Tour Overview
A city of Parisian charm and grace with an Asian edge, Hanoi is an enthralling blend of east and west and a rising star in Southeast Asia. Check out the local cuisine on a street food tour and visit the Hanoi Food Culture restaurant, a G Values Fund Project. Next, visit stunning Halong Bay and overnight on a junk boat (a traditional Asian vessel) while cruising among the bay's 3,000 islands that rise dramatically from the emerald waters. Get a closer look by cruising the waters in a kayak or dive right in for a refreshing swim.
Highlights
Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi
Location: Hanoi
Accommodation: Bonne Nuit Hotel
Arrive by 2:00pm for an insiders perspective of Hanoi's markets on an included Street Food Tour.
Feel free to start exploring! Make sure to be back at the hotel at 5:00pm for your welcome meeting.
ACTIVITY: On Day 1 of the tour, a G Adventures representative will meet you at the hotel to go over the details of the tour. The representative can also answer any questions about the tour or the general area.
ACTIVITY: Indulge your inner foodie with a street food tour through bustling Hanoi. Follow your guide through the back streets and markets of the city’s old quarter, sampling local fare along the way. Mingle with city natives and experienced street food artists alike, as you taste a variety of Hanoi faves like “nem ran” and “banh goi.” Stop at a streetside bar to savour a draught beer like Hanoians do. Cap off the tour at the Hanoi Food Culture restaurant, a G Values Fund Project, and try the city’s signature specialty coffee.
Day 2: Hanoi/Ha Long Bay
Location: Hanoi
Accommodation: Halong Bay Excursion
Meals: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER
Drive out to Ha Long city and board a traditional "junk" boat. Explore the stunning bay, learn about the local legends, and enjoy magnificent meals.
After breakfast, get picked up at the hotel for a bus journey through the countryside and industrial towns of the north. Head to the coast to board the live-aboard junk for an overnight cruise on stunning Ha Long Bay. Feast on local seafood specialties and visit the cave systems. Opt to swim or kayak around the dramatic limestone karsts.
TRANSPORT: It's bigger than a van, smaller than a bus, and just the right size for adventure.
ACTIVITY: Spend the day aboard a traditional junk boat. Cruise slowly on the calm bay on this comfortable craft, soaking in the magnificent karst scenery. Relax on deck and catch some rays or stay inside – you’ll still be able to enjoy the scenery through the windows. During the cruise, feast on local seafood, visit one of the massive cave systems on the islands, and stop off at a floating fishing village. Head out in kayaks or dive in for a refreshing swim. The next day, continue to cruise through the limestone karsts in the morning with a stop after breakfast by the islands of Man's Head and Turtle Island. Enjoy your final seafood lunch before disembarking. On rare occasion Halong Bay is closed to tourist vessels by the government authorities due to extreme weather conditions. Should this occur, an alternate activity will be provided.
Day 3: Ha Long Bay/Hanoi
Location: Ha Long Bay
Meals: BREAKFAST, LUNCH
After spending the morning aboard the boat, head back to Hanoi. Tour ends on arrival at the start hotel in Hanoi at approximately 5:00pm.
Additional Information: Tour ends upon arrival at the start hotel. Luggage can be stored at hotel reception during Day 3 if needed.
