Tour Overview

16 days of fun and adventure starting in Lisbon and finishing in Santiago de Compostela This adventure combines a sightseeing tour departing from the vibrant city of Lisbon, passing through some of the most important historical Knights Templar locations in the world, around Tomar, and then we head to Porto, from where the last stages of the Camino await us. The first part of this tour is designed for lovers of history, culture, and tradition, and is then complemented with walking the Camino, completing the mileage required to obtain the desired Pilgrim passport. Steeped in history and culture, Lisbon is an enchanting ‘city of light’ boasting natural luminosity and effortless charm. It has become a popular European destination for its exciting diversity, beautiful sites and the enviable, sunny climate. From here, our destination is the dramatic city of Tomar, a UNESCO World heritage site. We’ll visit the Convent of Christ, the Headquarters of the Knights Templar of Portugal for nearly 900 years from where their influence spread across Europe, and other important heritage sites. We’ll visit a nearby winery cellar, with some disclosure of the secrets behind the art of making wine, and a wine tasting. Continuing our journey, we arrive to Porto, a UNESCO World heritage Site, and the second most important city in Portugal. From here, after exploring the Vinho do Porto wine cellars and enjoying a cruise in the amazing Douro River, we’ll start our walk in the Camino, following breath-taking paths. We’ll meet a quieter, greener Portugal, famous for its mountains, lush green countryside and a stunning coastline, before entering Spain's Galicia region. In Spain the route crosses historic villages, cobblestone pathways, and expansive forests, ultimately leading you to the city of Santiago de Compostela, where your effort will be rewarded with your Pilgrim passport.
