Check out our Q&As

  • Is travel insurance required for trekking to Annapurna Base Camp?

Yes. You should have travel protection for this trip. Health care costs and helicopter rescue costs must be covered by your insurance.

  • What makes Annapurna treks so captivating?

Nepal has many trip trails of various trouble levels. A few journeys take in high heights, others in remote parts or geologically particular districts. However, Annapurna Treks shows you a brief, comprehensive picture of Nepal and captures the essence of the country.

  • In the Annapurna region, is the water potable?

Due to hygiene concerns, we do not recommend that you drink water from wells, rivers, or taps in the area. Packed water is available at tea houses and shops along the way. We encourage you to bring a water jug and fill it with bubbling water, which you can purchase in tea houses and hotels. The trekking area will benefit from this. Additionally, you can take pills to clean the water before drinking it.

  • Is there any baggage limit for doormen?

The trek's success is aided by the presence of porters, who are essential. We limit the amount of luggage that our porters can carry to no more than 18 kilograms and provide one porter for every two trekkers. As a result, there is a 9 kg weight limit per trekker.

  • What ought to be my degree of qualification for the Annapurna Headquarters short visit?

This trek is easier than other high Himalayan treks because you only trek up to 4,130 meters. If you are in good physical condition, you can complete this trek.

  • Are my own medications required for this trek?

We encourage you to bring your prescriptions, provided that you are adversely affected by certain drugs. Regularly, you can get practically all prescriptions here.

  • What about porter and guide insurance?

We make sure that our guides and porters have enough insurance as a responsible trekking company.

  • Can I rent the equipment in Nepal rather than purchase it?

It is possible to import trekking gear from your nation. Notwithstanding, you will have the choice to purchase journey gear in Kathmandu at sensible costs. Assuming you are keen on recruiting journey gear, we can acquaint you with shops that let you employ journey gear.

  • Is the trek to Annapurna Base Camp challenging?

The Annapurna Base Camp trek can be considered easy to moderately challenging depending on your fitness level. The trek's highest point is Annapurna Base Camp, 4,130 meters above sea level.

  • What documents will I receive before I travel?

Passport: Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay in Nepal. It should also have blank pages for visa stamps. Nepal Visa: Depending on your nationality, you may need a visa to enter Nepal. This can often be obtained on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu or at land borders. Some travelers may also apply for an e-visa in advance. Travel Insurance: It's highly recommended to have travel insurance that covers medical expenses, emergency evacuation, and trip cancellation or interruption. Flight Tickets: Confirmation of your flight bookings to and from Nepal. Hotel Reservations: Printouts or digital copies of hotel reservations for your stay in Nepal. Itinerary: A detailed itinerary of your travel plans in Nepal, including tours, trekking plans, or other activities. Local Currency: It's advisable to carry some Nepali Rupees (NPR) in cash for initial expenses upon arrival. Emergency Contacts: Make a list of emergency contacts, including your country's embassy or consulate in Nepal, local emergency services, and contacts for your accommodations and tour operators. Medical Information: Any relevant medical information or prescriptions you may need during your travel. Permits (if applicable): Depending on your travel plans, you may need permits for trekking or visiting certain areas in Nepal (e.g., trekking permits for Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Circuit, etc.). These can often be arranged through your tour operator or obtained locally.

  • What policies are in place for Covid-19?

As of my last update in January 2022, here are some general policies and guidelines related to COVID-19 in Nepal. Please note that the situation may have evolved, so it's essential to check for the latest information closer to your travel dates: Entry Requirements: Travelers entering Nepal may be required to present a negative PCR test result taken within 72 hours before departure. The specific requirements can vary, so it's important to check with airlines and official sources for the latest information. Visa Requirements: Nepal may have specific visa requirements related to COVID-19, such as additional health declarations or forms to fill out upon arrival. Health Screening: Temperature checks and health screenings may be conducted upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu or other entry points. Quarantine: Quarantine requirements have varied depending on the COVID-19 situation. As of earlier updates, travelers might have been required to quarantine upon arrival, especially if they did not have a negative PCR test result. Local Restrictions: Restrictions within Nepal, such as curfews or limits on gatherings, may be in place depending on the local COVID-19 situation. These can change frequently based on case numbers and government policies. Mask Mandates: Wearing masks in public places, including indoors and on public transport, has been mandatory in Nepal during the pandemic. Vaccination Requirements: Vaccination status may impact entry or access to certain locations or activities in Nepal. Some places may require proof of vaccination for entry. Travel Advisories: Check travel advisories issued by your home country and the Nepalese government for the latest updates and recommendations regarding travel to Nepal. To ensure a smooth travel experience, it's crucial to stay informed about current COVID-19 policies and guidelines from reliable sources such as government health departments and official tourism websites. Additionally, consider consulting with your airline, travel agent, or tour operator for specific requirements related to your travel plans in Nepal.

  • What happens if I need to change my holiday date once I’ve booked?

If you need to change your holiday dates after booking in Nepal, here are the typical steps and considerations: Contact Your Travel Provider: Reach out to your travel agency, tour operator, or accommodation provider as soon as possible. Explain your situation and request to change your dates. Availability Check: Check if the new dates you want to change to are available. This is particularly important if you have booked accommodations, guided tours, or permits that are date-specific. Cancellation Policy: Review the cancellation and change policies of your bookings. Understand if there are any fees associated with changing dates and what the process entails. Some providers may allow date changes without penalty if done within a certain timeframe before your scheduled arrival. Rebooking and Confirmation: Once you've agreed on the new dates and any associated costs (if applicable), confirm the changes in writing or through a revised booking confirmation from your travel provider. Visa and Permits: If your trip involves visas or permits (such as for trekking in restricted areas like Upper Mustang or Everest Base Camp), check if changes in dates affect these arrangements. You may need to adjust or reapply for permits accordingly. Flight Changes: If you've booked flights separately, contact your airline to inquire about changing your travel dates. Be aware of any change fees or fare differences that may apply. Insurance Coverage: Check your travel insurance policy to see if it covers changes to travel dates due to unforeseen circumstances. This can provide financial protection in case you incur cancellation or change fees. Confirmation of Changes: Ensure you receive updated confirmations for all aspects of your trip, including accommodations, tours, flights, and any permits. It's essential to communicate promptly with your travel provider to minimize any disruption caused by changing your holiday dates. Flexibility in travel arrangements and understanding the policies involved will help facilitate a smoother adjustment to your plans in Nepal.

One of the most breathtaking locations I have ever been in my life. You will need approximately six days to complete the ABC full circuit, but trust me when I say that the journey is well worth it. During those six days, I just ate "Daal Bhat," which is the energy supply for your legs. Ample amounts of water, energy bars, and bananas should be consumed.

Along with my son, I went on a trek. It's been an amazing journey. Surreal and serene landscape. Every morning was like being in paradise. Among the world's greatest hikes.
