Path to the Soviet legacy

The most important thing to share is that this is NOT a giant bus or large tour. This is a private, your-group-only tour. Which means you can cater the itinerary any way you want, and if you go through tourrradar chat to Davay Poedem you can change the trip (and price will be updated accordingly). The tour locations and excursions were pretty standard when compared to other companies, but the difference with this tour is the private consideration and level of service that the company representatives give. I always felt safe and taken care of, which is a significant achievement for a solo traveler. Please consider going to Ukraine; I found it to be as good a destination as other European countries, maybe better because it's not overly commercialized (yet) and a draw for tourist pick-pockets. This company will help you with a good trip to explore.

This tour is really something special - if you have any interest in the history of Ukraine and the region, this tour is for you. There were so many contrasts - the vibrancy of Kiev against the silence of Pripyat, the charm of Odessa against brutal weapons of war... The tour itself was really well organized, with no problems at all, and our hosts were incredibly responsive to our questions, going out of their way to help us. At each stop there were local guides, who are clearly interested and passionate about their cities and work. It made the whole trip an unforgettable experience.

What an amazing trip

What an amazing trip, the tour is fantastically put together and you really do see some of the amazing Soviet history of the Ukraine. The hotels are all well kept, clean and incredibly well located. Meals provided are good and food recommendations are always on hand for dinner if you don't want to explore. The itinerary was amazing, from a fantastic private tour of Kiev through to Chernobyl, visiting a nuclear bunker and going through the tunnels under Odessa- we thoroughly enjoyed our tour and would recommend to anyone looking for an adventure (as long as your are not claustrophobic for the exciting bits!) Thank you for an amazing tour, it was a brilliant adventure!

Path to the Soviet Legacy

Ukraine has been on my ‘must visit’ list for about 15 years and I’m happy to say it was worth the wait. Every day was different. There was no risk of ‘same as yesterday’ fatigue. There was 1000+ years of history in Kiev, the surreal setting and stories of Pripyat and Chernobyl, coming face to face with the insanity of mutually assured destruction at the Strategic Missile Forces Museum, the beautiful city of Odessa and it’s rather creepy catacombs, and throughout the whole trip the warmth and friendliness of Ukrainians shone through. Travelling also works up an appetite and I had no idea Ukrainian food was so amazing. Courtesy of top recommendations from both our guides and online, we had nothing but delicious meals and all at very reasonable prices. I didn’t know what to expect from Ukraine but I think it’s fair to say I fell in love a bit. What a country! I hope to return.

If you like cold war history, delicious food, beautiful people, Ukraine is the place to be. Roman and Eugenia were excellent in organizing the tour: strategic military museum, Chernobyl, Pripyat, WWII museum, catacombs of Odessa, Cognac tour. The hotel (Hotel Aivazovsky) we stayed at in Odessa was the most beautiful hotel I have ever been in. The staff were so nice there; they gave me chocolates and Champaign for my b-day <3. All our guides were so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I am so happy I went on this tour! And Roman was so friendly and amiable, he made us feel very welcomed. Great hospitality! Totally recommend :)
