ABOUT THIS TOUR Are you ready to see some of the most fascinating archaeological sites and ancient cities in Southern Europe? This tour of Greece and Rome will give you a great glimpse into the most breathtaking sights in the Mediterranean! Your journey will begin in Athens, the extraordinary capital and one of the oldest cities in the world. Visit the Presidential Palace and the Panathinaikos Stadium, two of the most famous attractions in Athens. Next, you will travel to Meteora and explore Kalambaka, a breathtaking town in the Thessaly Valley known for its fascinating rock formations. Sail across the Ionian Sea with a ferry ride to Corfu, one of the most beautiful islands in Greece. Travel to Lefkada and explore the sandy beaches of Porto Katsiki, where white cliffs and crystal-clear waters will leave you in awe, with stops in many mesmerizing islands on the way to Delphi. Search for ancient ruins in the legendary archaeological site of Delphi, overlooking the Gulf of Corinth, and travel to Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Visit the Patras Castle before you make your way to Rome, the capital of Italy. Head on a tour of the Colosseum, the biggest amphitheater in the world, and visit Vatican City, where you will see St. Peters Basilica. Day 1: Athens Arrival
Welcome to Athens! Upon arriving at the airport, you will be transferred to the hotel. Enjoy free time at leisure. Check the information board in the hotel reception area for details regarding the meeting place, time, and the guide's name. Take the opportunity to explore the local market on your own or unwind in the hotel.

Day 2: Athens (B/-/-)
After a delicious breakfast, head on a panoramic tour of the city with a local guide, which includes a visit to the Presidential Palace and the Panathinaikos Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games were held. You will also visit the national library, the bustling squares of the city center, and the new neighborhoods that emerged after the 2004 Olympic Games. The tour will end at the Acropolis site (entry not included). In the evening, you will be transferred to Plaka. Head on a walk through the beautiful meandering streets of the old town, which is scattered with ancient and neoclassical buildings, shops, cafes, and restaurants to enjoy dinner. After dinner, return to your hotel.

Day 3: Athens - Kamena - Vourla - Meteoras - Kalabaka (B/-/D)
After breakfast, set off in the early morning for the North of Greece. A stop at Kamena Vourla, a pretty tourist center by the sea amidst magnificent countryside. Continuation north bound. Here you will make a brief stop at the gorge where the battle of Thermopylae took place. Kalabaka, arrive in the early afternoon. Then you will visit the Valley of the Meteora, an impressive place declared UNESCO World Heritage. You will have the opportunity to admire the valley and will have the chance to enter one of the most famous monasteries (entrance included).

Day 4: Kalabaka — Metsovo - Corfu - Kanoni - Preveza (B/-/-)
After breakfast, enjoy an exciting day full of beauty as you travel between mountains on your way to Metsovo. Coffee in this city reminds us of the history and influence of the Slav and Turkish world in the north of Greece before going on to Igoumenitsa, where you will embark on a ferry to the very beautiful island of Corfu. A one-and-a-half-hour crossing of the waters of the Ionian Sea in front of the coast of Albania, we suggest lunch on board. On the island of Corfu, the Pearl of the Ionian Sea, see its capital Kerkira which preserves its Venetian-style historic center. See the beautiful Byzantine church perched on an island. You will embark once again to return to continental Greece before going on to Preveza. Accommodation in the picturesque lively city with its marina and beaches by the Ionian Sea.

Day 5: Preveza - Cruise Of Islands Of The Lonian - Preveza (B/L/-)
After breakfast, today, the main feature is the sea and the islands of the Greek Ionian Sea. You will spend the day visiting the nearby island of Lefkada, connected by a bridge to the mainland. Embark on a days cruise that will take us to Porto Katsiki and its beautiful beach; Cephalonia, the largest island of the Ionian Sea, where you can stroll in the picturesque village of Fiscardo; Ithaca, the homeland of Ulysses and a chance to see the village of Frikes; the boat then enters a hidden grotto in Meganisi. Our boat also stops at Korpios, the island of Onassis, where you can swim. A small lunch will be included on the cruise. After disembarkation, enjoy some time in Lefkada, the island's historic capital, after which you will return to our hotel in Preveza.

Day 6: Lefkada — Nafpaktos - Delphi — Olympia (B/-/D)
In the morning, after breakfast, travel to the south of the Ionian Sea and the Gulf of Corinth. See Nafpaktos, where its castle reminds us that this city is Lepanto, where the famous sea battle between Christians and Turks took place. Amidst the very beautiful countryside, you will head toward Delphi, where you will arrive in the morning. The entrance includes the beautiful archaeological complex that overlooks the Gulf of Corinth with incredible scenery. Time for lunch before we head to the Peloponnese. Enjoy Dinner at the hotel.

Day 7: Olympia — Patras (Ferry) — Ancona (B/-/-)
After breakfast, you will visit Olympia, an archaeological site, with a local guide. You will have a chance to visit its museum and archaeological site (ticket included), which is the cradle of the Olympic games in ancient times. After this, cross the mountainous interior of the Peloponnese as you continue to Patras; we include tickets to its powerful castle built in the 6th century; time for lunch. At 17.30 (the time may change), board a very modern ferry, much more like a cruiser. The ship sails along the Greek coast, passing the islands of Ithaca and Kefalonia and making a stop at Igumenitsa. In the evening, you will continue your journey to the port to board your overnight ferry to Ancona. The ferry sails along the Greek coast, passing by the islands of Ithaca and Kefalonia.

Day 8: Ancona — Loreto - Rome (-/-/-)
Enjoy your morning resting on board as you sail through the Adriatic. Arrival in Ancona is scheduled at 14:00, disembarkation and continuation to Loreto, time to visit the sanctuary of the Holy House, the house of the Virgin Mary, and to tour its beautiful medieval town. After that, we cross the Apennines amidst the beautiful countryside in the Abruzzo region before arriving in Rome.

Day 9: Rome (B/-/-)
After breakfast, in the morning, you will set on a tour of the city, which will be a great introduction to “The Eternal City.” We enter the tiny state of the Vatican. The Vatican City is the principal center of Christianity in the world. You can visit St. Peters Basilica and enter the Roman Coliseum (admission price included), the principal symbol of Rome. This impressive construction dates back 2,000 years and will transport us in time so that we can learn about ancient society in the Roman Empire. In the evening, we will transfer to the Trastevere area for a stroll in the narrow cobbled streets of the district with hidden treasures, such as some modest medieval churches, small shops with the most peculiar of objects or scenes of daily life. You will find many international restaurants to enjoy your dinner. After dinner, return to the hotel.

Day 10: Rome — Usa/Canada (B/-/-)
After breakfast, make your own way to the Rome International Airport for your flight back home.
