Tour Overview
Corfu, the largest of Greece’s Ionian Islands, beckons travelers with its captivating blend of natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. From its stunning landscapes to its historic architecture, Corfu offers an unforgettable experience for every visitor. The heart of Corfu lies in its preserved old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its majestic Venetian buildings, secluded squares, and narrow cobbled streets. As you wander through this historic area, you’ll be transported back in time, marvelling at the architectural splendour and vibrant atmosphere.Â
Beyond the bustling coastlines, Corfu’s interior reveals a hidden paradise of countryside trails, quaint villages, and lush wooded hillsides. Particularly in spring, the island transforms into a verdant haven, adorned with the vibrant hues of yellow and purple flowers from eastern Mediterranean shrubs. This untouched landscape offers a serene escape for nature lovers and adventurers alike.Â
The island's allure has inspired many, including the famous Durrell family, who made Corfu their home. Their affection for the island is immortalized in numerous literary works and the creation of the Corfu Trail—a scenic path that meanders through Corfu’s diverse terrains, offering breath-taking views and a chance to immerse in its natural beauty.
A short ferry ride from Corfu takes you to Albania, where you can explore the remarkable, yet often overlooked, World Heritage Site of Butrint. This ancient city offers a fascinating glimpse into the past, with well-preserved ruins set amidst stunning landscapes, making it a perfect day trip for history enthusiasts and curious travellers.
