Dating back to the 14th century, the markets take place on Marienplatz. Traditional Bavarian Christmas gifts, including wood carvings from Oberammergau, Lebkuchen, crib figurines, bee-wax candles, chimney sweeps made of plums and almonds are just some of the many traditional items on display.
