Day 1 - London To Nuremberg
Meet at our London St Pancras Departure Office and take the
Eurostar to Brussels. Continue via Frankfurt to Nuremberg, where
you spend the night.
Day 2 - Arrive In Vienna
On Day 2, continue to Vienna, Austria's illustrious capital.
Enjoy free time after checking into your hotel; maybe take an
evening stroll and take in the sights and sounds of the city.
Day 3 - Exploring Vienna
Discover Vienna, exploring the historic centre on foot. After
seeing the sights, including the grandiose public buildings of the
Ringstrasse and the Baroque Belvedere Palace, set out to explore on
your own. Perhaps visit Mozarthaus, where legendary composer lived.
Tour the apartment where 'The Marriage of Figaro' was composed,
admiring the décor which has been carefully curated to replicate
the feel of 18th-century Vienna.
Day 4 - Vienna
You are free on Day 4. Why not visit
Schönbrunn Palace? Set in hundreds of acres of beautiful gardens,
the palace is one of Vienna's architectural highlights and boasts
UNESCO World Heritage status. Designed in 1695, the gardens feature
one of the world's largest orangeries, and a palm house with plants
from around the world. Or, you could take the lift up Danube Tower,
with its 492-foot viewing terrace, to admire panoramic views of
Vienna's skyline.
Day 5 - Discover Prague
Take the train to Prague, where you're introduced to the 'Golden
City' on a guided walking tour. Discover the historic Old Town
Square, with its cobblestones and pastel buildings. The square is a
feast for the senses; enjoy the scent of delicious food wafting
from nearby cafés and stalls, perhaps be serenaded by a street
musician, and admire the artistic statues and fountains. You also
see Charles Bridge, which dates back to the 14th century and
features 30 Baroque statues.
Day 6 - Prague
Step back in time on Day 6 with a
visit to the medieval Hradcany Castle district, the largest castle
complex in Europe. Here you'll discover Prague Castle, which serves
as the seat of the Czech president. You'll also see St Vitus
Cathedral, the Basilica of Saint George, the Royal Summer Palace,
and the Royal Gardens. Later, you're free to explore Prague at your
own pace.
Day 7 - Berlin
Travel by rail to Berlin, enjoying a scenic journey as you wind
through the Elbe Valley and an area of rocky gorges known as 'Saxon
Switzerland'. Spend three nights in Berlin, a once-divided city
which occupies a significant place in modern history and offers a
blend of great attractions and vibrant culture.
Day 8 - Berlin
Take a coach tour of Berlin, discovering the stories of this
remarkable city. See the remains of the Berlin Wall, a poignant
reminder of the city's turbulent past that is decorated with
colourful street art. You also see the Brandenburg Gate. A
spectacular 18thcentury neoclassical monument and the city's oldest
surviving gate, today it is a symbol of unity in Germany. Your
afternoon is free to explore.
Day 9 - Berlin
Day 9 is free to explore. Perhaps visit
the Checkpoint Charlie Museum which details the history of the
Berlin Wall. Or, you could visit Potsdam, famed for its palaces and
Park Sanssouci - a Baroque flower garden. Make sure you also find
the time to try a Bratwurst or pretzel for an authentic taste of
German cuisine.
Day 10 - Berlin & London
Leaving Berlin by rail, travel via Cologne to Brussels where you
board the Eurostar to London St Pancras.
