Day 2 - BARCELONA

Today we will go on a guided walking tour to explore Barcelona’s city centre, Rambla and the Gothic Quarter.

The long and lively promenade of La Rambla is Spain’s most famous boulevard, cutting through the heart of Barcelona. This wide boulevard connects the Placa de Catalunya, known for its fountains and statues. Restaurants, cafés, market stalls and old-style shops line the boulevard along the way, plus you may find yourself being entertained by live music, dance performances and bewitching human statue art.

Then we will continue our tour to a Christmas Market where we learn about the the Christmas celebrations in Spain. Look out for Tio de Nadal - a small log with a smiley face, wearing the traditional red Catalan hat - the Barretina. According to Catalan mythology, this Christmas Log brings small presents on Christmas.

On our tour we will also learn about belenes (nativity scenes) which are the special exhibition of art objects representing the birth of Jesus and is one of the most antique Spanish Christmas traditions around.

We will finish off our tour with churros and chocolate.

Day 3 - DAY AT LEISURE

Today is free for you to spend however you wish. Relax at the hotel, or explore Barcelona’s historical sights and museums.

The city is famous for its art and architecture, most notably due to the works of Gaudi and Picasso. Colourful buildings and mosaics are everywhere. Gaudi’s famous Sagrada Familia Church has been under construction since 1882 with completion only expected in 2026. Another impressive sight is Parc Guell, another work by Antoni Gaudi with its wonderful views of the city whilst enjoying a stroll among modernist art works.
