savored this satisfying meal, take some time to explore the community shop, offering a range of items, including bags, t-shirts, and children's clothing, all made from organic cotton. Additionally, the shop proudly displays handmade crafts and delectable food products. An important note: a significant 80% of the community's products are exported, greatly improving the quality of life for its members.
Later, you'll head to the Al Shokhna Resort, only 130 km away from Cairo, situated directly on the Red Sea near the Suez Canal. Upon arriving in Al Sokhna, you will check in to your hotel, Movenpick Resort.
