Experiencing gorilla trekking firsthand is beyond words. Our group had the privilege of encountering not just one but two families of gorillas during our trek. The first family we met consisted of 20 members, and the next day, we were fortunate to encounter a family of 34. With a small group of just 8 tourists and accompanied by 4 experienced guides and rangers, we were able to get up close and personal with these incredible creatures. Trying to describe the emotions evoked by this encounter is challenging. The playful antics of the gorilla toddlers, the protective instincts of the mothers, and the calm presence of the silverbacks left us in awe. While photographs can capture moments, they can't fully convey the sheer joy and wonder of being in the gorillas' presence. Every penny spent on this experience was absolutely worth it. It's a memory that will stay with us forever, reminding us of the beauty and majesty of nature.

In October 2023, we embarked on a thrilling 3-day trek from Kigali to Bwindi and back with Exodus Safaris, immersing ourselves in the world of mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. The only downside was the considerable distances between destinations, leaving us with limited time to fully enjoy our accommodations. Nevertheless, our adventure left us overwhelmingly satisfied! I also highly recommend the Golden Monkey trekking experience—an encounter with these adorable, playful creatures is an absolute delight.
