Tour Overview

Day 1: Arrival in Luang Prabang Upon arrival at Luang Prabang International Airport, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel for check-in. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, soaking in the serene atmosphere of this UNESCO World Heritage city. Day 2: Discovering Luang Prabang Begin your day with an optional experience of the morning alms-giving ceremony, a spiritual tradition unique to Laos. Visit key temples including Wat Visoun, Wat Aham, and the iconic Wat Xieng Thong. Explore the Royal Palace Museum to learn about the history of Laos, followed by a visit to Wat Mai. Conclude the day browsing handmade crafts at the vibrant Luang Prabang night market. Day 3: Kuang Si Falls & Villages Visit Phou Si Market to discover local produce, then journey to the stunning Kuang Si Waterfalls. Enjoy a refreshing dip or relax amidst nature. Visit a bear rescue center and explore nearby villages to observe traditional weaving and farming techniques. End the day at the Living Crafts Centre for a deeper appreciation of Lao craftsmanship. Day 4: Nong Khiew & Muang Ngoy Drive to Nong Khiew, stopping at Nam Bak Market and Ban Nayang, a village known for its skilled weavers. Board a long-tail boat for a scenic ride along the Nam Ou River to Muang Ngoy. Explore this tranquil riverside village and spend the night in a simple but charming guesthouse. Day 5: Pak Ou Caves & Luang Prabang Return Take a morning boat ride back to Nong Khiew, visiting Houi Hoy village en route to experience authentic rural life. Continue to the Pak Ou Caves, famed for their thousands of Buddha statues nestled in limestone caverns. Return to Luang Prabang for an evening at leisure. Day 6: Elephant Village & Train to Vang Vieng Visit Elephant Village, where you can learn about these gentle giants and observe them in their natural habitat. Day 3 : Luang Prabang – Phou Si Market - Kuang Si Fall

Day 4 : Luang Prabang – Nong Khiew - Muang Ngo

This morning, drive to Nong Khiew (~4h). Stop along the way to visit Nam Bakmarket and the weaving Ban Nayang village. Arrival in Nong Khiew. Lunch on yourown. In the afternoon, embark on long tail boat for a relaxing cruise (~1h30mns) on NamOu river. Enjoy the beauty of landscape along the banks of river. The cruise leadsyou to a village where you learn about local life and culture. Then continue cruisingto Muong Ngoy where you overnight in local guesthouse. Meals on your own. Day 5 : Muang Ngoy – Pak Ou Cave - Luang Prabang

Everything about this tour was well thought out, from the airport transfers to the detailed itinerary. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to answer questions. The Elephant Village was a highlight, as was the sunset drink after visiting Kuang Si Falls. The guesthouse in Muang Ngoy was basic but clean and gave us a taste of rural life. If you love natural beauty and authentic travel experiences, this tour is for you. The views along the Nam Ou River and at Tham Jang Cave were incredible. I also enjoyed meeting locals at the markets and villages – it felt like stepping back in time. The guesthouse in Muang Ngoy was simple but added to the charm of the experience.
