Get ready to see the best of South Central Europe with this 11-day tour of Italy and Switzerland! Your journey will begin in Rome, the capital of Italy home to the world-famous Colosseum. Explore Venice Square and Capitoline Hill before you visit Vatican City, the principal center of Christianity in the world. From there you will travel to Florence, the Birthplace of the Renaissance, home to many masterpieces of Italian art. Your next stop will be in Venice, the City of Canals home to St. Marks Square, followed by Verona, where you can learn about the story of Romeo and Juliet. Cross the border into Switzerland to visit Lugano, known for its beautiful lake, before you travel to Zurich, to get a taste of the extravagant city life. Take the cable car up to Grindelwald Mountain to walk over the famous bridge, followed by a scenic trip to Lucerne, a colorful city with a fascinating medieval core with a breathtaking backdrop of mountains. Discover the most important pilgrimage center in Switzerland in Einsiedeln, visit Heidis House in Maienfeld, and explore Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein. Get a taste of Austria with a trip to Feldkirch, before you explore Mainau Island and head on over to the Rhine Falls to see the largest waterfall in Europe. From there you will make your way back to Zurich, where your tour of Italy and Switzerland will come to an end!

Day 1: ROME ARRIVAL
Welcome to Rome! Upon arrival at the Rome International Airport, you will transfer to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2: ROME & VATICAN – FULL DAY TOUR (B/-/-)
In the morning after breakfast, you will embark on a two-and-a-half-hour scenic tour of Rome with a local guide. This tour will be an incredible introduction to The Eternal City. You will visit various attractions such as the Caracalla Baths, Venice Square, Circo Massimo, the Capitoline Hills, or St. John Lateran. The tour will end in Vatican City, the principal center of Christianity in the world. You will also be able to visit Vatican Museum and St. Peters Basilica. In the evening, you will be provided transportation to the Trastevere district area, where you will find restaurants serving Italian, Indian, and Chinese and international cuisine. A return to the hotel will be included.

Day 3: ROME – FLORENCE (B/-/-)
Today you will head on a beautifully landscaped to Florence, the Birthplace of the Renaissance. Upon arrival in Florence, make your way directly to Piazzale Michelangelo, where you will uncover the best views of Florence and the Cathedral in the city. Situated on the South Banks of the River Arno, the Piazzale Michelangelo sits high on a hill near the Boboli Gardens and the Palazzo Pitti. In the center of the square stands a wonderful bronze statue of David, and at the edge of the square, there is a series of vendors and artists. From there, you will head on a panoramic tour of the city with a local guide. You will walk through the historic center where you can admire the Duoma: a symbol of Florence, the Ponte Vecchio, the Basilica de San Lorenzo, and Giottos Bell Tower. Spend the afternoon at leisure to explore the city at your own pace. We recommend you visit the Uffizi Palace, a famous art museum, considered one of the most important Italian museums in the world. Inside the museum lies an immense collection of Renaissance Art from famous artists such as Botticelli, Da Vinci, Titian, and Raphael. Or, you may choose to visit the Galleria dellAccademia, where you will find several masterpieces of Renaissance art including Michelangelos original David sculpture.

Day 4: FLORENCE – VENICE (B/-/-)
Enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountains as you depart Florence and travel across the Apennine Mountains. Your route today will take you to Venice, the City of Canals. Upon arrival in this breathtaking city, you will head on a boat trip to the area of St Marks Square, where, accompanied by a local guide, you will walk around the city. You will also get the opportunity to see the Murano glasswork at the factory. You will have leisure time to explore the city later - perhaps take the opportunity to head on an iconic gondola ride along the canals.

Day 5: VENICE – VERONA – ZURICH (B/-/-)
After a delicious breakfast, you will travel to Verona, the romantic city of Romeo and Juliet. Take in the breathtaking views of the Italian countryside as you drive across the Alps (lakes and snowy mountains). Upon arrival in Verona, you will take a shuttle to the historic center. The guide will inform you about the places you can walk through in the City of Lovers! From there, you will continue your journey to cross the border into Switzerland and travel to Lugano, the cosmopolitan capital of Italian Switzerland, known for its beautiful lake. Time some time to stroll around the city and have lunch. Your tour will continue to Zurich, one of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland, known for its gorgeous lakes and snow-capped mountains. Upon arrival, take some free time to explore the historic center, situated next to the lake. You will be able to dine in one of the many restaurants serving a wide range of cuisines.

Day 6: ZURICH – LUCERNE (B/L/-)
Today, you will drive through the breathtaking landscapes of Interlaken, known for the high mountains and shimmering lakes. You will stop in Grindelwald, where you will have time to grab a coffee before taking the cable car up the mountain. You will walk along the winding path which will lead you to the \"footbridge over the empty\". Dare to walk along the bridge as you take in the breathtaking sights of the glaciers all around you. You will take lunch up the mountain (included) before heading back down. From there you will travel to Lucerne, a beautiful city known for its historic buildings and gorgeous lake. In the evening you will have some leisure time to explore the city at your own pace.

Day 7: LUCERNE – EINSIEDELN – VADUZ – FELDKIRCH (B/-/-)
In the morning you will depart Lucerne and drive along Four Cantons Lake to Einsiedeln. The city's Baroque Abbey is the most important pilgrimage center in Switzerland. From there, you will continue your journey to the East of Switzerland. Maienfeld is the village that inspired Heidis story. You walk through the historic center and visit Heidis House (ticket not included. Entry to the facility is free), a picturesque place with beautiful landscapes that you will reach with a pedestrian path. From there, enter the independent country of Liechtenstein, to explore the capital city of Vaduz, known for its impressive castle. Take some time to stroll around the city and have lunch. Subsequently, you will travel to the neighboring city of Feldkirch, in Austria, situated next to the border of Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Germany. This is a charming walled city with an authentic historic city center and a beautiful castle. Spend the evening at leisure.

Day 8: FELDKIRCH – CONSTANCE – RHINE FALLS – ZURICH (B/-/-)
After a delicious breakfast, you will start your day by heading to St. Gallen, known for its UNESCO World Heritage Center and magnificent Cathedral. From there, you will travel to Constance Lake, situated between Germany and Switzerland. Take some time to walk around the center of Constance before you visit Mainau Island (access by pedestrian bridge), known for its stunning botanic garden (entry included). Then, again in Switzerland, you will stroll around Stien am Rhein, a traditional village on the Rhine River with precious houses and beautifully painted walls. The highlight of the day will be a trip to the Rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in Europe. Over a breadth of 150 meters, hundreds of cubic meters of water rush into the depths at 23 meters per second. You will arrive in Zurich by evening.

Day 9: ZURICH (B/-/-)
In the morning, you will head on a guided tour of Zurich, a beautiful Swiss city, and the financial and cultural capital of Switzerland. Zurich has twice been declared one of the best cities to live in the world. You will continue your day with a two-hour cruise on Lake Zurich. The boat will make brief stops along the way to give you a glimpse of the Swiss villages. You get off the boat in Rapperswil, a picturesque village overlooked by its medieval castle. Your tour will take you back to the city center in Zurich. With a local train, you will get the opportunity to ride on the Swiss Railways.
Note: Depending on the number of travelers, at this stage, the transfers to the center and from the station may be made by public transit.

Yes, but only in case it was previously agreed by both sides and arranged by us.
What documents will I receive before I travel?
Our e-document package includes all local contact details, daily itinerary, airline e-ticket information, service vouchers, and travel tips which should be everything you require to go on your trip.
If I need one, who is responsible to obtain my visa?
You are responsible for obtaining the proper travel documents for the destinations on your itinerary, including having a passport that is valid for at least 6 months before the date of departure and a visa if required. Please check the Visa section in the Know Before You Go document for the countries you will be visiting.
Do you operate a “single share” option and how does it work?
No, not as standard. Solo travellers can book and occupy their own room for a supplement.

Will the accommodation included meet local health and safety regulations?

What happens if I need to change my holiday date once I’ve booked?
Changes to an existing reservation up to the Final Payment Date, whatever the cause, will incur a $100 per person amendment fee, potential loss of any supplier fees (such as non-refundable event tickets, park permits, and sea cruise reservations) plus any costs for replacement services. On/ after the Final Payment Date, the $100 change fee is no longer valid, instead cancellations terms apply.
