Day 2 : Explore New York With Our Best Single Travel Host

Location: New York

Today we will grab a bagel, a cup a coffee as we take the train to Manhattan South to visit the following sites.
Battery Park where we will take a short ferry to visit the Statue of Liberty Island and the Ellis Island Immigration Museum. Be sure not to miss the historic halls and galleries at Ellis Island, where more than 12 million immigrants first entered America.
9/11 Memorial & Museum - honors the nearly 3,000 victims of these attacks and all those who risked their lives to save others. Encounter the Memorial’s twin reflecting pools that are each nearly an acre in size and feature the largest manmade waterfalls in North America. The names of every person who died in the 2001 and 1993 attacks are inscribed into the bronze panels edging the Memorial pools. Inside the 9/11 Memorial Museum’s 110,000 square feet of exhibition space, experience the story of 9/11 through multimedia displays, archives, narratives and a collection of monumental and authentic artifacts.

One World Observatory is the all-new attraction crowning One World Trade Center, the Western Hemisphere’s tallest building. Riding the Sky Pod elevator, we’ll experience an immersive, floor-to-ceiling time-lapse story of NYC’s 500-year evolution in less than 60 seconds. After the inspiring audio visual show in the SEE FOREVER THEATER™, we’ll progress to the 360-degree main observation area on the 100th floor where on a clear day we can see for 50 miles beyond NY’s iconic landmarks, bridges and waterways. Then step on the SKY PORTAL, a 14ft reinforced glass disk and see what’s happening on the streets literally beneath your feet. One floor higher there’s a cafe, bar and fine dining restaurant where you can enjoy a drink or a meal while looking down at a tiny Statue of Liberty.

Then we will take the hop-on bus uptown towards our hotel passing by Greenwich Village, South Street Seaport and the United Nations.
Tonight, we will participate in one of New York’s biggest holiday traditions, the walk along Fifth Avenue from Macy's at 34th to 59th Street and the Rockefeller Center's Christmas Tree. This 150-year old tradition began with the windows in Macy’s Herald Square and now thousands of people come to see the Christmas decorations every year. The Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center has stood as a holiday beacon for New Yorkers and tourists alike, towers above the holiday decorated ice rink below.
