Overnight Premium Houseboat Cruise

I booked my tour with Expertise prior to my trip to India . They were able to call me and communicate through What’s App and that was helpful . They came recommended through my Marriott Bonvoy site . The experience was over Christmas Eve . We docked by the village where families were celebrating the holiday and that was a special touch ! The houseboat was clean and comfortable and the cook was amazing .. we had the best breakfast we had in Our two week trip to India . Fresh mangos, pineapples and coconut wrapped in a sponge like rice pancake.. hands down amazing ! The morning on the backwater is where the magic happens breathtaking !

Me and my family had a memorable vacation with them. The team will take care of your needs at any point of time and they gave such tremendous support throughout the package. Worth for the money spend.

We booked the premium houseboat for one night. The difference between deluxe and premium is that the premium has 24/7 AC in the bedrooms and dining room (not just overnight), and the menu is upgraded. The service was attentive and friendly. Tomi the captain and James the mechanic were real professionals. Krishna is a fantastic chef! The chicken with cardamom and the banana fritters were amazing. When we stopped at a small shopping area in Champakulam during the cruise, Krishna came with us and kept an eye on our group (not that we felt even the slightest bit unsafe, but it was nice of him). When we docked overnight, he encouraged us to disembark and meander around the scenic area during sunset. Our driver, Mr. Sabu, picked us up right on time at COK airport to bring us to the houseboat, dropped us off at our AirBNB the next morning, and we were able to hire him again the next day for a trip to Fort Kochi. Our flight arrived at 8am, and you can board the houseboat at 12pm. It was about a 2.5 hour drive from the airport to the houseboat, so Mr. Sabu took us for a stop at a picturesque beach area along the way since we had extra time. Ms. Simi, our booking agent, was incredibly helpful. I was able to WhatsApp chat with her to get answers to all of our questions before booking, and she even called me to confirm details and help me make the payment. She also followed up afterwards to ask about our experience. Overall it was a lovely experience, the backwaters were stunning, and we had a very relaxing getaway.

Everyone told us to do the overnight stay on the boat after the cruise, and I now wish I had done a brief cruise then stayed in a hotel in Alleppey so we could do something at night. There were too many half empty boats doing the cruise which spoiled things for me plus was disappointed to see so much waste (eg plastic bottles) floating in some of the waterways. The boats are moored around 5:30 and it’s dark by around 6:30 and apart from dinner there is just nothing to do. Sorry if this review sounds negative as I always like to see the positive aspects of places I go but I just feel this is a beautiful site being spoiled by the number of half empty boats and litter
