Highlights
Itinerary
Day 1: Several Beaches, A Water Blow Cliff & A Sunset Dinner Almost On The Water
Location: Nusa Dua Beach, Uluwatu Temple, Jimbaran, Ubud
We need your arrival information because you will be picked up at the Ngurah Rai International Airport. Please ensure your flight arrives by no later than 10:00am. If this is not possible, then we recommend you sleep near to the airport your day of arrival and simply start this tour the following morning. We could pick you up from whichever hotel you book at, as long as it is near to the airport.
Why all this? Although the town of Ubud-where we are based for all but one night while on this 7-day tour-is a 1.5-hour drive away from the airport, we are not heading there directly. Instead, we first visit Padang Padang Beach, then Suluban Beach, then Uluwatu Temple, then Pandawa Beach, then Water Blow Cliff and finally a fishing village called Jimbaran. All of these destinations are relatively near to the international airport.
Padang Padang Beach is a great first impression of the island. Uluwatu Temple is home to a tribal dance called Kecak. Hopefully there will be an event taking place during our visit. Note that the temple is inhabited by monkeys, who are notorious for snatching visitors’ belongings. They can usually be persuaded into trading the items for fruit. Water Blow is where large waves of seawater from the Indian Ocean continually crash against jagged limestone edges of a cliff. The water blow is the outcome of the narrowing crag below the cliff face that channels a surge of water up to 30 meters high from its base following strong currents. This phenomenon results in giant, irregular splashes of wave that can reach several meters high. The area provides a 240-degree lookout of dramatic seascape that is bordered by guardrails.
Jimbaran is perfect for a sunset dinner on the beach, which is included on today's tour. Visiting Jimbaran before sunset is ‘a must’, seeing dozens of restaurants, tables and food lined up along the beach. We should be arriving in Ubud around 9:00pm.
Day 2: Cooking Class, Dinner In A Native's Home, Waterfalls & Ancient Temples
Location: Ubud, Tampaksiring
We are starting our day at the Tegenungan Waterfall, followed by visiting Goa Gajah (a.k.a. Elephant Cave). We then check out a temple complex called Gunung Kawi. Afterwards, we visit Tirta Empul Temple. Following the tour, we are taken to a native Balinese's home. There we watch how traditional food is prepared as well as have dinner. The combination of tasty cuisine, rich culture and good company creates an unforgettable experience.
Day 3: Traditional Countryside Living & Holy Sites
Location: Jatiluwih, Tanah Lot, Ubud
First on our agenda for today are the temples of Pura Puseh and Pura Dasar in the village of Batuan. Next is the Pura Taman Ayun Temple followed by the rice fields in Jatiluwih. Our final destination is the Tanah Lot Temple.
Day 4: Hot Springs, More Waterfalls & A Famous Temple
Location: Bratan, Gitgit
Although we are relocating from Ubud to the village of Munduk, there are several attractions to visit en route. First is the Pura Ulun Danu Bratan Temple. Next is Gitgit Waterfall. Afterwards, we check out a hot spring in the town of Banjar. The last destination for today is Munduk Waterfall.
Day 5: Postcard Perfect Rice Terraces, Spiritual Centers & Another Waterfall
Location: Ubud
Although we are relocating from the village of Munduk back to Ubud, there are several attractions to visit en route. The first destination is Sekumpul Waterfall. Next is Jagaraga Temple. Afterwards, we visit Pura Meduwe Karang Temple. The last attraction we see today are the Tegallalang Rice Terraces.
Day 6: Hiking Mount Batur To Watch The Sunrise, Exploring Ubud Town & Breathtaking Nature
Location: Bali, Besakih Temple, Ubud
Our day starts very early, as we hike up Mount Batur. Watching the sunrise from atop is an unforgettable moment. We then visit Pura Ulun Danu Batur Temple followed by the Mother Temple of Besakih. Afterwards, we check out the landscape surrounding both Iseh and Sidemen. Finally for today is exploring the town of Ubud itself. One of Bali’s major arts and culture centers, Ubud has developed a large tourism industry. One of the attractions in town we visit is the monkey forest.
Day 7: Our Tour Ends This Morning
Location: Ubud
Our tour ends today. Transportation will be arranged for you to reach the airport.
What's Included
-
Accommodation
Below are the names of the hotels where we commonly have our customers stay. Note this is subject to availability. Nights 1-3: Ubud, Preferred Accommodation: The Royal Pita Maha Night 4: Munduk, Preferred Accommodation: Munduk Moding Plantation Nights 5-6: Ubud, Preferred Accommodation: The Royal Pita Maha This tour includes lodging for 1 night. However, upon request, we can book accommodation for you for all nights at an establishment which meet your needs. For years, we automatically included 5-star hotels in our travel packages. In the interest of our customers, we ultimately decided to reduce the price of our tours and encourage specifically those with higher expectations to simply request room upgrades. Why? Some of our customers want simple and clean but ultimately cheap rooms. Some of our customers want 4-star hotels and are willing to pay more. Others want nothing short of 5-star extravagance. There isn’t a way to uphold ONE standard for hotels in our travel packages considering everyone has a different budget. What we CAN uphold are the standard and quality of our tours, all of which offer nothing short of a first-class experience. Again, upon request, we can upgrade your room type for the night included as well as book lodging for all nights on this tour. Let us know and we will provide you with pricing options.
