Visit Kalpitiya and go on a whale watching tour and do Bar Reef Snorkeling or Scubadiving. Go on a Safari in Bundala park, Wilpattu Park and Kaudulla Park. Visit the Ancient cities of Dambulla, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya and Kandy. Get to know the spices of Sri Lanka at the Matale Spice center. Visit Royal Botanic Gardens of Peradeniya, and take the Scenic Train ride to Nuwara Eliya from Kandy. Hike to the famous Horton Plains, and trekking at Ella. Take a ride in the Flying Ravana Zipline, and visit the Nine Arches Bridge, Demodara Loop, and Dunhinda Falls.

Day 1 : Airport/ Kalpitiya

Day 2 : Kalpitiya

After breakfast go on a Whale watching tour.
The season to view the Whales at Kalpitiya Peninsula is from November to April. Out of these months, Early-March to April is the peak months in the movement of Whales.
After a local lunch go for Scubadiving or Snorkeling.
The best time in Kalpitiya is from November to April. The Bar Reef is the largest coral reef in Sri Lanka.

Day 3 : Kalpitiya/ Wilpaththu National Park/ Anuradhapura

After breakfast check out from the hotel and go on the Safari at Wilpaththu National park. There are approximately 30 species of mammals in the Wilpattu National Park which include the Sri Lankan Elephant, Sri Lankan Leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya), Lankan Sloth Bear, Spotted Deer, Buffalo, Sambar, and Mongoose.
Ruins of ancient civilizations are scattered throughout the park, the most popular being the ruins that are believed to be the Palace of Queen Kuweni of Sri Lanka.
Have local lunch and proceed to Anuradhapura, and check-in at the hotel.

Day 4 : Anuradhapura

Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will visit Atamasthana, Isurumuniya, Mihintale, and the Stone Bridge (Gal Palama) in Anuradhapura.
Isurumuniya is most famous for the stone carving of a couple located there. This carved stone was found in the royal pleasure garden and brought here.
Mihintale architecture includes Kanthaka chetiya Vahalkada, Alms Hall, Ancient Stairway, Arahat Mahinda Cave, Kalu Diya pokuna, and at ancient Hospital.
The Stone Bridge is made with rock blocks cast out of rock outcrops of the ancient city of Anuradhapura is a classic example of engineering marvels that the ancestors of Sri Lankans were able to achieve.

Day 5 : Anuradhapura/ Polonnaruwa/ Sigiriya

After breakfast check-out and proceed to Polonnaruwa.
Polonnaruwa was the thriving commercial and religious center of Sri Lanka some 800 years ago.
Royal Palace Group-buildings dates from the period of King Parakramabahu I (1153 – 1186). The King`s Royal Palace is a massive structure, measuring 31 m by 13 m, once including 50 rooms supported by 30 columns. Even today it is quite an impressive building, but picture it being 7 floors tall with 3 m thick walls.
The king`s Audience Hall is one of the best-preserved structures in the Royal Palace Group, with beautiful stone carved elephants on the walls.
Rankot Vihara is a huge dagaba in excellent condition, of impressive 54 meters tall! It is the largest dagaba in Polonnaruwa, the fourth largest in Sri Lanka.
If time permits climb Pidurangala rock to view the sunset.

Day 6 : Sigiriya

Early breakfast and climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
Sigiriya today is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site. It is one of the best-preserved examples of ancient urban planning.
Local Lunch and afterward a Safari in Kaudulla National Park which is one of the best national parks to spot Elephants in Sri Lanka.
Dinner and overnight in Sigiriya.
Day 7 : Sigiriya/ Dambulla, Matale/ Kandy

Check-out after breakfast and proceed to Dambulla which is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka.
Then visit a spice garden in Matale to see many different types of spices Sri Lanka is famous for.

In the evening enjoy the thrilling performance of Kandyan dance, which is the national dance of Sri Lanka. It perfectly portrays the ancient culture, tradition, and rituals of the country.

Day 8 : Kandy

After breakfast visit Kandy Dalada Maligawa (The Temple of the Tooth Relic). It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha.

After lunch visit Botanic Gardens of Kandy. It is near the Mahaweli River. It is renowned for its collection of orchids.

Day 9 : Kandy/ Nuwara Eliya

After an early breakfast, you will be transported to the nearby Kandy or Peradeniya railway station at approximately 8 am (station chosen is subject to ticket availability). Enjoy the views of rolling green fields of tea as you travel on a scenic train journey from Kandy/ Peradeniya to Nanu Oya.

In the evening visit, Moon Plains National Park also called Sandatanne and Sandagalatanne. This is the newest attraction in Nuwara Eliya and opened in 2014, located just a few kilometers from Nuwara Eliya.

After breakfast visit Horton Plains.
It offers some great hiking opportunities over plateaus covered with grass, areas of thick forest, rock landscape, waterfalls, and lakes.
The Horton Plains plateau comes to a sudden end at World's End, a stunning escarpment that plunges 880m. The walk here is 4km, but the trail then loops back to Baker's Falls (2km) and continues back to the entrance (another 3.5km). The 9.5km round trip takes a leisurely three hours.

Visit to village of Shanthipura. This is the highest village in the entire island, located at an altitude of 7339 feet on the Kikiliyamana Mountain road from Nuwara Eliya.
Day 11 : Nuwara Eliya/ Ella

Visit Piduruthalagala after breakfast. Piduruthalagala is the highest mountain in Sri Lanka being over 8000 feet. You are literally in the clouds and weather changes from moment to moment. You can drive all the way up to the peak by vehicle. It is not a difficult drive and the whole journey back and forth will take around one hour. The experience is well worth the effort.

Go on the Flying Ravana zipline. It's said to be Sri Lanka's very first zip-line with a distance of about 500 meters.
