Day 1: Kota Kinabalu - Kinabalu Np, Malaysia

Location: Kinabalu National Park

Kota Kinabalu to Kinabalu Park (D)

You will be picked up from your accommodation at 10:00 and transferred to Kinabalu National Park, passing by villages and paddy fields along the Crocker Range. On your way to the National Park your driver will drop you at the colorful Nabalu Market for 20 minutes of souvenir shopping. Once at the Park you will check-in at your hostel and enjoy free time until dinner at 18:00. Overnight in Kinabalu Park Hostel.

Day 2: Kinabalu Park - Laban Rata, Malaysia

Location: Sutera Sanctuary Lodges at Laban Rata

Kinabalu Trek (B/L/D)

Your breakfast will be served at 07:30 at Balsam restaurant. After breakfast, meet your mountain guide at Sabah Park Registration Office and then continue to the Power Station by coach (approx. 15 minutes) to commence the climb. Start the ascent to Laban Rata with your packed lunch. A nice winding path up the mountain takes you through various vegetation zones, such as montane oak, rhododendrons and conifer forests. After approximately 4 hours of trekking, you will arrive at your Guesthouse in Laban Rata [3550m]. Check-in and enjoy a delicious dinner whilst taking in the spectacular mountain landscape around you. Free time for the rest of the evening. Overnight at Laban Rata Guesthouse.

Day 3: Laban Rata - Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia

Location: Kota Kinabalu

Climb to Summit & Return to Kota Kinabalu (B/L)

Wake up at 02:00 and commence the torchlit hike to the summit. The climb will take about 3 hours and upon arrival you’ll be able to witness a beautiful sunrise from the summit. Then begin the walk down to Laban Rata Guesthouse for your breakfast before continuing to the Power Station. Transfer to Park HQ and have lunch at the park's restaurant. Get your certificate of great achievement before transferring back to your hotel in Kota Kinabalu.

We organized a trip through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia on the hop-on, hop-off bus. It made the trip so much simpler for us as first-time travelers because we just had to send an email to arrange the bus, which avoided the hassle of looking for the best price and so on! I had booked our Uyuni Salt Flats & Desert Adventure 3D/2N (Uyuni to Atacama) tour via an Australian travel agency, but they had made an error and refused to assist us or take responsibility. This was very difficult for us because we wanted to have a stress-free honeymoon. I contacted Bamba and I asked if we could talk on the phone so they made the improvements to our tour reservation that our travel agent declined to make. The quality of service was exceptional and they generously offered to us a complimentary gift because it was our honeymoon. I can't say enough good things about Bamba.
