Tour Overview
Himalayan Yoga and Excursion have combined two trips: a helicopter ride back to Kathmandu from Gorak Shep and a trek to Everest Base Camp. This is an experience of a lifetime, tracing the route taken by people who have ascended Mount Everest (8848 meters). Following our first flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, we hike through pine and cedar forests to Phakding and then continue to Namche Bazaar, a renowned town known for its rich cultural heritage. We travel to Namche Bazaar and then ascend to the Everest View Hotel for some of the most breathtaking views of Ama Dablam (6812m), Lhotse (8516m), Tawache (6495m), and Mt. Everest (8848m). You should visit Tengboche Monastery (3860 meters above sea level), where you can observe the remarkable Buddhist culture of this area.
Highlights
Itinerary
Day 1 : Flight From Kathmandu / Manthali To Lukla And Trek To Phakding
Location: Phakding, Tenzing-Hillary Airport, Kathmandu
Accommodation: Hotel
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Depending on the hiking season, you'll fly to Lukla from Kathmandu or Manthali. If you fly during peak trekking seasons (March, April, May, September, October, and November), your flight to Lukla from Kathmandu may be redirected via Manthali Airport instead. To catch a flight from Manthali to Lukla, we will pick you up at your hotel about 12:30 a.m. and drive you to Manthali Airport in around 5 hours. The ensuing flight from Manthali to Lukla takes around 20 minutes.
Day 2 : Trek From Phakding To Namche Bazaar
Location: Namche Bazar, Phakding
Accommodation: Hotel
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
We begin our trip early in the morning along the northern banks of the Dudh Koshi River, taking in the breathtaking scenery. The exhilarating suspension bridges, many of which are draped with prayer flags, add to the excitement of this hike. Prior to arriving at Sagarmatha National Park, you will pass through Monjo Village.
We register our permit at Sagarmatha National Park and ascend through deep woodland before gaining our first glimpse of Mount Everest. Then we continue our journey through the woods and stone-paved paths to Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is an excellent spot to unwind, thanks to its beautiful surroundings and friendly atmosphere.
Day 3 : Rest Day In Namche Bazaar
Location: Namche Bazar
Accommodation: Hotel
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
We spent another day in Namche Bazaar to acclimate to the thin air at high altitude. However, we shall not sit inactive. You will explore Namche's lanes and go to Sagarmatha National Park and Khumjung (3,790 meters). On the way to Khumjung, you'll stop by the Hillary School and other old monasteries. If you like, you can continue hiking to Khunde. You must not miss visiting Syangboche Airport (3,780m), one of the world's highest airports. You can hike to the Everest View Hotel to see more of Mount Everest View Hotel.
Day 4 : Trek From Namche Bazaar To Tengboche
Location: Tyangboche, Namche Bazar
Accommodation: Hotel
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
The trip begins softly till Phunki Village. The hike to Tengboche can be difficult because we have to climb steep hills. As difficult as the hike may be, the breathtaking views of the Himalayas will make the effort worthwhile. The trek uphill allows you to see musk deer, pheasants, and Himalayan tahr. Tengboche, one of the most beautiful towns on the trekking route, has numerous attractions to offer, including panoramic views of mountains like as Everest (8,848m), Ama Dablam (6,812m), Lhotse (8,516), Nuptse (7,861), and Thamserku (6,623m).
Day 5 : Trek From Tengboche To Dingboche
Location: Tyangboche, Dingboche
Accommodation: Hotel
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
We travel towards Pangboche Village (3,985m), passing by various stupas, mani walls, and small Sherpa communities along the way. This walk winds through a rich alpine woodland with seasonal rhododendrons, providing stunning views of the surrounding countryside. As you climb higher, you'll see plants and a desert-like terrain.
The steepest and most difficult ascent begins at the Lobuche River and continues to Dingboche. Dingboche (4,360m), also known as Khumbu's summer valley, features a kilometer-long wall that protects crops from cold winds. The view from Dingboche is stunning, with breathtaking vistas of the valley and mountains.
Day 6 : Rest And Acclimatize In Dingboche
Location: Dingboche
Accommodation: Hotel
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today, we visit the area surrounding Dingboche (4,360m/14,290ft) while adjusting to thin air. We prepare for the next ascent by hiking along the ridge above Dingboche, where we can see Mount Lhotse (8,516m/27,940ft), the backside of Ama Dablam (6,812m/22,349ft), and Island Peak (6,189m). While our bodies adjust, we may relax our brains with breathtaking views.
Day 7 : Trek From Dingboche To Lobuche
Location: Dingboche, Lobuche
Accommodation: Hotel
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
The walk to Lobuche (4,930m) is amazing, with breathtaking mountain vistas throughout. The trail climbs a short hill before passing through a steep terminal Khumbu Glacier (4,900m) moraine. You'll pass across massive blocks dislodged by the glacier. The mountains become more visible as we ascend higher with each curve. The trek seems steeper at first, then gradually increases as we approach Thukla. As you journey onward, you will come across a memorial honoring those who were unable to succeed in this difficult terrain. Despite the tough climb, as we come closer to our target, the improved view inspires us to climb even higher till we reach Lobuche.
Day 8 : Trek From Lobuche To Everest Base Camp And Then Back To Gorakshep
Location: Everest Base Camp, Gorakshep, Lobuche
Accommodation: Hotel
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After days of climbing, the time has come to reach the foothills of the tallest mountain. We will start our walk to Everest Base Camp (EBC) early in the morning, traveling past several glaciers, including the iconic Khumbu Glacier. Beyond Khumbu Glacier, you may view Khumbu Icefall (5,486 meters). We'll also cross the Army Mountaineers Memorial.
However, before reaching Everest Base Camp, we will climb to Gorakshep and store our things. Then we climb to the Everest Base Camp (5,364 meters). You will be overjoyed when you are surrounded by snow-capped mountains. After completely immersing ourselves in the vistas from the EBC and taking plenty of pictures, we hike down to Gorakshep (5,185m) and relax for the day.
Day 9 : Hike To Kala Patthar Viewpoint, Return To Gorakshep And Trek To Lobuche And Fly From Lukla
Location: Kala Patthar, Lobuche, Gorakshep
Accommodation: Hotel
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
The Kala Patthar Viewpoint (5,555m) is a short climb from Gorakshep. You will walk to Kala Patthar early in the morning to see the sunrise over Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks. Kala Patthar is the highest point of our entire walk. After spending an hour at Kala Patthar, you will return to Gorakshep for breakfast before trekking for another two and a half hours back to Lobuche. From Lobuche, you will take a helicopter to Lukla. By skipping the downward trek, you can arrive in Lukla completely comfortable.

What policies are in place for Covid-19?
As of my last update in January 2022, here are some general policies and guidelines related to COVID-19 in Nepal. Please note that the situation may have evolved, so it's essential to check for the latest information closer to your travel dates: Entry Requirements: Travelers entering Nepal may be required to present a negative PCR test result taken within 72 hours before departure. The specific requirements can vary, so it's important to check with airlines and official sources for the latest information. Visa Requirements: Nepal may have specific visa requirements related to COVID-19, such as additional health declarations or forms to fill out upon arrival. Health Screening: Temperature checks and health screenings may be conducted upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu or other entry points. Quarantine: Quarantine requirements have varied depending on the COVID-19 situation. As of earlier updates, travelers might have been required to quarantine upon arrival, especially if they did not have a negative PCR test result. Local Restrictions: Restrictions within Nepal, such as curfews or limits on gatherings, may be in place depending on the local COVID-19 situation. These can change frequently based on case numbers and government policies. Mask Mandates: Wearing masks in public places, including indoors and on public transport, has been mandatory in Nepal during the pandemic. Vaccination Requirements: Vaccination status may impact entry or access to certain locations or activities in Nepal. Some places may require proof of vaccination for entry. To ensure a smooth travel experience, it's crucial to stay informed about current COVID-19 policies and guidelines from reliable sources such as government health departments and official tourism websites. Additionally, consider consulting with your airline, travel agent, or tour operator for specific requirements related to your travel plans in Nepal.

What happens if I need to change my holiday date once I’ve booked?
If you need to change your holiday dates after booking in Nepal, here are the typical steps and considerations: Contact Your Travel Provider: Reach out to your travel agency, tour operator, or accommodation provider as soon as possible. Explain your situation and request to change your dates. Availability Check: Check if the new dates you want to change to are available. This is particularly important if you have booked accommodations, guided tours, or permits that are date-specific. Cancellation Policy: Review the cancellation and change policies of your bookings. Understand if there are any fees associated with changing dates and what the process entails. Some providers may allow date changes without penalty if done within a certain timeframe before your scheduled arrival. Rebooking and Confirmation: Once you've agreed on the new dates and any associated costs (if applicable), confirm the changes in writing or through a revised booking confirmation from your travel provider. Visa and Permits: If your trip involves visas or permits (such as for trekking in restricted areas like Upper Mustang or Everest Base Camp), check if changes in dates affect these arrangements. You may need to adjust or reapply for permits accordingly. Flight Changes: If you've booked flights separately, contact your airline to inquire about changing your travel dates. Be aware of any change fees or fare differences that may apply. Insurance Coverage: Check your travel insurance policy to see if it covers changes to travel dates due to unforeseen circumstances. This can provide financial protection in case you incur cancellation or change fees. Confirmation of Changes: Ensure you receive updated confirmations for all aspects of your trip, including accommodations, tours, flights, and any permits. It's essential to communicate promptly with your travel provider to minimize any disruption caused by changing your holiday dates. Flexibility in travel arrangements and understanding the policies involved will help facilitate a smoother adjustment to your plans in Nepal.
