Itinerary

Expand All
Day 1 : Arrive In Buenos Aires, Argentina
Location: Buenos Aires
Accommodation: Hotel
Meals Included: No Meals

You may arrive in Buenos Aires at any time during Day 1 of your itinerary.
Upon arriving in this splendid city, known for its architecture and rich
European heritage, you will independently transfer to your group hotel.

Day 2 :  Fly To Ushuaia And Embark
Location: Ushuaia
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After an early breakfast at the hotel, the group will transfer to the airport
and board our private charter flight to Ushuaia, Argentina.

Upon arrival, you will be transferred from the airport to a central downtown
location to have some time on your own to explore this quaint port town
before making your way to the pier.

After a late afternoon embarkation, you will sail along the historic Beagle
Channel, which transects the Tierra del Fuego archipelago in the extreme
south of South America.

Day 3 : Cape Horn & Diego Ramirez
Location: Cape Horn, Diego Ramírez Islands
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Depending on conditions, we aim to start our journey to the 'edge of the
earth' with a visit to historic Cape Horn (Cabo de Hornos). At the
southernmost point of the Tierra del Fuego ('Land of Fire') archipelago, the
most isolated place in the Americas, this steep, rocky headland on Hornos
Island marks the northern boundary of the famous Drake Passage, where the
Atlantic and Pacific Oceans meet. From the 1700s to the early 1900s, prior to
the opening of the Panama Canal, this cape was part of a major global trade
route. If sea and weather conditions allow, you may go ashore for a hike out
to the lighthouse, the tiny Stella Maris ('Star of the Sea') Chapel, and the
albatross-shaped monument honoring the many mariners who lost their lives
attempting to 'round the Horn.' Atop the 1,394-foot (425 metre)-high
windswept promontory, pause for a moment to take in the panoramic view and to
enjoy the peaceful solitude that can only be found at one of the most
southern stretches of land in the world.

Our ship will then continue cruising farther south, to the Diego Ramírez
Islands, the most southern point of South America and one of the
least-explored places on the planet. This small archipelago was actually
thought to be the southernmost land mass in the world when it was discovered
in 1619 by the Spanish Garcia de Nodal expedition. Named after the
expedition’s cosmographer, the archipelago held this distinction for 156
years, until Captain James Cook’s discovery of the South Sandwich Islands
in 1775. Weather-permitting, we’ll Zodiac cruise around these tussock
grass-covered islands to admire the abundant birdlife. A designated Important
Bird Area, and part of the recently-designated Diego Ramirez Islands and
Drake Passage Marine Park, the archipelago is home to millions of breeding
seabirds, and an exceptional place for birdwatching. Binoculars in hand,
birders will marvel at the sight of multiple species of albatross (these
islands are the southernmost albatross breeding ground in the world),
including Black-browed albatross, Shy albatross and Grey-headed albatross.
Sightings of dolphins, South American Fur seals, and Rockhopper, Macaroni and
Magellanic penguins are also possible here.

If conditions look more promising toward the end of your expedition, this
itinerary day may take place after your Antarctic Peninsula exploration.

Day 4 - 5 : Crossing The Drake Passage
Location: Drake Passage
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

The unpredictable and exciting Drake Passage is an adventure unto itself.
While being well taken care of by our expert onboard staff and leaders,
you’ll have plenty of time to gaze out at the ocean, take pictures of
seabirds swooping around the ship, and get to know your Expedition Team and
fellow travellers.

Day 6 - 10 : South Shetland Islands And Antarctic Peninsula
Location: South Shetland Islands
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Once the Drake Passage is left in our wake and the South Shetland Islands
come into view, your Antarctic adventure truly begins. You will begin to
appreciate why this region has long captivated the attention of explorers and
travellers alike. On every visit to Antarctica, we witness something new or
unexpected, which means your expedition will be unlike any other—a unique,
personal experience.

Each day, you will take Zodiac excursions from the ship to explore local
bays, channels and landing sites. With wildlife always at the forefront of
our minds, you will visit penguin rookeries, scout for Humpback
and Minke whales, and search for a number of southern seal species,
including the cunning Leopard seal.

The majesty of the Antarctic Peninsula’s mountains will enchant as you hike
snowy pathways to vantage points offering panoramic views of your
surroundings. You will discover that Antarctica is a land of extremes. At one
moment you’ll be overcome with a feeling of complete isolation and silence,
and the next you’ll be inspired by nature as a calving glacier crashes into
a brilliant blue sea or a penguin waddles by to inspect your footwear.

Amid the serene silence of Antarctica, noisy interludes—such as penguins
squabbling over prized pebbles—become indelible memories.

Each day will be different, carefully crafted by your Expedition Team to
inspire and educate you about this wonderful part of the world.

Day 11 - 12 : Crossing The Drake Passage
Location: Drake Passage
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

The journey back across the Drake Passage provides a final opportunity to
enjoy the invigorating Antarctic air. Spend time on the deck watching for
seabirds and scouting for whales, enjoy presentations by your Expedition
Team, and celebrate the experiences you've shared exploring the remarkable
world of Antarctica.

Day 13 : Disembark In Ushuaia And Fly To Buenos Aires
Location: Ushuaia, Buenos Aires

You will arrive in Ushuaia in the morning and disembark after breakfast. The

Very helpful and prompt service

06-Jan-2023

Very helpful and prompt service. I called to check for an already booked trip and once we sorted this, the agent was ready to help me with another booking as well. He actually waited for me to book my flight tickets, answered all my questions, informed me of all my options. Exodus is a tour company I am using regularly due to the quality of their trips, ease of booking and helpfulness of their customer service team

Stunning walking. Walking the Amalfi Coast

04-Nov-2021

This trip takes you through the most beautiful parts of the Mediterranean walking with a guide and also discovering the wonders of Pompeii and Vesuvius. The hotel had a nice feel as family run, spotless and comfortable rooms, we were well looked after for breakfasts and dinner each day, and the barmen fixed some mean cocktails for us.!

It's amazing what you can do in a week! Cycling the Dalmatian Coast.

08-Oct-2021

This holiday was extremely enjoyable. The itinerary is well planned and the route takes you to a variety of destinations. Not having been to Croatia before I didn't know there were so many beautiful small islands and I loved the ferry and catarmaran rides. The coastal route we took was dramatic and the World Heritage sites in Split and Dubrovnik very interesting and worth visiting. The Adriatic Sea was warm, blue and inviting, good for swimming even in October. The hotels we stayed in varied in size from medium to large. I particularly liked the one just outside Dubrovnik as I had a sea view. Tourists were plentiful in Split and Dubrovnik but in the other places we stayed there was an end of season feel and it was quiet on the roads and in the resorts. The food was good and our guide was always able to recommend a nice restaurant for our evening meal. The weather in October was good for cycling - not hot, partly cloudy most days and one day it rained!

We went overland from Cape Town to Zimbabwe through Botswana and Namibia. What a fantastic trip. Our first time with Exodus although we have travelled extensively around the world. We would highly recommend this company for such a brilliant trip - we got everything and more all at a good price. Thanks to everyone involved. We are looking at our next trip!

I went cycling in Albania with exodus as my first holiday with them. Such a well organised and wonderful experience where I met multiple fellow travellers who have been advocates of them for many years. You can't argue with happy repeat customers and I'm planning my next adventure with them soon

I'v just come back from...

17-Jul-2022

I'v just come back from an amazing Wildlife & Wilderness trip in Botswana and I highly recommend Exodus Travels. Our guide Brian, was extremely knowledgeable on both the wildlife and history of Botswana and neighbouring countries. The other three staff, Abbis, Chief & Mr T, who accompanied us through out our 2 week trip, put in the hard work and made sure our camp was always prepared and that we we're well fed and looked after. The tour took us to some beautiful places and we saw some amazing wildlife, and on several occasions this was due to Brian's knowledge of the area and wildlife behaviour. Exodus have been very quick to respond to any queries I had, and the whole experience ran smoothly. I was also pleased to hear that during lockdown they provided staff with food packages 👍. I'd normally go on self organised trips, however, with this trip, the tour and guide Brian took us to places not possible otherwise and showed us things that we would'v missed out on. All of which were the highlights of the tour.

17-May-2023

I've done 8 trips in the last 14 years with Exodus, and have been rewarded with a 10% discount on all future bookings. I feel very confident that I'll receive pleasant, efficient service, and have the unusual holiday experience that I'm looking for each time. I've trekked to the top of snow-capped peaks, wild-camped in the desert, seen amazing spectacles of nature, visited 4 capital cities in a week, and learned about local culture and experienced local hospitality in a way that I simply wouldn't on a conventional holiday. The quality of the accommodation and guides can vary, but this is mainly down to cultural differences and things that Exodus can't control. I've only ever complained once, my complaint was taken seriously, and I was sent a discount voucher - you can't say fairer than that. I remain a loyal customer.

Food came quickly. Staff very friendly and polite . However the chef or person preparing the food did not seem to read the menu! If it says a meal should come with vegetables, you should not have to ask for them. They served shepherds pie with garlic bread! The munchies ice cream sundae said it should come in a glass with a flake but came in a little bowl with just a few munchies! When asking the staff were happy to replace and correct but customer should get what they order and what menu says first time round!!

If you like to be mistreated Exodus is perfect for you. If you enjoy terrible choices for hotels and pseudo restaurants Exodus is perfect for you. Careless about their clients and loveless about their propositions. Exodus has been a dissatisfaction and disappointment about every dealing i and my group have had with him. Especially a man called Simone who just cares about the money he can get from you couldn’t care less about service.
