Itinerary

Expand All

Day 1: Several Beaches, A Water Blow Cliff & A Sunset Dinner Almost On The Water

Location: Nusa Dua Beach, Uluwatu Temple, Jimbaran, Ubud

We need your arrival information because you will be picked up at the Ngurah Rai International Airport. Please ensure your flight arrives by no later than 10:00am. If this is not possible, then we recommend you sleep near to the airport your day of arrival and simply start this tour the following morning. We could pick you up from whichever hotel you book at, as long as it is near to the airport.

Why all this? Although the town of Ubud-where we are based for all but one night while on this 7-day tour-is a 1.5-hour drive away from the airport, we are not heading there directly. Instead, we first visit Padang Padang Beach, then Suluban Beach, then Uluwatu Temple, then Pandawa Beach, then Water Blow Cliff and finally a fishing village called Jimbaran. All of these destinations are relatively near to the international airport.

Padang Padang Beach is a great first impression of the island. Uluwatu Temple is home to a tribal dance called Kecak. Hopefully there will be an event taking place during our visit. Note that the temple is inhabited by monkeys, who are notorious for snatching visitors’ belongings. They can usually be persuaded into trading the items for fruit. Water Blow is where large waves of seawater from the Indian Ocean continually crash against jagged limestone edges of a cliff. The water blow is the outcome of the narrowing crag below the cliff face that channels a surge of water up to 30 meters high from its base following strong currents. This phenomenon results in giant, irregular splashes of wave that can reach several meters high. The area provides a 240-degree lookout of dramatic seascape that is bordered by guardrails.
Jimbaran is perfect for a sunset dinner on the beach, which is included on today's tour. Visiting Jimbaran before sunset is ‘a must’, seeing dozens of restaurants, tables and food lined up along the beach. We should be arriving in Ubud around 9:00pm.

Day 2: Cooking Class, Dinner In A Native's Home, Waterfalls & Ancient Temples

Location: Ubud, Tampaksiring

We are starting our day at the Tegenungan Waterfall, followed by visiting Goa Gajah (a.k.a. Elephant Cave). We then check out a temple complex called Gunung Kawi. Afterwards, we visit Tirta Empul Temple. Following the tour, we are taken to a native Balinese's home. There we watch how traditional food is prepared as well as have dinner. The combination of tasty cuisine, rich culture and good company creates an unforgettable experience.

Day 3: Traditional Countryside Living & Holy Sites

Location: Jatiluwih, Tanah Lot, Ubud

First on our agenda for today are the temples of Pura Puseh and Pura Dasar in the village of Batuan. Next is the Pura Taman Ayun Temple followed by the rice fields in Jatiluwih. Our final destination is the Tanah Lot Temple.

Day 4: Hot Springs, More Waterfalls & A Famous Temple

Location: Bratan, Gitgit

Although we are relocating from Ubud to the village of Munduk, there are several attractions to visit en route. First is the Pura Ulun Danu Bratan Temple. Next is Gitgit Waterfall. Afterwards, we check out a hot spring in the town of Banjar. The last destination for today is Munduk Waterfall.

Day 5: Postcard Perfect Rice Terraces, Spiritual Centers & Another Waterfall

Location: Ubud

Although we are relocating from the village of Munduk back to Ubud, there are several attractions to visit en route. The first destination is Sekumpul Waterfall. Next is Jagaraga Temple. Afterwards, we visit Pura Meduwe Karang Temple. The last attraction we see today are the Tegallalang Rice Terraces.

Day 6: Hiking Mount Batur To Watch The Sunrise, Exploring Ubud Town & Breathtaking Nature

Location: Bali, Besakih Temple, Ubud

Our day starts very early, as we hike up Mount Batur. Watching the sunrise from atop is an unforgettable moment. We then visit Pura Ulun Danu Batur Temple followed by the Mother Temple of Besakih. Afterwards, we check out the landscape surrounding both Iseh and Sidemen. Finally for today is exploring the town of Ubud itself. One of Bali’s major arts and culture centers, Ubud has developed a large tourism industry. One of the attractions in town we visit is the monkey forest.

Day 7: Our Tour Ends This Morning

Location: Ubud

Our tour ends today. Transportation will be arranged for you to reach the airport.

What's Included

  • Accommodation

Below are the names of the hotels where we commonly have our customers stay. Note this is subject to availability. Nights 1-3: Ubud, Preferred Accommodation: The Royal Pita Maha Night 4: Munduk, Preferred Accommodation: Munduk Moding Plantation Nights 5-6: Ubud, Preferred Accommodation: The Royal Pita Maha This tour includes lodging for 1 night. However, upon request, we can book accommodation for you for all nights at an establishment which meet your needs. For years, we automatically included 5-star hotels in our travel packages. In the interest of our customers, we ultimately decided to reduce the price of our tours and encourage specifically those with higher expectations to simply request room upgrades. Why? Some of our customers want simple and clean but ultimately cheap rooms. Some of our customers want 4-star hotels and are willing to pay more. Others want nothing short of 5-star extravagance. There isn’t a way to uphold ONE standard for hotels in our travel packages considering everyone has a different budget. What we CAN uphold are the standard and quality of our tours, all of which offer nothing short of a first-class experience. Again, upon request, we can upgrade your room type for the night included as well as book lodging for all nights on this tour. Let us know and we will provide you with pricing options.

  • Fully Guided

Our tour guides/drivers are licensed, speak English and know how to bring excitement to your day. What we deliver is the complete opposite of the cookie-cutting tours the big corporations offer, leaving you in complete boredom. Although our tour guides/drivers are attentive, accommodating and engaged, they also know when to give you your private space and free time. It's a perfect balance.

  • Meals – Half Board

Dinner in a native's home is included on this tour. Dinner is also included on the beach in Jimbaran. We do our best to ensure you are being offered healthy and tasty local cuisine.

CharlieTheTraveler did just a great job organizing everything!

01-Jul-2019

From the start, my expectations of the Bali trip were surpassed. Everything was amazing, from the accommodations, provided meals, our interactive tour guide, and the transportation to and from destinations. I enjoyed how friendly the locals were in the areas we visited. We were also brought to interesting sites and views of nature I have only dreamt of. CharlieTheTraveler did just a great job organizing everything! Perhaps my favorite memory was the hot spring in Banjar. I sat back and relaxed after a long day of exploring. Both my body and mind were relaxed, so I was able to really appreciate everything I had done and seen that day. I also loved a temple we had visited. The name escapes me, as we saw many worthwhile temples throughout the trip!

CharlieTheTraveler’s tour to Bali was so incredibly well-prepared and stress-free.

CharlieTheTraveler’s tour to Bali was so incredibly well-prepared and stress-free. The tour guide was also great: leaderlike but equally humble, smart and exciting. He spoke to us like family. He went so out of his way for us. I am very grateful for the tour guide and the wonderful trip I took to Bali with CharlieTheTraveler.

I truly believe no other touring company can compare to CharlieTheTraveler.

I truly believe no other touring company can compare to CharlieTheTraveler. This was my third tour taken with the company and although all of them surpassed my expectations, this one might have become my favorite (so far!). The entire experience was 5-star service, holding true to the company’s claims. The hotel was clean and in a good location and I enjoyed the authentic breakfasts that were provided. There is more to say. I saw many breathtaking sites while in Bali with this tour, but Gitgit Waterfall was perhaps my favorite. I found this natural landscape to be picturesque and a view that has been stuck in my mind well after the tour.

CharlieTheTraveler provided a great tour guide for the Bali Island trip.

01-Sep-2019

There’s a reason why CharlieTheTraveler mostly does small groups (around 6 persons). The feeling is much more authentic and personalized. This was, at least, how I felt when I went on the company’s tour of Bali. Each and every one of us were highly engaged in the activities. I loved the fact I didn’t have to worry about anything. Everything was given to us ‘on a silver platter’, so to speak, from choosing the right hotels to the right tour guide to the right places to visit to the logistics, etc. I highly recommend CharlieTheTraveler’s tours.

I also felt very protected while on CharlieTheTraveler’s tour.

01-Feb-2019

CharlieTheTraveler’s tour to Bali was the first time I went on a group tour. I later went on another group tour to Thailand with a completely different company. There really is no comparison. CharlieTheTraveler’s tour was designed and delivered so conveniently for us, knowing we would see and do it all. I also felt very protected while on CharlieTheTraveler’s tour. I hope to take another one of CharlieTheTraveler’s tours soon.

All of us tour group members were treated like important people.

01-Jun-2019

All of us tour group members were treated like important people. The price I paid for this tour was worth it. The hotel was great. The breakfasts were great. The van we used to explore the island was nice and safe. The tour guide was cool. I have nothing but nice things to say about CharlieTheTraveler’s tour to Bali. It was definitely one of the best tours I ever did in my life. What was my favorite? We visited some rice fields in Jatiluwih. That was the greatest highlight of all for me. Second to that were the waterfalls. Still though, I don’t think even one place we were taken too was anything short of awesome. It was all awesome.

CharlieTheTraveler’s 7-day tour of Bali Island is more than most companies would show its customers in double that time.

01-May-2019

What my tour group and I saw and did on CharlieTheTraveler’s 7-day tour of Bali Island is more than most companies would show its customers in double that time. We spent just a perfect amount of time at each place, not too little and not too much. I also appreciate how the tour guide ensured we didn’t get ripped off by the locals who were trying to sell us stuff outside of the main tourist attractions.

CharlieTheTraveler’s tour to Bali made me feel safe.

01-Jun-2019

First and foremost, CharlieTheTraveler’s tour to Bali made me feel safe. Secondly, it made me feel immersed in local culture. I do feel I saw all of the ‘must-see’ attractions and did all of the ‘must-see’ activities. I am glad CharlieTheTraveler didn’t leave out anything worthwhile. YOUR COMMENT

I did CharlieTheTraveler’s Bali tour.

1-Aug-2019

I did CharlieTheTraveler’s Bali tour. The hotels were great-the rooms, locations and breakfasts alike. The tour guide was very passionate about what he does and showed us Bali in a very exciting way. He knew we were there to have a good time and he made sure we had just that.

I was impressed by everything CharlieTheTraveler planned for this Bali trip.

01-Feb-2021

From day one to day seven, I was impressed by everything CharlieTheTraveler planned for this Bali trip. It was great for me to see a group of strangers become friends while we all participated in every day trip. Our tour guide might have been the best part of my trip, as I couldn’t imagine my trip without him. Overall, I found the trip to be perfect for not only me, but for a diverse group as we had.
