The ultimate of family Canadian Rockies tours begins as you head west through the part of Alberta called Kananaskis Country; it's famous for great scenery, a lot of parks and protected areas, and outdoor adventure opportunities. Prepare to be dazzled when you reach your home for tonight, The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, set on the banks of a sparkling lake deep in Banff National Park - when you look up, all you can see are the mountains that soar... and we mean really soar... above you! Meet your fellow Canadian Rockies explorers at a welcome reception and dinner tonight.

Day 2 : Lake Louise And The Icefields Parkway

Location: Lake Louise, Icefields Parkway

Accommodation: Lodge

Accommodation Name: Fairmont Jasper Park

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner,

An interpretive guided hike along the shores of shimmering Lake Louise is a wonderful way to get up-close-and-personal with Mother Nature as you begin your family's most excellent of Canadian Rockies tours. Neat wildlife, like bald eagles, moose and many other animals, make their homes here. How many different kinds of animals and birds will your family be able to count as you hike through this accessible wilderness in Banff National Park together? This afternoon, set off on a memorable ride along a world-famous stretch of highway – western Canada's Icefields Parkway - surrounded by mountains, glaciers and snowfields as far as the eye can see! And keep that eye peeled for glimpses of mountain goats, bighorn sheep, deer and other wildlife all the way to The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, your spectacular lakefront resort in the middle of Jasper National Park, for a three-night stay.

Day 3 : Maligne Canyon Hike

Location: Jasper National Park

Accommodation: Lodge

Accommodation Name: Fairmont Jasper Park

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner,

Start off the morning with a guided hike (with a choice of activity level) in Maligne Canyon in Jasper National Park, created more than 150 million years ago! One of the most spectacular gorges in the Canadian Rockies, the views way down deep between its steep, smooth canyon walls are memorable. Each bridge you cross brings something new – from lush plant life and ancient fossils to mysterious potholes and cascading waterfalls. Follow your hike with lunch at Maligne Canyon's Wilderness Kitchen. After returning to your lodge, join a Parks Canada official for a fun and informative talk about the region. Then spend the rest of the day just as you please in the wilderness wonderland of Jasper National Park, at your inside-the-park resort set in the magnificent Rocky Mountains. Best of all, you'll receive a free Summer Resort Activities Card* to use for fun things like a free hour of bicycle rental, a boat for an hour, one hour of tennis court and racket rental, or a bucket of balls and club rental at the golf driving range; your card is good for the entire time you're staying at Jasper. Maybe you and your family will go off in search of the wildlife that calls the area home or play in the swimming pool... or perhaps engage in other optional activities (available at an additional charge) like golf or horseback riding. It's up to you! Join us tonight for a private lakeside barbecue at your lodge!

Day 4 : Athabasca River Rafting

Location: Jasper National Park

Accommodation: Lodge

Accommodation Name: Fairmont Jasper Park

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner,

This morning, your family boards a rubber boat for a wet and wild rafting trip* down the mighty, glacier-fed Athabasca River, encountering both calm waters and "whitewater" along the way as you float through some amazing scenery. Then return to your lodge in Jasper National Park and spend the rest of the afternoon as you wish, perhaps using your free Summer Resort Activities Card* for more included family fun, or engaging in other optional activities available at the lodge for an additional charge. Enjoy dinner at the lodge at your leisure this evening.

Day 5 : Ride An Ice Explorer On A Glacier

Location: Banff

Accommodation: Hotel

Accommodation Name: Fairmont Banff Springs

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner,

Get set for something really cool as you board a specially designed Ice Explorer for an unforgettable ride atop the Athabasca Glacier in the middle of the Columbia Icefields, among the largest accumulations of ice and snow south of the Arctic Circle... some of the glacier's ice began as snow more than 400 years ago! Before you set off, look up – the people and Ice Explorers you see in the distance might look like ants and toy vehicles. Later... when you're on one... you get the picture of how incredible it is to be on the glacier! After lunch, keep a lookout for mountain goats, bighorn sheep, elk, eagles, hawks and other wildlife as you drive along the Icefields Parkway again this afternoon, through spectacular Canadian Rockies scenery. Arrive at your historic "castle in the mountains" – The Fairmont Banff Springs Resort – to begin a two-night stay in the heart of Banff National Park; spend the rest of the day and evening as you please, enjoying dinner at the resort tonight.

Day 6 : Canadian Bowling & Sulphur Mountain

Location: Banff

Accommodation: Hotel

Accommodation Name: Fairmont Banff Springs

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner,

The entire day is yours to enjoy Banff National Park and / or the chic alpine resort town of Banff itself, with its galleries, museums and shops, just as you please. We've included a Banff Heritage Passport to use in town, good for admission to the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies – featuring collections of local art, historic exhibits, and seven restored early Banff cabins and homes – and the Buffalo Nations Luxton Museum, dedicated to the appreciation, interpretation, demonstration and display of the cultures, traditions, and values of the First Nations of North America and their trading partners. Or you can choose to stay at your resort and swim, rent mountain bikes* or canoes*, pamper yourself at the Willow Stream Spa or get in a round of golf (both available at an additional charge), or just follow your nose to spot wildlife. Join us late this afternoon for a special farewell reception and bowling party – featuring Canadian-style five-pin bowling – at the Banff Bowling Centre. Then, you and your family will ride up to the "top of the world" on the Banff Gondola for amazing evening views from your gondola car en route to a mountaintop farewell dinner at the Northern Lights restaurant at the summit of Sulphur Mountain! Here, you'll have a bird's-eye view of six mountain ranges and the Bow Valley… and can take in the state-of-the-art Banff interpretive center atop the mountain.

Wonders of Canadian Rockies

23-Jul-2017

About the third day our family looked at each other and said this is the best trip we have ever taken. Each day after it got better and better. Our guide brought us all together as family. Each day was planned to perfection. If you have a chance take this trip. You won't be disappointed. Too many to pick one

First Canada Family Trip

23-Jul-2015

Our tour guide and driver made our trip extremely enjoyable. Lodging was clean & comfortable. Food was plentiful. Excursions enjoyable at all ages. Our kids had fun with the other kids on the tour. We used another tour company last year but we are using Tauck Bridges tours from now on. Thank you for the wonderful memories!! Climbing to and exploring the Athabasca Glacier was quite an adventure. Brrrr, Chilly!!! The kids enjoyed drinking the natural water & making small snow sculptures.

Gorgeous Rockies - Breathtaking Trip

18-Sep-2015

We took the Wonders of the Canadian Rockies trip (with Kait as our guide). It was absolutely incredible. I've never been anywhere more beautiful. Lake Louise was breathtaking, Jasper Park Lodge was idyllic with perfect activities for the kids. Banff - darling town and most beautiful mountains. We are coming back! Being at the top of the gondola in Banff. My husband and I were almost speechless, and even our kids realized this was a once-in-a-lifetime view.

Canadian Rockies fame'

20-Jul-2017

My daughter-in-law rated it the most relaxing family trip she's ever had. That says a lot to me! All generations had a great time and the planned activities were a hoot as well as educational. A great time for all. The delight in the kids eyes when they were told we would go horseback riding on our free afternoon.

Wonders of the Canadian Rockies

12-Aug-2016

On one motorcoach ride, Quinn, my 13 yr old grandson from IL was talking with two other boys. One of the boys was age 14 from AL and the other was age 11 from TX. One was explaining competing in rodeo events, another karate events and another hockey competition. They were bridging states, sports and each learning about kids lives. Way Cool for this grandmother:) Whitewater Rafting & Amazing Race in Banff.

5* from the grand-children!

30-Aug-2017

Wonderful itinerary, fantastic guide and a fun-loving group of travelers. Great family adventure in such a scenic place and the girls (10&12) made many new friends and lasting memories. I had to deduct a star for the dreadful farewell dinner in Banff, otherwise the trip was well organized and exceeded expectations. Rafting in Jasper and watching the girls form special bonds with new friends. All activities were fun and well organized. The guide for the lake walk In Lake Louise was exceptional, the girls are still singing her 'There are 2 types of Bears' rendition. Smokey skies and limited visibility due to B.C. fires only put a slight damper on things.

The wonders of Tauck

13-Aug-2015

This is the 2nd Tauck trip I have taken with 3 grandchildren...no parents. The Canadian Rockies this year and the Painted Canyon's last year are truly sites to behold and memories to be made. The guides in both were outstanding and the places we stayed in were first class!I wouldn't think of going with another tour group when traveling with them. At the end of the trip, they all said "where are we going next year". My 16 year old granddaughter and her cousins, boys that are 11 and 13...want to be together and with me! How awesome is that!

Least memorable farewell dinner

06-Jul-2017

This was the first Tauck Bridges trip. Each member of our family found something special and memorable from the scenery, which is magnificent, to the varied and fun activities. This was tour # 15 for me and my husband. Unfortunately, the farewell dinner was held in the last hotel and it was a very unpleasant end to the trip. The way the whole group bonded over the Canadian duck pin bowling!
