Explore China: From Beijing to Hong Kong

After spending one week with colleagues, we traveled for one week further in Japan utilizing Odynovo’s excellent advice, coordination and customization. Our agent, Cathy Hou, was the best! My family had a trip of a lifetime in mainland China thanks to Odynovo. The agent, David Tan, responded promptly to my inquiry about touring multiple cities and created a wonderful itinerary. On arrival to each city we were warmly greeted by our tour guides and drivers. In Guilin, our tour guide Merrick (Li) went above & beyond to give us a well rounded tour. He taught us about the diverse culture & history of Guilin with much compassion & enthusiasm. We thoroughly enjoyed the Li River cruise, Karst Landscapes, West Street, Impression Lui Sanjie night show, bicycle tour around Yangshuo, as well as the Reed Flute Cave. I highly recommend Merrick (Li) in Guilin as well as Oynovo for any traveling plans to mainland China.

Our party of seven spent a short three days in Beijing. We had ages 16 to 85 in our group. We hired two guides, one to lead and one to follow. This worked out great, as if part of our party wanted to slow down or skip parts of a tour they could. Odynovo thoughtfully arranged for one male and one female guide, which helped worked best for our mixed group. The guides John and Linda were great! We visited the "checkbox" landmarks: Forbidden City, Beijing Houtongs, Great Wall (Munianyu), Summer Palace, and a drive by of the Birds Nest and Tiannmen Square. John picked out the highlights of each location, knowing that our party needed to minimize walking & wheelchair pushing. John also took feedback on the level of historical detail that the teens could take, and adjusted/paced the tour accordingly. Linda filled in interesting tour tidbits, and really helpd keep the party comfortable by purchasing snacks on the go. Both guided our party right to our seats on the bullet train to Shanghai. With their friendly hosting and consistently helpfulness, John and Linda made the most of our party's time in Beijing. One of the most helpful tips came from John. We were staying at the Peninsula. John pointed out a duck restaurant across the street as being both excellent and inexpensive. Our party ended up eating there three nights, averaging ten courses. The food was indeed excellent, the atmosphere more realistic of China, and the prices were amazingly reasonable. On the part of Odynovo Tours, Cathy was a pleasure to work with arranging and timing the Beijing tours. Cathy adjusted the locations and timing of our visists to our party's needs, even though our requests did not align with the existing packages Odynovo offers. Cathy's email responses were timely, allowing us to optimize the itinerary even though the whole trip was somewhat of a last-minute booking. Overall, I would recommend Odynovo tours. I'd suggest procuring two guides for the best personal experience. And I hope whoever books can get John and Linda.

Gina Liu Has been an incredible travel consultant since I have been using Odynovo. I have booked a couple of extended international trips with her and she has been a wonderful partner and a very useful resource when traveling. Incredible experience! We took a 22 day custom tour and spent 2 days in Xian. The city has a lot to offer apart from the Terracota warriors and its Wall, which were also breathtaking. Jessie our guide was the most knowledgable in terms of history, societal history, with the perfect balance of being professional but at the same time familiar. With her excellent comunication skills she provided the best frame within which we had the chance to emerge fully in the great experiences that this city has to offer. 10/10 would recomend.
