Tour Overview

Think of Italy and a host of images comes to mind... the glories of Rome, taking shape in the now silent roars of the Colosseum, priceless works of art by Michelangelo and other famed Italian artists whose masterpieces eternally evoke awe in Europe's greatest museums...

Discover bella Italia on one of Tauck's most popular journeys... in scenic Tuscan hill towns, centuries-old cities and countryside villages, and along the Amalfi Coast… in the treasures of Florence, coloring an era of enlightenment with a rich palette of paintings and architecture by Renaissance luminaries like da Vinci, Botticelli and Brunelleschi... along saltwater roads in Venice lined with magnificent palaces frozen in time... in sun-dappled Tuscan villages, medieval icons reigning over vineyard-draped landscapes that produce wines and foods that are regionally inspired, locally flavored and ultimately delizioso... and on an after-hours guided visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel for an extraordinary look at ageless masterpieces – without the crowds – during a three-night stay in the Eternal City...

Highlights

  • TAUCK'S YELLOW ROADS – Encounter spectacular scenery around every bend on a drive along the celebrated Amalfi Coast – the perfect blending of earth, sea and sky

Classic Italy 9.17.18 - Fantastico!

08-Oct-2018

Just returned from our first Tauck tour, Classic Italy. It was wonderful from beginning to end, and we felt like we really experienced so much of Italy. Tauck has this down to a science. Our excellent Tour Director kept everything organized, on schedule, and fostered relationships between all of us on the tour, making for an amazing trip. So many memorable moments, but our boat ride along the Cinque Terre coastline, in the warm sunshine with sparkling blue water and breathtaking scenery - that just couldn't be beat.

Classic Italy: food, art and WOW

09-Oct-2017

I liked the building up of History as we moved north through Italy. Every day was full of beautiful views, great food, perfect accommodations and LOCAL tour guides that can't be beat. The days flew by....we need to return. This was my first time in Pompeii and I was so aware of the town that once stood there. I've visited Venice before but never on a water taxi at 7:00 for a tour of the city! WOW Sistene Chapel at night can't be beat and any moment in Florence is forever etched in my brain.

Every day was a "WOW" day

29-Oct-2017

Simply amazing. At the welcome reception in Sorrento while overlooking the beautiful Mediterranean, our tour director commented on the beautiful view. And then told us "Every day will be a WOW day." And this trip delivered just that. Stress free vacation with all details taken care of. Venice at sunrise. We took a morning boat ride thru the street channels - seeing how everyday Venice looks like. Breathtaking views of this enchanting city.

Italy Was Great

03-Oct-2016

We loved every place we visited in Italy. The hotels were amazing and the food was great. We particularly liked Florence and Venice. The afterhours tour of the Sistine Chapel was wonderful. We didn't have to fight the daily crowds. The best part was the private tour of the Sistine Chapel.

Classic Italy..small group

10-Aug-2015

Loved this 2 week tour with a small group. We saw all of the highlights of big cities and Tuscany. Free time in Florence....all of the great meals....not standing in long lines at the exhibits.

Trip of a lifetime

12-Sep-2016

This was our 3rd Tauck tour. Each one gets better. Our tour director was fabulous! The hotels were top notch! Food was fantastic! Everyone on the trip got along great. We have had numerous mini reunions with more than half the tour participating. Loved each city we visited. Pace was excellent. Some early mornings. Seeing the Vatican, seeing the Sistine chapel, seeing the David, Venice!

Small group Classic Italy- Best Group!!Best Guide!!

31-Aug-2015

Toured Italy with 23 well matched and compatible people ranging in age from 17-83. Felt very comfortable and easy eating, walking, or sitting beside any of them.. Our Tour Guide was equally compatible and easy to be with! What she didn't know about Italy- obviously hasn't been experienced yet!! Somewhere between touring St Peter's Basilica and riding along the Grand Canal in Venice!

One of the best trips we have taken with Tauck

14-Nov-2017

This trip exceeded my expectations. The hotels where centrally located and excellent. The touring was comprehensive and the local guides excellent. This tour was active but doable. Tauck used great restaurants and there was always enough good wine to go around. I took a coat and tie but never needed it. The Sistine chapel and the Vatican museum after hours tours.

Terrific From Beginning to End

16-Jul-2015

We heard nothing but raves about Tauck Tours from friends and now we understand why. From beginning to end we had a most enjoyable trip. From the handling of luggage, to transportation, to outstanding hotels and memorable sites, it was a trip of a lifetime. We felt we got to see a lot on the trip without being rushed. The pace was reasonable. The boat ride along the coast of Cinque Terre.

Wonderful Classic Italy Small Group

09-Jul-2017

This trip was chosen by our granddaughter as her HS graduation present and was our fifth trip with Tauck but her first. We all agreed that the memories created will last us a lifetime. From the beginning in Sorrento to our final day in Venice we enjoyed every moment and would highly recommend this trip. Our after hours visit to the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel filled us with awe. We will also never forget our guides knocking on the giant doors of the Doge's Palace in Venice and them swinging open just for us! This trip was memorable from start to finish.
