Tour Overview
Tsum valley trek & Manaslu circuit are restricted trekking trails. Tsum valley has a pristine lifestyle to explore and Manaslu has the longest high pass called “Larkey La ”. The trek to Tsum Valley takes you into the majestic surroundings of the Ganesh Himal, Shringi Himal, and Boudha Himal ranges in the near sight. Trekking in this remote part of Nepal with a centuries old trading route with Tibet has an interesting mix of culture and nature. Tibet is accessible from both Tsum valley and Numbri valley. Nubri valley is on the Manaslu side of the Manaslu Tsum Valley Trekking route. Manaslu Tsum Valley Trekking has villages which once being part of Tibet look completely different from what you will find elsewhere inside Nepal. Manaslu Tsum Valley Trekking route has a mixed beauty of nature and culture. This valley is mixed with natural architecture of Nepalese & Tibetan landscape. But the culture and tradition of the residents is similar to Tibetan people. The people of Tsum Valley or the Tsumbas belong to Tibetan origin with their own ancient form of dialect, art, culture and religion. Villages in this part of Nepal do not have road transportation, as developed. Thus, people still use mules and Yaks to transport stuff. Tsum Valley lies on the northern part of Manaslu and used to be the only restricted area in the region until 2008. The region is less exposed in comparison to other touristy areas, with relatively virgin and less beaten paths in comparison to the more popular regions of trekking in Nepal. The Tsum people have their own way of family life, which may be quite surprising for many outsiders. All the brothers in the family are married to a single girl, what you may call a practice of polyandry.
