Tsavo East is the largest protected area in Kenya, it is considered one of the world’s biodiversity strongholds, and its popularity is mostly due to the vast amounts of diverse wildlife that can be seen, including the famous “big five” consisting of lion, black rhino, cape buffalo, elephant and leopard. Tsavo East is also home to other mammals such as, water bucks, lesser kudu, crocodile, gerenuk and the prolific bird life with over 500 different species of birds, along with the 300 kilometre long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, make for an adventure unlike any other in the Tsavo East. One will also have a chance to visit the ngutuni sanctuary which is 10,000 acre private game sanctuary surrounded on three sides by Tsavo East National Park. The wildlife migrate freely between the two parks and Ngutuni is known for its dust covered red elephant herds, lions, giraffe and a variety of other wild animals. The Ngutuni water hole is directly adjacent to the Lodge giving one an up-close view of the wild animals quenching their thirst.
