Transfer & Etosha National Park Game Drive (L/D) You will be collected from your accommodation and brought to Chamaleon Backpackers Lodge to start the day with a pre-departure talk and meeting with the rest of your group. Depart Windhoek and stop briefly at Otjiwarongo to gather some last-minute supplies before continuing on to Etosha National Park. Once you arrive to the Park, enjoy an afternoon game drive visiting waterholes looking for wildlife such as zebras, giraffes, elephants and more. Later, set up camp and visit the floodlit waterhole while dinner is being cooked.
Day 2: Etosha National Park, Namibia
Location: Etosha National Park
Etosha National Park Game Drive, Halali (B/L/D) Start with a first game drive at sunrise to catch the predators while they are active, visiting many waterholes and having a breakfast picnic. Continue your journey arriving at the Etosha Pan, where you can take amazing photos while you stretch your legs. After this visit, head through to Halali, the central camp where you can dip on the pool, visit the Moringa waterhole and enjoy your lunch. After lunch, begin your final game drive across the park, back to Okaukuejo and returning later to camp by sunset. Enjoy your last night in Etosha. We recommend you visit the waterhole dring this time.
Day 3: Etosha National Park - Swakopmund, Namibia
Damaraland, Brandberg. Skeleton Coast and Tribe Meeting (B/L/D) Enjoy an early breakfast before departing Etosha. Today´s route will take you into the dramatic scenery of Damaraland. There you will have the opportunity to meet the Herero, Himba and Damara ladies who sell their handmade arts and crafts to support their families. A light roadside lunch is served en-route in the shadow of Namibia´s tallest mountain, the Brandberg, where you can interact with some of the colourful local characters who live in this harsh environment. Explore the remains of a small shipwrek ad you drive down the Skeleton Coast. Arrive in Swakopmund late-afternoon allowing you to explore the quaint seaside town on foot (depending on the season). During tonight´s dinner you will get the chance to know more about Namibia´s biggest tribe, the Owambo´s, as you try local Namibian delicacies in the township at Hafeni´s Traditional Restaurant.
Day 4: Swakopmund, Namibia
Swakopmund Free Day (B) Enjoy this free dat to participate in all the optional activities the Skeleton Coast has to offer. If you are a adrenaline junky, you can fly down a sand dune head first at 60km/hr or sky dive over the desert. If you prefer a calmer option, explore the desert, kayak with seals or opt for a dolphin cruise in Walvis Bay.
Day 6: Namib Naukluft National Park, Namibia
Location: Namib Naukluft National Park
Dune 45, Sossusvlei, Dead Vlei (B/L/D) Depart bright and early to enjoy the dunes at first light whilst the temperatures are still cool. Drive down an ancient river bed making a first stop at the famous Dune 45, where you will climb to the top to enjoy the sunrise. Have breakfast when you descent and continue on to the 2x4 parking (around 55kms) and take a 4x4 shuttle into the Sossusvlei area which you will discover with an early morning light and much tranquility. You will explore this area by foot before heading into Dead Vlei with its large expanse of bleached cracked clay and skeletal camel thorn trees, which contrast with a backdrop of huge dunes. Return to Sesriem for lunch after which you can take a swim before visiting later in the afternoon the nearby Sesriem Canyon, one of the few permanent water sources in the area.
Day 7: Namib Naukluft National Park - Windhoek, Namibia
Return to Windhoek (B) Have breakfast before hitting the road no later than 09:00am. From Sesriem, head back to Windhoek, travelling around the Naukluft Mountains. Arrive to Windhoek no later than 14:00pm, allowing travelers to travel onwards.
