Itinerary
Day 1 : Trekking To The Chimgan Mountains: Shuldak Settlement
Location: Tashkent, Chimgan
Accommodation: Tent
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
A two-hour drive in the morning takes you away from the capital, into a rural, unsettled area - to the starting point of the trekking program. Here you meet your mountain guide for the next few days. The trek begins in the Chimgan massif in the Aksakata valley (approx. 2 hours, 1600 m). You first hike upstream of the so-called Marble River, on the way you admire unusual rock formations and marvel at huge nut and silver poplar trees, some of which seem to grow into the sky. You pass several waterfalls, where you can recharge your batteries for your first obstacle, the Urta Kumbel Pass (1820 m). After that, you can enjoy a beautiful descent to the Aksakata River. There, where the Nurekatasay joins the Aksakata, you walk over a sturdy wooden bridge. Finally, a small pass leads over to the mountain village of Shuldak (1050 m). This is where you set up your first tent camp. Before sunset you have the opportunity to enjoy the splendour of the summit of Great Chimgan Mountains (3309 m). Dinner and overnight stays in tent.
