The temple at Kom Ombo was also built at this time, under Ptolemy VI. Since this bend in the Nile was a favoured spot for crocodiles to bask in the sun and threaten locals, it is natural that the temple would be dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile god. But it is unusual in having a double dedication: it also honors Haroeris, a form of the falcon-headed god Horus. The hypostyle halls were added under Ptolemy XIII (51-47 BC); the Roman emperor Trajan (53-117 AD) added the forecourt and outer enclosure walls, Sail to Edfu, Dinner on boar, Visit the majestic temple dedicated to Horus. The official name of the site was The Great and Majestic Necropolis of the Millions of Years of the Pharaoh, Life, Strength, Health in The West of Thebes, or more usually, the Great Field. The most famous tomb is KV62, the Tomb of King Tutankhamun. The discovery of King Tut’s tomb was made by Howard Carter in 1922; Tutankhamun’s tomb was the first royal tomb to be discovered that was still largely intact. You will visit 3 tombs, You will continue to explore then transfer to the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir El Bahary, Queen Hatshepsut was the first great woman in recorded history: the forerunner of such figures as Cleopatra, Catherine the Great and Elizabeth I.The Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut is the focal point of the Deir El-Bahri complex of mortuary temples and tombs located on the west bank of the Nile, opposite the city of Luxor. Hatshepsut was a female pharaoh. Her temple, this temple was built on three surfaces take the form of balconies, devoted primarily to the worship of the god Amun, and to perform funeral rites for the queen known as El Deir El Bahary
And Proceed to the two colossal statues of Amenhotep III, Colossi of Memnon are the two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. For 3,400 years they have sat in the Theban necropolis, across the River Nile from the city of Luxor. The original function of the Colossi was to stand guard at the entrance to Amenhotep’s memorial temple or mortuary temple.Excursion to the Temples of Thebes, on the Eastern bank. Crossing the Nile, You will continue to explore then transfer The Karnak Temple, the largest place of worship ever built. In Ancient Egypt, the power of the god Amun of Thebes gradually increased during the early New Kingdom, and after the short persecution led by Akhenaten, it rose to its apex. In the reign of Ramesses III, more than two thirds of the property owned by the temples belonged to Amun, evidenced by the stupendous buildings at Karnak. Although badly ruined, no site in Egypt is more impressive than Karnak. It is the largest temple complex ever built by man, and represents the combined achievement of many generations of ancient builders. The Temple of Karnak is actually three main temples, smaller enclosed temples, and several outer temples located about three kilometers north of Luxor, Egypt situated on 100 ha (247 acres) of land. great tour with Ancient Egypt Tours

13-Jul-2021

I had a great tour with Travel Talk. The itinerary included many of the main historical ancient sites, and our guide Adham was very knowledgeable and informative. It was a rough schedule but definitely worth it as it would have been far more difficult to arrange for transport from place to place independently. The optional hot air balloon ride was incredible and Abu Simbel was the highlight of the tour. I only wish there was a bit more time to wonder around to get a taste of everyday life in Egypt, and I wish they explained a bit more about modern-day Egypt too.

great time.

13-Jul-2021

I definitely recommend the tour. You meet a lot of people from all over the world and have a great time. Mo our guide for the tour was exceptional. He was a highlight for the trip. The sites you see are great. Just beware that the extra expenses not included are very pricey at times. The meals were definitely way too expensive in comparison to what you'd pay for normal meals in Egypt. I didn't enjoy them rushing us from one site to take us to an art shop or some other sales shop where they try to sell us various souvenirs. I would have rather had more time at the temples. But I guess the tour company has various deals worked out to include the sales pitches in our itinerary. The bus could have been better. It was comfortable for the shorter travel times but sleeping on it was horrible and we all had neck aches afterwards. The accommodation was fair. Wasn't great but wasn't bad either. I wouldn't consider either of the hotels 5 stars, or at least the rooms they give us are more a 4 star than a 5 star. The 4 star Oasis hotel is more like a 3 star. Regardless of the negative parts, I had a great time and would likely use the travel company again. I just wish they included a bit more in their prices as I constantly felt that they were adding extra expenses (presumably so the initial fee is as low as possible). So don't be fooled by the low initial price. This tour is likely as expensive as every other tour company. Just want to reiterate that Mo was great and had a lot of knowledge on ancient Egypt that he wasn't afraid to share with us. Best tour guide I've ever had.

great time.

Fantastic experience and great tour

13-Jul-2021

Fantastic experience and great tour. Would definitely recommend it! Very well organised. There were some late nights and early mornings if you decide to do the extras but worth it. We couldn't ask for a better tour guide (Adham) to take us trough the memories of this great ancient civilisation. The felucca it s definitely something you should google before booking as it s pretty basic.

Fantastic experience and great tour

Loved this tour

13-Jul-2021

Loved this tour! I have recommended this to so many of my friends already who were thinking of visiting Egypt. The reason I recommend it so highly is because of Mo! Here’s a couple of dot points as to why: - organised and super professional - his knowledge of Egyptian history was so impressive - he went above and beyond to ensure the whole tour was enjoying their time. Even when a few of us got sick he was checking on us and helped us out with ensuring we had the right medication to make us better - very friendly, kind and approachable - his English is amazing I have never had a tour guide like Mo before, he is a very valuable asset to your team at travel talk and it is because of him I’m recommending your brand and also planning my next travel talk tour. My last point on overall feedback on the tour, I’d say out of all the beautiful accomodation we stayed at The Oasis was probably the most poor, especially when it came to their food. Another lot of feedback would be to promote the option of flying from Dahab back to Cairo. You’d probably find if people knew they could fly to/from Dahab they would definitely choose that option. 13 hour bus rides are not fun.
