Guatemala, internationally known as “the country of eternal spring”, has a great cultural, social and natural diversity, a combination of which makes it one of the most beautiful countries in Latin America. This 12-day trip will immerse you into the most iconic and magical places of Guatemala such as they are: - Atitlán and its beautiful lake, considered the one of the most beautiful in the world according to National Geographic. This lake is surrounded by Mayan villages, each with a unique sense of life and distinct personalities. You will also visit Antigua Guatemala, one of the favourite destinations of all visitors. This is definitely a place not to be missed. You will also visit the towns that surround the colonial city of Antigua Guatemala, such as San Juan el Obispo, San Antonio Aguas Calientes and Ciudad Vieja. Finally, you will move to the vast area of Petén Department, known as the cradle of the Mayan Empire. There you will visit the two most important and magical Mayan cities, Tikal and Yaxhá, surrounded by fauna, nature and a lot of history.

Day 1 : Guatemala City
Location: Guatemala City Metropolitan Area

You will check in at your hotel in Guatemala City. This city is the largest and most developed in Central America, with high buildings in its hotel and executive zone, where you will be staying. We will rest this day at the hotel, as the next day we will move to Atitlán where we'll begin the programmed activities.
Day 2 : Atitlán, Sololá Department
Location: Panajachel, San Marcos La Laguna, Guatemala City Metropolitan Area

We will begin our tour by heading to Panajachel, Atitlán. Here we will find Lake Atitlán, considered one of the most beautiful in the world. It reaches a total of 130 square kilometres of water body, and is surrounded by 3 volcanoes, as well as several Mayan (indigenous) villages, each with its unique personality and different ways of living.
Being surrounded by 12 different villages is one of the reasons why you can find a lot of culture here, as well as a wide variety of different ecological activities. Upon arrival, we will have our welcome lunch and in the afternoon we will move on to San Marcos, a beautiful little town known for its yoga and vegan practices. After a short walk we will arrive at Tzankujil Park, where if you wish, you can jump from a 7-meter-high wooden platform into the clear waters of the lake. Don't forget to bring your swimsuit.
Day 3 : Villages Tour Around Lake Atitlán

We will start the day with a relaxing and stimulating activity: paddle-boarding in Lake Atitlán. During the afternoon you'll participate in our Villages Tour in which you will visit 4 iconic villages surrounding the beautiful lake, each with its own distinct personality and culture. We will then visit San Juan, San Pedro, Santiago. To get there we will use a boat that will take us from one end of the lake to the other, enjoying the beautiful views of the volcanoes. We will learn about the life and traditions of each town, full of narrow streets, street vendors and the traditional and colourful tuc-tucs, used by the locals for transportation.
Day 4 : Sololá, Cerro Las Minas (Las Minas Hill)

We will get up very early in the morning to appreciate one of the most amazing sunrises in the country: a panoramic view that includes the lake, the villages and the volcanoes. We will move from Panajachel to Cerro Las Minas, a beautiful mountain located in one of the villages surrounding Sololá. In this place we can find a social project, which aids children and women from all over the region. Part of your contribution helps this project to keep growing. One of the volunteers will take us through a wooded path, showing us different points of the mountain that the locals use as altars for Mayan ceremonies. The hike will culminate when we reach the highest point, where we will be able to see the lake and the highest volcano in this region, Atitlán Volcano. Definitely a sight to see! On the way back we will have a surprise activity where we will refresh ourselves in the lake.
Day 5 : Antigua Guatemala Walking Tour
Location: Antigua Guatemala, Panajachel

We will say goodbye to Atitlán and continue our journey towards the beautiful colonial city of Antigua Guatemala. In the afternoon you will take a walking tour around the city, where you will learn about the ruins, temples, Antigua's culture and traditions, as well as enjoy a delicious lunch where you can taste the local gastronomy. Commonly known as one of the most beautiful colonial cities, Antigua Guatemala has been the main attraction for travellers of all ages. The city is full of cobblestone streets, colourful facades and beautiful buildings, where you can find the influence of various architectural styles such as Renaissance and Baroque, among others. Antigua is also surrounded by 3 volcanoes, which provide its visitors with amazing landscapes. Here you can also find a lot of culture, active commerce and a wide variety of restaurants and nightlife experiences for all ages and tastes. UNESCO declared the city a cultural heritage site in 1979.
Day 6 : Villages Tour Around Antigua Guatemala

On this day we will visit the towns that are located on the outskirts of Antigua: we will drive to the top of the famous lookout point of Cerro de la Cruz, where we will enjoy one of the best views of the colonial city and the Agua Volcano. Then we will go to San Juan El Obispo —famous for its agricultural practices—; San Antonio Aguas Calientes —where we will enter the handcrafts market and if you wish you can buy souvenirs of your trip—; we will cross and see Ciudad Vieja from our vehicle, the city that was destroyed by the activity of the Agua Volcano in 1541; we will also visit a land dedicated to the cultivation and processing of macadamia. We will finish the day off with a visit to a Chocolate Museum for all lovers of desserts and local gastronomy.
Day 7 : Free Day In Antigua Guatemala

Our seventh day, will be free for you to enjoy and discover what Antigua Guatemala has to offer. Walk down its cobblestone streets, visit the local trading outlets, enjoy the colonial terraces accompanied by a delicious regional coffee and a sweet dessert. Relax on the benches in the central plaza or walk down Santa Catalina Arch Street, full of life and local movement. Visit the churches or museums full of history.

Day 8 : Isla De Flores (Flores Island) In Petén Department

We will start our last day in Antigua Guatemala by visiting the stunning Finca Filadelfia, where you will get a closer look at the cultivation and processing of coffee. The coffee from the Antigua area is very famous all over the world and you will get to experience a freshly-made cup of locally-produced coffee here.
Then we will transfer to La Aurora International Airport to fly directly to Petén, the cradle of the Mayan civilization. Here you will arrive at the beautiful Island of Flores, where you will be staying, so you can rest and prepare for the Mayan adventures that you will participate in during the next days.
Day 9 : Yaxhá
Location: Yaxha National Park, Flores Island (Guatemala)

We will wake up on the mystical island of Flores, where we will have time to relax in the morning. Then we will head to the third largest Mayan city in the region, Yaxhá, located approximately one hour by bus from the island. Here we will have a guided tour where we will learn about the history of the ancient city of Yaxhá and we will be able to visit the temples of this astronomical city. Its incredible buildings, made up of triads, provide a panoramic view that takes you back to the Classic period, where this city had its greatest splendour. We will finish the tour contemplating the sunset over Temple 216 and its magnificent view of Lake Yaxhá.
Day 10 : Tikal
Location: Tikal, Flores Island (Guatemala)

On the tenth day of your trip, you will wake up very early in the morning to arrive in Tikal just in time to see the sunrise. This is one of the most incredible experiences you can have in Guatemala according to the opinion of tourists. Tikal is the most emblematic Mayan city in the region and its park stretches up to 576 square kilometres. Tikal has also been declared a National Monument and Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. After appreciating the magical sunrise and the awakening of the wildlife from atop Temple IV, the highest point of the city, we will begin our guided tour during which we will learn more about the secrets of the Mayan Civilization.
