Today is the first day of your Galapagos Multisport tour. It is necessary to book flights with an early arrival time to Baltra airport to make sure you can enjoy all of the activities of the Galapagos multisport tour. At Baltra airport, an English speaking guide will pick you up to go to the port of Puerto Ayora where you can enjoy your lunch. Around 02:00 PM, you’ll take the small public speedboat to Isabela Island. This can be a bumpy, wet ride so provide yourself a waterproof jacket and motion sickness medication if necessary. Upon arrival on Isabela Island, a driver will pick you up and you’ll visit the Flamingo Lagoon. After that, your driver will drop you off at your hotel.

Day 2 : Sierra Negra Active Volcano Trek – Concha Perla Snorkel
Location: Sierra Negra Volcano

Early in the morning, after breakfast, you’ll take an excursion to the Sierra Negra Volcano. The Sierra Negra Volcano is located 13 miles from Puerto Villamil and has the second largest volcanic crater in the world. To arrive at this incredible sight you will travel by bus for 45 minutes to the Galapagos National Park, where you begin the hike to the Sierra Negra Volcano. You can take your lunch at the volcano and then you return to the hotel. After a brief rest, you’ll have the chance to go snorkeling or swimming at Concha Perla where you can observe the colorful fishes, sea urchins, starfishes, sea lions, or even sea turtle.

Day 3 : Breeding Center – Wall Of Tears – Islet Tintoreras
Location: Isabela Island

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and you will get on the bike to visit the breeding center of giant tortoises and the Wall of Tears. From 1946 to 1959 Isabela was designated a penal colony by the Ecuadorian government. The prisoners were forced to build this wall with huge lava rocks. After this, you return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon you will sail to Islet Tintoreras. It is called this way because in this place there are sharks with white fins, known as Tintoreras. You can also observe penguins, sea lions, marine iguanas and you can go snorkeling with sharks and a variety of multicolored fish.

Day 4 : Kayak In Puerto Villamil – Isabela Island Highlands
Location: Isabela Island

Today you will head to the bay of Puerto Villamil together with the guide. Here you will go kayaking to visit the coastal zona, and you will have the opportunity to observe and photograph marine iguanas, sea lions and penguins. Then, after a short break, you return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, you will get on your bike again and go to the top of the island to visit Cave Sucre (biking), the Mango viewpoint, and Campo Duro. Here you can see and approach the giant tortoises in their natural habitat.

Day 5 : Transfer Out – Baltra

What is the weather like in Ecuador?
There are two seasons in Ecuador, rainy and dry. The temperature will range between regions and depending on their altitude. You can travel to Ecuador year-round. Here, is a brief explanation of the weather in Ecuador: Amazon In the Amazon region, there is rain during the whole year. Two relatively drier periods can be distinguished in the months of January and February and August and September. The western part of the Amazon region is rainiest than the eastern part. The temperatures vary mostly between 23 °C and 27 °C. Andes The Ecuadorian Andes is a mountain range between 1.500 meters and 6.310 meters high. Most of the cities in the Andes are located at an altitude between 2.000 and 3.000 meters. The temperature in the cities varies mostly between 15 °C and 20 °C. The drier season in the Andes is in the months of June, July, August, and September. Pacific Coast The northwest coast of Ecuador has a wet tropical seasonal climate. The wet season is from December through May. Along the Ecuadorian coast, rainfall drops from north to south. To the south, the climate becomes increasingly drier. There is a rainy season in the first months of the year and an almost dry season from May to December. The temperatures vary from 25 °C to 31 °C. Galapagos Islands The climate of the Galápagos Islands is subtropical. There is a warm season from December through May and a cool season from June through November. What is the local currency?
The local currency in Ecuador is the US Dollar. You can use your credit card in the main tourist areas and in the big hotels. In the ATM, your European or American cards usually work, but there is a maximum of 500 USD that you can take each day. We advise you to bring dollars in cash. In Ecuador, you only get 5, 10, or 20 USD bills out from the ATM. Also, change is a big problem, so please be careful when you carry 50 and 100 USD bills.
