Day 1 : Jakarta
Location: Jakarta
Meet your Adventure Leader and the rest of the group in the hostel’s roof top bar, in the afternoon, and listen to a trip briefing whilst gazing out across the city.
We’ll wander over to the nearby National Monument which offers sweeping views of this metropolis.
Day 2 : Bogor
Location: Bogor, West Java, Indonesia
We’ll begin our journey with a visit to the Cikananga Wildlife Centre.
This is a very special conservation project not usually open to the public which helps rehabilitate animals that are rescued from the illegal pet trade. You will have the opportunity to see orangutans, leopards and many other animals, and help the staff prepare food and activities for them, such as bamboo tubes filled with honey, which the bears love!
After a full day at the conservation centre, you will depart by private transfer to Bogor. Upon arrival, you will experience typical Indonesian home-life as you stay with a local family who will be hosting you for the night.
Day 3 : Bogor & Yogyakarta
Location: Bogor, Yogyakarta
In the morning, embark on a nature walk led by a former animal smuggler, who has changed his life’s direction, and now focuses on animal conservation. Notice the incredible skill he has for spotting animals in the wild!
After the walk, you will enjoy a brunch provided by your homestay family, where you can enjoy authentically cooked Indonesian dishes.
Then you will be transferred to Jakarta airport, where you’ll catch a flight to Yogyakarta. When you arrive, you will head to the hostel and check in.
Afterwards, you can visit a mosque for a discussion with an Imam, an Islamic preacher. Feel free to ask any questions you have about Islam, the religion practiced by 90% of Indonesia’s people. On your return to the hostel, why not join in the fun at Alun Alun Kidal Square?
Day 4 : Yogyakarta
Location: Yogyakarta
Today is a full-day trip to Borobudur, the world’s largest Buddhist Temple. This temple dates from the 8th and 9th centuries and is located in central Java. It was built in three tiers: a pyramidal base with five concentric square terraces, the trunk of a cone with three circular platforms and, at the top, a monumental stupa. The monument was restored with UNESCO’s help in the 1970s.
You will also get the opportunity to visit the Prambanan & Ploasan Temples.
Day 5 : Mount Bromo
Location: Mount Bromo
This morning we visit the Water Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site comprised of gardens and bathing complex of the ruling family. Here, you can taste the unique ‘kopi luwak’ coffee and enjoy the surroundings.
We’ll then head over to Mount Bromo- an area of outstanding natural beauty – on arrival- relax, take in the surroundings and get ready for an early start!
Day 6 : Mount Bromo & Mount Ijen
Location: Mount Bromo, Ijen
Start the day bright and early and we take a four-wheel drive will take you to the ‘sea of sand’ from where you can hike up to the edge of the volcano crater for very impressive views. From this point, you will also be driven to another spectacular viewpoint to see the volcanoes.
You will then fill up on a local breakfast and head to the Madakaripura Waterfall, the biggest waterfall in East Java! Here, we will have a lunch break and relax before heading to the charming small fishing village of Pemuteran on the Northern Coast of Bali.
Day 7 : Banyuwangi & Pemuteran
Location: Pemuteran
If you’re up for another early start, this morning (although it’s still technically night-time) you’ve got the option to take part in another night-hike to the Ljen Volcano, where you can spot the famous ‘Blue Crater’. You’ll see an incredibly rare phenomenon from inside the crater – fire which appears to be blue! If one volcano was enough for your, however, you’re welcome to have a lie-in at the hotel.
At arround midday, you’ll bid farewell as you prepare to transfer to the stunning region on everyone’s bucket list – Bali! You’ll cross by ferry, arriving at Pemuteran, a small fishing village on the northern coast, in the afternoon. Once you’ve checked into your accommodation, you’ve then got another free evening to explore the area at your leisure.
Day 8 : Pemuteran & Canggu
Location: Canggu
You’re waking up in paradise today! If you’re in the mood for some adventure, this morning you have the option of boarding a boat to Menjangan Island, where you can snorkel around some of the best coral in the region. You can also swim over the Biorock Project, where you can learn more about conservation at the world’s largest coral planting project.
If you’re opting for a more relaxed day, spend your morning catching some rays on the beach a few minutes’ walk from your hostel.
Once you’re all back together, you’ll transfer to Canggu, where you’ll check into your next accommodation. This evening, if you fancy something livelier, why not visit Old Man’s Beach and Echo Beach? They’re two large beach clubs in the area where it’s always party time!
Day 9 : Ubud
Location: Ubud
In the late morning, you’ll transfer to Ubud – a peaceful backpackers’ paradise, surrounded by rolling rice paddies and lush tropical forests. Once you’ve settled, you’ll join back with your group for a walking tour around Ubud centre. You’ll see the Monkey Forest, Kajeng Rice Field, and Ubud Market – among many other things.
This evening, you have the option of joining us for the enjoy the Ubud Fire Kecak Dance. Soundtracked by a chanting chorus, this amazing dance dramatises the Ramayana Saga.
Day 10 : Ubud
Location: Ubud
Rise and shine! You’ll start your day with a truly unmissable yoga class in a stunning space – ensuring your day gets off to a relaxing start.
After that, you’ve got the option of joining us for us a tour of the highlights that surround Ubud – the cultural capital of Bali. You’ll swim at the Tukad Cepung Waterfall and admire the views of the sun shining through the cascading waters, visit Pengelipuran Village – known and as one of the world’s cleanest villages – and head to Kintamani to admire the views of Lake Batur and the volcano. You’ll see Pura Tirta Empal, a spring for holy water, and also explore the famous Tegallang rice fields.
Or, if you’d rather, you can opt to explore under your own steam. The village is beautiful and is surrounded by scenic spots – so if you’re looking to explore independently, ask your Adventure Leader for some highlights to visit.
In the evening, you can head to a rooftop bar, where you can have a drink as you look over the lush rice paddies while the sun sets.
Day 11 : Gili Trawangan
Location: Gili Trawangan
This morning, you’re off to paradise itself – Gili Trawangan. Head to the Padangbai Ferry Port, where you’ll board a boat to arrive at Gili Trawangan by the mid-morning. You’ll meet your guide and check into your new accommodation.
Then, in the afternoon you’ll go biking around this beautiful island to orient yourself. But never fear! Bring your swimsuits because there’ll be plenty of opportunities to stop and take a dip in the crystal clear waters along the way.
Then this evening, you can opt to join your group for a fun night out at the Sama Sama Reggae Bar.
Day 12 : Gili Trawangan
Location: Gili Trawangan
After a slower start to the morning, you have the option of joining an incredible half-day snorkelling tour around the three Gili Islands. Alongside beautiful coral reefs, you’ll spot schools and schools of native fish – and if you’re lucky, maybe even a turtle or two.
Alternatively, you may want a lazy day in heaven. If that’s the case, you can opt to spend your free day relaxing on Gili Trawangan, either exploring at your own leisure or simply catching some rays (or the occasional wave) on the beach.
Day 13 : Farewell To Paradise
Location: Gili Trawangan
Sadly, your Indonesia adventure tour comes to an end today! You’ll transfer back to Kuta in Bali, ready to catch a flight and head home.
However, if you’re not ready for the trip to end, we can offer an additional three days in Gili Trawangan, where you’ll take a PADI course that will get you certified in scuba diving!

Majority of our clients are solo travellers and our prices are based on sharing in dorm style rooms. We do offer single room upgrades for those who do not wish to share a room.

However, for our tours in Asia, we cannot guarantee same-sex dorm rooms in the hostels we use, particularly during high season, such as the cherry blossom season in Japan. Please rest assured that we do our utmost to accommodate our clients' preferences wherever possible. However, the availability of same-sex dorm rooms ultimately depends on the policies of the hostels we work with. In some cases, different genders may be allocated to the same room due to limited availability.
