Tour Overview
This holiday is a great combination of our 7 night Tenerife and our popular 9 night La Gomera holidays.
Tenerife, a captivating island of contrasts! Your base in San Cristobal de la Laguna offers exploration on foot, revealing the island's architectural gems, including the impressive cathedral. Venture beyond to the rugged Anaga Peninsula, where sheer ridges and green mountains boast breathtaking sea views.
A highlight awaits as you ascend Mount Teide Volcano by cable car, reaching the summit for unparalleled views at the Pico Viejo viewpoint. Afterward, a leisurely day unfolds on the lower slopes and the iconic Roques de Garcia.
Choose from our Grade 4 and Grade 6 walks, offering flexibility in your exploration.
Despite Tenerife's popularity, your journeys lead to lesser-known trails, unveiling the island's history shaped by Mount Teide's eruptions. The result is a rugged, volcanic landscape that adds a unique charm to your walks.
After your first week you move on to spend 9 nights discovering the wild landscapes, dramatic scenery, deserted beaches and sleepy mountain villages of La Gomera in the best possible way – on foot. A tranquil haven away from bustling tourist hubs, La Gomera, accessible only by ferry, unveils a pristine natural beauty that time seems to have forgotten.
As the ferry approaches from Los Cristianos in Tenerife, initial impressions may deceive, with the island appearing barren. However, hidden gems emerge swiftly, showcasing traditional Canarian white villages, majestic mountains, pine forests, and breathtaking cliffs. La Gomera boasts unique wildlife, adding to the island's allure and providing a genuine pleasure for explorers.
Valle Gran Rey serves as your island hub, a coastal retreat just an hour from San Sebastian, the capital. Nestled along the seafront, your hotel is conveniently close to the beach and the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Garajonay National Park. Short bus rides from the hotel lead to magnificent walks, unveiling the true beauty of valleys and seascapes. Traverse paths alongside mountain streams, winding through fertile valleys teeming with lush vegetation and tropical mountain panoramas. Venture across volcanic mountains for unparalleled island views.
Your holiday begins and ends with a comfortable stay in Costa Adeje, Tenerife. Transfer days between islands incorporate well-planned ferry schedules, allowing time for additional walks and maximising hiking opportunities.
Please note That some of the walks may be a little more challenging if the weather is inclement.
