Tour Overview

On this 6 days, you will have enough chance to experience the Wildlife of Tanzania together with it's culture. Big groups of Elephants are found in Tarangire National Park, Big cats in Serengeti National Park groups of big lions are found here, this trip gives you enough time to go up to Lake Eyasi for Hadzabe. This small tribe of nomadic hunter, gatherers are thought to be the earliest primitive inhabitants of Tropical Africa. They have distant links to the Bushmen of the Kalahari and belong to the Khoisan people – those who speak in clicks. They currently live around the Lake Eyasi basin and live purely off the land – hunting wild animals and eating berries, roots, honey and baobab fruit. They own no cattle and no do they do any agriculture, they depend solely on the bush. You will also visit Datoga, who are also skilled silversmith's who live near the Hadza and supply them with iron tips, knives and spears in exchange for honey and fruits. Their origins are the Horn of Africa thought to have immigrated some 3,000 years ago. They wear traditional dress decorated in coloured beads and the women often have facial scarification for beauty.

Highlights

  • Tarangire National Park - The Tarangire National Park is located between the meadows of Masai Steppe to the south east and the lakes of the Great Rift Valley to the north and west. You will obviously see big numbers of elephants gather here as well as the wildebeests and zebras. The impalas also exist in large numbers as well, eland, buffalo and giraffes.Bohor reedbuck, Thompson’s gazelle, greater and lesser kudu and the Coke’s hartebeest. On really some rare occasions, the common usual gerenuk and fringe –eared Oryx are also seen.

  • Serengeti National Park - The Serengeti National Park in Tanzania was established in 1952. It is home to the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth - the great migration of wildebeest and zebra. The resident population of lion, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, and birds is also impressive

  • Ngorongoro Crater - The Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s most famous sites and is said to have the highest concentration of wildlife in Africa. The Crater has achieved world renown, attracting an ever-increasing number of visitors each year. You are unlikely to escape other vehicles here, but you are guaranteed great wildlife viewing in a genuinely mind-blowing environment. There is nowhere else in Africa quite like Ngorongoro! Best sighting for The endangered Black Rhino, Black mane Lions of the crater, Buffalo, Spotted Hyena, Elephants, Hippos, and one of the great sighting of Gray crowned heron.

  • Lake Eyasi - Lake Eyasi is a seasonal shallow endorheic salt lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley at the base of the Serengeti Plateau, just south of the Serengeti National Park and immediately southwest of the Ngorongoro Crater in the Crater Highlands of Tanzania. The lake is elongated, orientated southwest to northeast, and lies in the Eyasi-Wembere branch of the Great Rift Valley Expand map The Hadzabe bushmen live in this region, as do the Datoga and Mbulu tribes. A visit with the bushmen is worthwhile and they will graciously show you where and how they live and hunt. They subsist entirely off the bush and by bow hunting

Dealing with Seven wonders and Evelyn to arrange my safari for the great migration was a pleasure.

I booked within 2 days of arriving in the country and everything was handled from airport pick up right down to the drop off.

The experience of visually seeing the great migration was humbling and profound.

We were lucky we saw the big five and also an array of rare birds.

If you choose to do the overnight camping rather than the lodge options its perhaps more comfortable to bring a few items such as torch, sleeping bag and repellent.

An unforgettable experience.
