Day 1 : San Cristobal – Free Afternoon

Location: San Cristobal

Accommodation Name: Hotel Casa Opuntia or similar

Today you will arrive to the airport of San Cristobal, one of the Galapagos Islands here starts your Galapagos Expedition. You will be picked up at the airport and transferred by private transport with an English speaking contact person to your hotel in the town Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. Here you will have a meet & greet with one of our staff members who will explain the rest of the itinerary to you. The rest of the afternoon is free to explore the town, or walk to the interpretation center, the beaches or Tijeretas.

Day 2 : Kicker Rock

Location: Kicker Rock

Accommodation Name: Hotel Casa Opuntia or similar

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Today you will have a day tour to Kicker Rock, with lunch and snorkeling equipment included. After the transport, the boat will anchor and you will jump of the boat to snorkel the canal in between the rock formation. Here you will be able to spot different shark species (sometimes even hammerheads!). turtles, rays, and more. After snorkeling you will continue to Manglecito or a similar beach. This white coral beach offers the opportunity to walk around and relax and swim in shallow waters before returning to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. You will have a box lunch on board.

Day 3 : El Junco – Puerto Chino – La Galapaguera

Location: San Cristobal

Today you will have a half day tour to the highlands of San Cristobal. In about 30 minutes your driver brings you to your first stop: El Junco Crater Lake, the only freshwater lake on the Galapagos Islands. Afterwards you continue driving to Puerto Chino, a beautiful white sanded beach. Here you can make a small walk passing the lazy sea lions that sleep on the beach, towards the blue footed boobies on the rocks. You will walk back to the car so you can continue to La Galapaguera, a breeding center with very nice wooden walkways and clear indications. After the tour you will have lunch and the the driver brings you back to your hotel.

Day 4 : Santa Cruz – Bay Tour – Academy Bay – La Loberia

Location: Santa Cruz Island

In the morning you will transfer to the harbor to take the public speedboat to go to Santa Cruz Island. Upon arrival there you will be transferred to your hotel, where you will have a meet & greet with a staff member. In the afternoon after lunch, you have a Santa Cruz Bay tour included. During the tour you are going with a boat to Academy Bay, where you can swim and snorkel with sea lions and all kind of colorful fish, also known as La Lobería. You can see the blue footed boobies who are resting at the edge of the cliffs. If you climb to the viewpoint and if you are lucky, you can see white-tipped reed sharks swimming.

Day 5 : North Seymour / Bartolome / Plazas Or Santa Fe

For any tour booked with Rebecca Adventure Travel, the final payment must be paid 60 days before your date of travel. In order to confirm a tour more than 60 days in advance, a 30% deposit is required. Afterward, the final payment is due 60 days before travel. If your travel date is in less than 60 days, the total amount is due in order to confirm. The most common method of payment is by bank transfer or credit card. For any tour booked on the Rebecca Adventure Travel website, 100% of the tour is paid upon confirmation.
What clothing should I bring?

It is always recommended to pack as light as possible, however, the specific requirements for your tour will vary widely depending on where and when you are traveling. In our description trip pages and in our pre-departure documents you can find a suggested packing list.
What is the weather like in Ecuador?

There are two seasons in Ecuador, rainy and dry. The temperature will range between regions and depending on their altitude. You can travel to Ecuador year-round. Here, is a brief explanation of the weather in Ecuador: Amazon In the Amazon region, there is rain during the whole year. Two relatively drier periods can be distinguished in the months of January and February and August and September. The western part of the Amazon region is rainiest than the eastern part. The temperatures vary mostly between 23 °C and 27 °C. Andes The Ecuadorian Andes is a mountain range between 1.500 meters and 6.310 meters high. Most of the cities in the Andes are located at an altitude between 2.000 and 3.000 meters. The temperature in the cities varies mostly between 15 °C and 20 °C. The drier season in the Andes is in the months of June, July, August, and September. Pacific Coast The northwest coast of Ecuador has a wet tropical seasonal climate. The wet season is from December through May. Along the Ecuadorian coast, rainfall drops from north to south. To the south, the climate becomes increasingly drier. There is a rainy season in the first months of the year and an almost dry season from May to December. The temperatures vary from 25 °C to 31 °C. Galapagos Islands The climate of the Galápagos Islands is subtropical. There is a warm season from December through May and a cool season from June through November. The warm season is characterized by a mixture of warmth, rain, and sun. The cool season is a mixture of cloudy, cool, and dry weather. This variation is caused by ocean currents. The temperatures vary from 21 °C in August and September to 28 °C in March and April.
Do I need my own Insurance?

Yes, you do. You are strongly urged to take travel and health insurance, as we and our operators can accept no responsibility for possible accidents or illnesses which may occur during one of our tours. Do I need a passport/visa?

You need a passport with a validation of at least 6 months upon return in Europe or the USA. You can stay in Ecuador without a visa for 90 days every 12 months.
What is the local currency?

The local currency in Ecuador is the US Dollar. You can use your credit card in the main tourist areas and in the big hotels. In the ATM, your European or American cards usually work, but there is a maximum of 500 USD that you can take each day. We advise you to bring dollars in cash. In Ecuador, you only get 5, 10, or 20 USD bills out from the ATM. Also, change is a big problem, so please be careful when you carry 50 and 100 USD bills.
How much luggage is allowed on domestic flights to the Galapagos?

How much luggage is allowed on domestic flights to the Galapagos? Domestic flights to the Galapagos Islands allow only one 23 kg (50 lbs) piece of luggage and one standard piece of carry-on luggage.

For 4 days we were dropped in the jungle by Rebecca. And the greatest experience ever! When they say dropped it is true, in the Amazone you are in the middle of nowhere. We saw so many different types of wildlife, with my personal favorite being a sloth:) The guides, chefs, and transportation were professional and nice. I would recommend this trip to anyone in the future!

Four of us traveled with Rebecca Adventures to Galapagos and Quito. Our tour and guides arranged by RATravel were amazing. We stayed on the islands instead of more popular boat adventures and did not regret. Staying in small hotels and eating in local restaurants was beyond fantastic. The food was fabulous (Bahia Mar, Almar, to name a few). Getting to experience the local culture and night life was an experience of a lifetime. This was the trip of a lifetime! Everything was organized so that every day was better than the last. From hiking up volcanos to see a beautiful crater lake to hiking to a basecamp below a glacier the views were amazing! We also biked down a mountain and went rafting. All the equipment and support along the way was top notch and the people who supported us treated us like family!! This was a trip I will never forget and look forward to booking another trip with them!!!

We just returned from the a family trip to the Galapagos arranged through Rebecca Adventure Travel and have nothing but positive comments. The recommended tours were all spot-on, and the daily itinerary reminders and modifications were perfect. If I go back, I will use Rebecca again. Tips for anyone visiting the Galapagos: bring plenty of cash (in U.S. dollars), as many restaurants do not accept credit cards. And bring an underwater camera. If you are prone to motion sickness, the speedboat rides between islands can be brutal in rough weather. Familiarize yourself with the tipping customs. You will love the Islands, and the Ecuadorians.

Was contracted by our direct booking agency to facilitate mainland and Amazon travel. We got messages about itinerary that conflicted with the one given by our main company and by the schedule of events at the lodges/companies. Treated passive aggressively with snapshots of their itinerary (which we NEVER got a copy of or knew existed) when we asked questions to make sure we had adequate lodging and airport transportation.
