What policies are in place for Covid-19?
As of my last update in January 2022, here are some general policies and guidelines related to COVID-19 in Nepal. Please note that the situation may have evolved, so it's essential to check for the latest information closer to your travel dates: Entry Requirements: Travelers entering Nepal may be required to present a negative PCR test result taken within 72 hours before departure. The specific requirements can vary, so it's important to check with airlines and official sources for the latest information. Visa Requirements: Nepal may have specific visa requirements related to COVID-19, such as additional health declarations or forms to fill out upon arrival. Health Screening: Temperature checks and health screenings may be conducted upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu or other entry points. Quarantine: Quarantine requirements have varied depending on the COVID-19 situation. As of earlier updates, travelers might have been required to quarantine upon arrival, especially if they did not have a negative PCR test result. Local Restrictions: Restrictions within Nepal, such as curfews or limits on gatherings, may be in place depending on the local COVID-19 situation. These can change frequently based on case numbers and government policies. Mask Mandates: Wearing masks in public places, including indoors and on public transport, has been mandatory in Nepal during the pandemic. Additionally, consider consulting with your airline, travel agent, or tour operator for specific requirements related to your travel plans in Nepal.

What happens if I need to change my holiday date once I’ve booked?
If you need to change your holiday dates after booking in Nepal, here are the typical steps and considerations: Contact Your Travel Provider: Reach out to your travel agency, tour operator, or accommodation provider as soon as possible. Explain your situation and request to change your dates. Availability Check: Check if the new dates you want to change to are available. This is particularly important if you have booked accommodations, guided tours, or permits that are date-specific. Cancellation Policy: Review the cancellation and change policies of your bookings. Understand if there are any fees associated with changing dates and what the process entails. Some providers may allow date changes without penalty if done within a certain timeframe before your scheduled arrival. Rebooking and Confirmation: Once you've agreed on the new dates and any associated costs (if applicable), confirm the changes in writing or through a revised booking confirmation from your travel provider. Visa and Permits: If your trip involves visas or permits (such as for trekking in restricted areas like Upper Mustang or Everest Base Camp), check if changes in dates affect these arrangements. You may need to adjust or reapply for permits accordingly. Flight Changes: If you've booked flights separately, contact your airline to inquire about changing your travel dates. Be aware of any change fees or fare differences that may apply. Insurance Coverage: Check your travel insurance policy to see if it covers changes to travel dates due to unforeseen circumstances. This can provide financial protection in case you incur cancellation or change fees. Confirmation of Changes: Ensure you receive updated confirmations for all aspects of your trip, including accommodations, tours, flights, and any permits. It's essential to communicate promptly with your travel provider to minimize any disruption caused by changing your holiday dates. Flexibility in travel arrangements and understanding the policies involved will help facilitate a smoother adjustment to your plans in Nepal.
