Every year, the Monarch butterflies perform one of the most amazing and awe-inspiring migrations, flying from the cold winter in Canada and into the milder climate in Mexico. This nature oriented tour allows you to visit two different reserves to witness the migration, while staying near the lake in Valle de Bravo.

Day 1 : Waterfall And Valle De Bravo
Location: Mexico City, Valle de Bravo

At the designated time, depart Mexico City towards Valle de Bravo, a small mountain town on the shore of a lake.
Upon arrival, we will visit the Velo de Novia waterfall, a beautiful scenery inviting you to get closer to nature and have a meal (not included) enjoying the beautiful vistas.
After checking in at the hotel, the rest of the evening is free.
Day 2 : Piedra Herrada Sanctuary
Location: Santuario Piedra Herrada, Monarch Butterflies Sanctuary, Temascaltepec, Valle de Bravo

We will have an early breakfast today, to then make our way east to the Piedra Herrada natural sanctuary; making a visit early and on a weekday will help us beat the crowds coming from neighbouring cities.
Upon arrival, we will park the van, hire a local guide and horses that will carry us through the forest, with great views and cool weather, until we reach the sanctuary.
At the sanctuary, and along the way, the guide will explain about the Monarch Butterfly and its great voyage, coming south from Canada and into the milder climate of central Mexico. After spending some time at the sanctuary, we will head back into Valle de Bravo.
Day 3 : El Capulin Sanctuary
Location: Parador Turistico El Capulín Santuario de la Mariposa Monarca, Valle de Bravo

Same as yesterday, we aim today to leave the hotel early, to make our way to El Capulin, our next sanctuary visit.
Getting there early and in weekday helps us avoid the big crowds coming from cities, and allows us to visit more peacefully the beautiful sanctuary.
After an aprox 4km (2mi) walk, we will reach the forest the monarch butterflies have chosen to rest from their long journey. We will spend some time here watching and photographing the butterflies.
Following our stay at the forest, we will head back to Valle de Bravo.
Day 4 : Toluca And Mexico City
Location: Toluca, Mexico City
Meals Included: Breakfast
After breakfast at the hotel we will start our journey back to Mexico City, as our journey nears its end.
On the way back, we will have a stop in the city of Toluca, where besides taking a break from the drive, we will visit the botanical garden, along with its Cosmovitral, one of the biggest stained glass installations of the world.
After a visit and lunch (not included), we will head back to Mexico City.
