Guided tour of Sofia, capital of Bulgaria, along the university of St Kliment Ohridski and the National Library, Cathedral of Alexander Nevski, Parliament, Russian church of St Nikolay with characteristic architecture, church of St Sofia, National Art Gallery, St George Rotunda, National Theatre Ivan Vazov.
In the afternoon, visit of the magnificent Rila Monastery, one of the symbols of Bulgaria, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in 10th century, it is now one of the must-see visits in the country.
Day 3 : Plovdiv

Drive to Plovdiv and guided tour of one of the most ancient cities in Europe, European capital of culture in 2019.
Walk along the Roman stadium, the Roman open-air theatre, the Ethnographic museum, the church of St Constantin and Helena, the house of Lamartine, the Dzhumaya Mosquee. Stroll along the streets of Kapana quarter. Optional visit (with supplement) of Bishop's Basilica of Philippopolis with rich mosaic heritage.
Drive back to Sofia. Night in Sofia.
