Day 1 : Snagov
Location: Snagov, Sinaia

1. Snagov Monastery (the Tomb of Dracula) 2. Peles Castle 3. Sinaia Monastery 4. Overnight in Brasov
In this private tour you will discover the highly controversial story about the death of Vlad Tepes tells us that a group of monks were able to secretly bring the ruler’s earthly remains to Snagov Monastery and bury them in front of the altar to be sanctified.
If have decided to write your memoirs or you want to brag about having seen the most beautiful castles in Europe, the Romanian royal family’s summer residence is, by far, one of the most important tourist attractions in Romania and in Europe, and you will soon understand why.
Any trip to Romania and any vacation in Romania should include Sinaia Monastery, as one of the many Romanian tourist attractions with great spiritual and historical value. The monastery is located in the city with the same name, only 500 m away from Peles Castle and fairly close to Bucharest.
The orthodox establishment is over 300 years old and it is dubbed as “the Cathedral of the Carpathians” due to its positioning in the most beautiful mountain resort in Romania surrounded by a stunning mountain scenery. It was also the first construction in this territory, founded by Prince (Spatarul) Mihai Cantacuzino. He decided to erect the house of worship following a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, with its name inspired by Mount Sinai.

Day 2 : Brasov
Location: Brasov, Bran, Rupea

1. Brasov City Tour 2. Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle) 3. Rupea Fortress 4. Overnight in Sighisoara
Are you looking for a different urban experience through which you can explore history, culture, and rediscover the beauty of nature, all at the same time? The city of Brasov is the ideal destination for lovers of history, music and culture, adventure, good food, winter sports, hunting, hiking, and even romance. It is the quintessential mountain adventure.
In Brasov we will have a small brake, perfect for exploring a little bit the Old Town and you have enough tine for lunch. 90 minute break in Brasov City!
You are in Romania, Transylvania region so…we pay a visit to Dracula ☺
Once you see it in person, you will understand why this castle is a symbol of Romanian tourism and why it is the most visited tourist attraction in Romania, so come and join Livram Timp!
A 14th century fortress!

Rupea Fortress is a medieval fortress built by Transylvanian Saxons and first mentioned by a 1324 document. It is situated on a 120 m high basalt cliff, to the west of the Transylvanian town of Rupea in Romania.

Day 3 : Sighisoara
Location: Sighisoara, Biertan, Alba Iulia

1. Sighisoara City Tour 2. Biertan Fortified Church 3. Alba Iulia City Tour 4. Overnight in Sibiu
We start the morning with a tour of Sighisoara Old Town and we’ll have the chance to visit Clock Tower, and Arms museum. If you want to go back in time and catch a glimpse of what life was like in the Middle Ages, you absolutely have to visit Sighisoara, Romania’s medieval town, and Count Dracula’s (actually, Vlad the Impaler) place of birth.
Built in 1280, the Sighisoara Citadel is not just one of the most visited tourist attractions in Romania, it is a living, breathing medieval fortress, since it has remained inhabited for over 700 years – which is quite rare.
The Biertan Fortified Church, a historical monument of breathtaking beauty, was one of the first Transylvanian Saxon settlements in Ardeal, and today it is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Hundreds of tourists come here every year, and coming here you too will find out what makes this place special.
Located in a small town that dates back to 1224, the church impresses through its stunning scenery and particular construction – built on a hillock in the center of town, surrounded by three defensive walls and 7 bastions.
The city of Alba-Iulia, located in Central Romania is the site of an old Vauban-style fortress, considered impossible to conquer due to the 7-corner star model designed by the great French engineer, veteran, and architect Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban.
The Alba Carolina citadel, an important destination on our Castles of Romania tour, is surrounded by three lines of fortification and its remarkable architecture make it one of the most representative fortresses in Romania; it is also one of the largest of its kind in Eastern Europe.

Day 4 : Sibiu
Location: Sibiu, Calimanesti, Arefu, Curtea de Arges

1. Sibiu City Tour 2. Transfagarasan Road (July-October) or Calimanesti Natural Springs 3. Poienari Fortress 4.Bucharest
A city tour to help you understand why Sibiu was elected as the European Capital of Culture, it includes the Evangelical Cathedral, the Sibiu Old City Center and the town itself, which are among the most visited tourist attractions in Romania, because they cater to every taste and provide a wonderful travelling experience for even the pickiest of tourists.
If you love authentic cultural experiences, whether you are more romantic or more adventurous, here you will find everything you need to relax and enjoy yourself, leave the stress of your everyday life behind, and have a fun and memorable trip.
If you catch a tour of the Romanian monasteries and you reach the Cozia Monastery you will understand why thousands of tourists are eager to see it. Guarded for over 600 years, on one side by the Olt river, on the other by mount Cozia, the fortified walls of this ancient monastery that have protected us from invaders in the past seem to preserve the Garden of Eden, a place of mystery and mythical beauty…
From Calimanesti Spring you can treat you by liver problems only by drinking water from where Napoleon III use to drink ☺
We buckle up and venture up the 1400 steps to reach the Poienari Citadel (the “real” Castle of Dracula) which was the place where Vlad the Impaler would retreat in the event of an Ottoman invasion. We stop to take pictures to bring home to our friends, knowing that they will make them a little jealous.
The Vidraru Dam is one of the most spectacular tourist attractions in Romania, which draws in hundreds of thousands of tourists annually. A wonder of engineering, it offers a breathtaking view of the reservoir lake built on Arges River.

Nicolas is a 5-star-plus guide!...

09-Oct-2023

Nicolas is a 5-star-plus guide! Highly recommended! Whatever time period you are interested in, ancient, recent history, or modern times, Nicolas can take you on the journey. He has a gifted way to explain situations in a contextual and approachable way, sprinkled with some humor. He also took us a bit off the beaten path, showing neighbourhoods and giving us a "taste" of Romania, quite literally (Omnomnom)! Recommended for the Bucharest city tour, and he also does tours in the rest of Romania! Thanks for a great tour Nicolas!
