Head for the clouds – cloud forest, that is. Experience it from your lodge in the middle of the Mindo forest, sitting at a comfortable 1200m in altitude. Try river tubing, rappelling, hiking, or horseback riding, or just take a more relaxed pace enjoying the jungle atmosphere. The Mindo area is known for its amazing bird-watching and more orchids than you thought possible.

Itinerary
Day 1: Quito/Mindo
Location: Quito
Early morning transfer to a comfortable lodge located in Ecuador’s cloud forests for a 2-night stay in the heart of the Mindo Valley.
Numerous options are available here, including visits to organic chocolate, orchid, and butterfly farms.
Additional Information: Our G Representative will meet you at the Quito hotel (not included) on the night prior to Day 1 of this tour.
ACTIVITY: On Day 1 of the tour, a G Adventures representative will meet you at the hotel to go over the details of the tour, providing a schedule, documentation/vouchers, and pick-up times for all included activities. The representative can also answer any questions about the tour or the general area.
TRANSPORT: Settle in and scan the scenery from the convenience of a private vehicle.
FREE TIME: Explore some of the unique places only found in a cloud forest.
Day 2: Mindo
Location: Mindo
Meals: BREAKFAST
Enjoy a morning birdwatching walk with the rest of the day free to explore. Optional activities include hiking, river tubing, and canopying.
Mindo is about 1,200m (3,937 ft) above sea level and is considered a world leader when it comes to birdwatching opportunities. This forest has more than 450 species of birds – approximately 32 species are endemic. There are also around 300 species of orchids, and approximately 39 species of hummingbirds that call this area home.
Additional Information: The included birdwatching excursion is with the CEO to Angel Paz or Bellevista, depending on your interests.
