Board your am train today at Amsterdam Centraal - You then travel to Berlin, a city in Europe often compared to New York, as it never sleeps! The locals here are known as the lotus-eaters of Germany as they love nothing more than a good time.

Berlin is pulsating with museums, tasty beer, and an unimaginable history! It's safe to say that Berlin is a city loved by those planning their ultimate Europe trip. Remember that history will greet you at every corner, as Berlin once staged a revolution, headquartered by Nazis, bombed to bits, divided in two and then finally reunited.

Its a short 4 hour journey to your first "Eastern" city - the wonderful Prague. It's no secret that Prague is one of Europe's most magical, affordable and beautiful cities, a perfect addition to any interrail route. The 'City of a Thousand Spires' is an architectural gem, the city has been an important UNESCO World Heritage Site which attracts more and more tourists every year!

The narrow streets open up onto fantastic squares which host to medieval-looking homes and historical buildings for you to explore! Start in the centre of the Old Town, home to the major sights and has been the city's main marketplace for a millennium. If you're planning to travel to Europe, have Prague on your list, which is why it's a stop on this trip!

Board your train and head back West again. Your Essence of Europe trip continues in Cologne, most of this city was destroyed during WW2, most of Germany has suffered at least once in the past! The colorful Old Town is wonderful to wander around, especially when you consider what it has survived.

Relax with a beer by the river, and join the queue to photograph the picturesque houses near St Martin's Church. Much like the rest of Europe, Cologne is embracing the trend of specialty coffee, seek out those small businesses putting their mark on roasting high quality, delicious quality coffee!

You can't travel to Europe without stopping in Bruges! Our Essence of Europe trip ends in the city that some call an open-air museum, and to be honest, it's easy to understand why. The city centre is a UNESCO cultural heritage, masterpieces can be found all around town and a vibrant atmosphere exists 24/7

Feast your eyes on the beauty that surrounds you in this Belgian city. Simply wander in one of the many winding, small streets and go where your feet take you. We recommend that you visit the Magdalena Church, it's not your average house of God, but it has to be at the top of your list!
