DAY 1: Welcome to Bangkok
Today everyone will be arriving at different times depending on flight times. Our team are available for airport transfers between 06:00 and 22:00, and there will be an opportunity to meet as a group in the evening to go for dinner, and an explore around the infamous Khao San Road.
Khao San Road is one of the top tourist/backpacker locations in Bangkok, and is filled with street food stalls, bars, restaurants, clothes stalls, and spas to enjoy.
DAY 2: Bangkok Orientation and Tour
After breakfast, everyone will have an orientation on your time in Thailand. This is a great opportunity to meet everyone else on your trip again before you head out on to the Bangkok Tour with one of our local guides. During the tour you will get to experience a boat journey along the Chaophrayah River to two of Bangkok’s most beautiful temples, Wat Arun (the temple of dawn), and Wat Pho (the reclining Buddha), followed by an optional extra tour around The Grand Palace. At the end of the tour there will also be an option to walk or get a Tuk Tuk back to Khaosan Road, or perhaps explore a different part of Bangkok during the free afternoon/evening.
DAY 3: Transfer to Surin
Today you will be heading to Surin by coach or train. The journey will take around 7 hours, so you have plenty of time to sit back, relax, and watch the Thai countryside go by! On arrival in Surin you will settle into our volunteer housing for the evening, and have an orientation on the days you’re in Surin, and the local area.
DAY 4,5,6 & 7: School Renovation
This week you will be taking part in our School Renovation project. Prepare yourself for four days of tasks such as building perimeter walls, laying pathways and roads, painting playground equipment, vegetable gardening, or erecting small buildings. Our local team will be there to explain what the community needs are, as projects can vary week-to-week, and are there every step of the way to teach and assist you.
DAY 8: Transfer to Siem Reap
Today you will be travelling to Siem Reap by local transport from Surin. You will be crossing into Cambodia via the Chong Chom Border Crossing. Here you need to supply your passport, small photograph, and the visa fee in order to cross. From the border to Siem Reap is around 3-3.5 hours in a local car or taxi. On arrival at your accommodation in Siem Reap, you have the evening to explore the area and sample the famous Pub Street restaurants, street food, and bars.
DAY 9: Angkor Wat
An early start this morning to head out to visit one on the seven wonders of the world – Angkor Wat. The journey will consist of exploring the famous temples by Tuk Tuk and on foot as you walk through the ruins and temple sites. You will arrive back at the accommodation in the afternoon/early evening for your final night in Siem Reap.
DAY 10: Transfer to Surin
Head out of Siem Reap today and back to Surin. Once in Surin you have free time in the evening.
DAY 11,12 & 13: Elephant Village
This week will begin with an early transfer to the Elephant Village. Once you arrive, our local team and will give you a tour of the homestay and the facilities, introduce you to the resident elephants**, explain the schedule for the week, and get you settled in. Day-to-day activities will vary depending on the village schedule and weather, but our team are on hand to assist you. During your stay you will get to help cook meals, spend time with the elephants, visit the markets, and relax in hammocks during your free time.
DAY 14: Elephant Village & Transfer to Pak Chong
You have one final morning in the Elephant Village today, then its time to pack up your things and transfer by train to Pak Chong, home of Khai Yai National Park. The train journey will take around 5 hours to arrive in Pak Chong, and from here you will stay in accommodation in the town. Have an evening out exploring, and get some rest ready for you trek tomorrow!
DAY 15: Khao Yai National Park
Explore the beautiful forests of Khao Yai National Park today with a local guide, with an abundance of wildlife and waterfalls to see from the trail. Once you are done exploring, head back to the accommodation for the evening.
DAY 16/17: Transfer to Bangkok and Koh Tao
Transfer back to Bangkok today for a final afternoon, before your transfer to the South of Thailand later in the evening. You will be taking an overnight coach down to Chumpon, and from here jumping on a ferry over to Koh Tao. The resort will pick you up from the pier and transfer you over to your accommodation. As you arrive on the island in the morning, you have the whole day free to take in your surroundings and explore the island.
DAY 18,19 & 20: Free Time
These next few days are self-lead and all your own to explore the island during the day, and experience its nightlife. Koh Tao is famous for its white sand beaches to relax on, yoga and wellness retreats, Muay Thai gyms, scuba diving courses, and its world-famous Pub Crawl.
DAY 21: Snorkelling Trip
Today is your snorkeling trip to nearby islands. Our team will have given you your tickets and meeting time in advance to meet the snorkeling team, ready to head out for the day exploring the Koh Nang Yuan viewpoint, beaches, and top snorkeling spots.
DAY 22: Transfer to Koh Phangan
Say goodbye to Koh Tao, and head to Koh Phangan by ferry. The journey will be around 1-1.5hrs, and on arrival the resort team will meet you at the pier and get you settled into the area.
DAY 23,24,25,26 & 27: Free Time
Koh Phangan is a bigger island for you to explore this week, with lush mountain viewpoints, waterfalls, Moon Parties, and beautiful beaches nearby for you to relax on. All transfers and activities on the island are non- inclusive but are able to book through your resort.
DAY 28: Transfer to Bangkok
You will be heading back to Bangkok by ferry and coach today, and arriving in Bangkok at around 10pm, ready for your final evening.
DAY 29: End
A final breakfast, and onto your next adventure!
