Day 1 : HUMANTAY LAKE TOUR

Location: Humantay Lake

Early in the morning at 4:00 hrs, we will be picked up from the hotel in Cusco and we will begin our trip in tourist transport to head northeast of the city of Cusco. On the way we will pass through different towns and hamlets until the town of Limatambo, from this point we will ascend to the town of Mollepata. Place where we will have our buffet breakfast, then we will continue in our transport for about one more hour until we reach the end of the road to Soraypampa.

Arriving in Soraypampa, our guide will give us the respective recommendations and will give us our walking stick and here we will begin our walk towards the Humantay Lake.

The walk lasts approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. If you wish, you can rent horses on the route (pay in cash and soles and at your own expense) arriving at the Humantay Lagoon, which is located at 4,200 meters (around 13,780 feet), we will be able to appreciate the beautiful landscape, the imposing view of the Humantay and Salkantay snow-capped mountains.

After a break, we will take all the photos we want, our guide will explain more about the place and its enigmatic views. Later we will return by the same route walking again to Soraypampa, we will take our vehicle and return to Mollepata, in this place we will enjoy a delicious lunch.

Finally we will return to the city of Cusco and we will leave you at a point near the Plaza de Armas arriving at 17:30 hrs. Approx.

Day 2 : TOUR TO MACHU PICCHU FULL DAY BY TRAIN

Location: Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu

Early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco, depending on the schedule of our train, and we will travel to the Ollantaytambo train station (a car ride of approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes). [If the train leaves from Poroy, the car ride is 30 minutes, and then you will take a 3-and-a-half-hour train ride.]

Upon arrival at the Poroy or Ollantaytambo station, we will board the train bound for the town of Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu town. During our train ride, we will enjoy spectacular landscapes, imposing mountains, rivers and a great variety of flora and fauna typical of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town), an agency staff member (guide or transfer) will be waiting for us to provide all the necessary instructions while we head to the bus station, where we will board the bus that makes a zigzag ride for 30 minutes through the mountain to the entrance of the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu 2,430 above sea level (7,970 feet).

When we get off the bus we will meet up with the group and head to the entrance checkpoint, where we must present our ticket and identification document. Next, we will begin a guided tour of the citadel of Machu Picchu for approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. The guide will tell you the fascinating history of the Incas, the impressive architecture and the deep spiritual meaning of this place, while we explore the most emblematic corners and enjoy the panoramic views and take the opportunity to take unforgettable photos of this world wonder.

At the end of the tour, we will take the bus back to the town of Aguas Calientes where we can enjoy lunch (not included) in one of the restaurants or spend free time in the town, visit the local medicinal hot springs or visit the craft market.

In the afternoon according to our train schedule, we will go to the train station to board our return train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo (approx. 2 hours) or to Poroy (3 hours).hours and 30 minutes approx.), where the agency staff will be waiting for us to transport us to the city of Cusco. We will arrive in the city of Cusco at approximately 8:30 p.m., closing a day full of discovery and adventure. Hotel night in Cusco.
