Day 1 : Arrival In Arequipa

Once we arrive in Arequipa, we will be pick up and transfer to the hotel. After check-in at the hotel, we will have free morning for shopping or resting.
**NOTE: recommended to arrive before 11am**
Afternoon:. Arequipa City tour
In the afternoon, around 13:30h we will start our Arequipa city tour, we will Visit the Monastery of Santa Catalina, then we will visit the Plaza de Armas, one of the most beautiful in Peru, the Jesuit Church of the Company, which in its beautiful façade announces the so-called mestizo architecture, its cloisters and dome, the Tristan del Pozo house and at the end and for a magnificent view from the city we will visit the typical districts of Carmen alto and Yanahuara. (Mirador and Church). We will be back in Arequipa around 6pm.

Day 2: Fullday:. Colca Canyon Tour

We leave Arequipa between 2:30-3:00am, will drive for 3 hours northwest behind the Chachani to Chivay, capital of the Colca Canyon. Where we will have breakfast.
We continue driving for 2 hours at the most famous spot in the Colca Canyon "La Cruz del Condor". This is where we see the depth of the canyon and the flight of the Condor. The area has beautiful typical villages like Yanque and Maca, colonial churches, friendly people with dresses and hats with typical sewing, and hundreds of pre-Inca terraces that are still in use with Andean crops such as corn, quinoa and amaranth. Already in Chivay at noon, there is an optional visit to the hot springs of La Calera, with pools that have a water temperature of 40 ° C / 104 ° F.
Once in Chivay we will have a traditional lunch and after lunch we will travel to back to Arequipa. We stop on the way, on the highest step: the viewpoint of the volcanoes and snow-capped mountains in Patapampa (4,800m). Later we will see wild vicunas, alpacas and llamas in the national reserve of Pampa Cañahuas and some birds like flamingos, ibis, Andean geese, ducks and eagles Andean Quechua called "Kara Kara". Finally we arrive at the city of Arequipa at the end of the afternoon, at approximately 17:00.

Pick up from our accommodation around 8am and transfer to the ashlar quarries in the district of Cerro Colorado. At 7am, pick up from our accommodation in Arequipa to start our tour to Reserve Salinas. At a distance of 120km from the city of Arequipa and 4 hours of travel approx. Laguna de Salinas is a high salt Andean lake that receives the waters of an endorheic basin, located between snowy mountains and volcanoes. Open peat bogs known as bofedales surround the lagoon, being an important plant formation for grazing native camelids such as vicunas and llamas, as well as habitat for the endemic fish Orestias agassizii. The Chilean flamingo Phoenicopterus chilensis, the small parina Phoenicoparrus jamesi, and the threatened large parina Phoenicoparrus andinus are abundant in the wetland, reaching 20,000 individuals during the rainy season.
