Upon your arrival or pick-up from your hotel in Casablanca, we’ll begin with a visit to the iconic Hassan II Mosque, the only mosque in Morocco open to non-Muslims. Built between 1987 and 1993, this architectural marvel, with its capacity to host over 25,000 worshippers indoors and 80,000 outdoors, offers a stunning introduction to Moorish influences in Morocco.
Next, we journey to Rabat, where you’ll explore the historical Chellah, a captivating site blending Roman and Merinid ruins. We’ll also visit the unfinished Hassan Tower and the beautiful Mausoleum of Mohamed V. After exploring Rabat, we continue to the imperial city of Meknes, famed for its impressive gates, mosques, and madrasas, all built under Sultan Moulay Ismael in the 18th century. The next morning, after a delightful breakfast, we begin our exploration of Meknes with a visit to the Sahrij Swani granary, built to store food and water for Sultan Moulay Ismael's "Black Army." We'll also visit the sultan's mausoleum, a stunning example of Arab-Andalusian architecture. Next, we’ll marvel at the grand Bab Mansour gate, one of the most impressive in Morocco.
Just 30 kilometers from Meknes, we arrive at Volubilis, a remarkably well-preserved Roman archaeological site and a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1997. Here, you’ll explore impressive mosaics, Latin inscriptions, and ancient artistic treasures. After immersing ourselves in the history of Volubilis, we will conclude the day with a journey to Fes for an overnight stay.
