Tour Overview
We begin this cruise-and-stay holiday with three nights at one of Europe’s most beautiful natural sights - Slovenia’s enchanting Lake Bled. Take a memorable trip on the lake and visit the compact capital, Ljubljana. In Venice we’ll join our boutique cruise ship to explore the Dalmatian coastline, with highlights that include the beauty of Kotor and the UNESCO-listed walled city of Dubrovnik. Visits to Sicily, with the opportunity to see Mount Etna, and Sorrento, to see the archaeological ruins of Pompeii, complement a wonderful journey of discovery.
Highlights
Itinerary
Day 1 : Uk - Ljubljana - Bled, Slovenia
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your flight to Ljubljana. On arrival we transfer to Bled and our lakeside hotel, with lake view rooms.
Day 2 : Bled
This morning, we’ll be taken by traditional Pletna boat to the idyllic island on Lake Bled, home to a lovely church. Your gondolier expertly stands and paddles the boat with two oars as you enjoy beautiful views of Bled’s shoreline.Later this afternoon we’ll head up to Bled’s terracotta-roofed medieval castle, the oldest in Slovenia, where you can learn about local history and traditions. From the towers and ramparts you can also enjoy some of the most stunning views of Lake Bled and the surrounding mountains. Afterwards, perhaps taste the town’s famous cream cake slices in a café.
Day 3 : Ljubljana
Today we make the short journey to Ljubljana, Slovenia’s capital. The city is one of Europe’s smallest capitals but has 2,000 years of history to discover. It’s known for its medieval heritage as well as Renaissance, baroque, and art nouveau buildings and we explore on a guided tour. We’ll complete our visit with a trip on the funicular railway to the castle, for amazing aerial views of the city.
Day 4 : Bled - Venice, Italy
After breakfast, we head towards Venice where we’ll embark our ship, ahead of our sailing this afternoon.
Day 5 : Koper, Slovenia
Even with such sights as the historic Old Town, Praetorian Palace, and the beautiful square of Titov Trg, Koper is also the gateway to an array of intercontinental adventures. Trek through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Skocjan Caves or perhaps cross the border into the Italian coffee capital of Trieste for a cappuccino.
Day 6 : Opatija, Croatia
The charming seaside town of Opatija was once the place to be for the elegant, glamorous elite. One look at the pretty seafront promenade, impressive monuments, well-manicured parks, famous fountains, grand spa hotels, and magnificent Belle Époque villas, and it’s easy to see why. Take a selfie with the ‘Girl with a Seagull’ statue, climb to the top of lush Mount Učka and its landmark stone tower for a truly magnificent panoramic view, or simply soak up this beautiful coastal setting. Ship to shore tender service.
Day 7 : Sibenik
A must-see in the old part of Sibenik is the Cathedral Sveti Jakov, and if you love the great outdoors, then visit Krka National Park. One of the best ways to see Sibenik is to lose yourself in the side streets and alleys that lead to charming shops and squares. Be sure to take a break at one of the city’s many restaurants and enjoy a local red babić paired with some fresh Adriatic seafood.
Day 8 : Dubrovnik
From the moment you step beyond the stone walls that protect Dubrovnik, you’ll understand what makes it so special. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is adorned with charming squares and centuries-old red-roofed buildings. Walk the walls for a spectacular view of the city.
Day 9 : Kotor, Montenegro
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kotor is filled with churches, shops, bars, restaurants, and hidden piazzas. (The latter are perfect for enjoying Montenegrin wines like the red Vranac or dry white Krstač.) The entire city is surrounded by stone, both in the form of imposing Mount Saint John and by towering ancient walls, creating a cosy feeling of protection when you walk the cobblestone streets.
Day 10 : At Sea
Spend the day sailing in style aboard your boutique hotel at sea. Indulge in a treatment at Sanctum Spa, stay shipshape with a class at the fitness centre, or lounge the day away on the sunny pool deck. In the evening, savour inspired Italian cuisine at Aqualina, or relish in a classic steakhouse experience at Prime C Plus, you’ll find plenty of exciting entertainment, from thrilling shows at Cabaret Lounge to intimate performances in the Living Room.
Day 11 : Giardini Naxos, Sicily
For rest and relaxation, Giardini Naxos is just the ticket, with a coast that seems to stretch on for miles. To the left looms Mount Etna, Italy’s largest active volcano. Hikes to the top are only advised for experienced hikers (dress warmly!), but the Silvestri Craters are fun to explore at any skill level. Or head to the hilltop town of Taormina, one of the most beautiful places in all of Sicily. Ship to shore tender service.
Day 12 : Sorrento, Italy
Looking out from Sorrento is the isle of Capri. The island is divided into two main parts, Capri and Anacapri. Capri is full of Italian luxury, with designer stores and five-star hotels lining the streets, while Anacapri is slightly more down-to-earth. Take a relaxing chair lift ride to the very top of the island, as the views are jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Ship to shore tender service.
Day 13 : Civitavecchia - Rome - Uk
We disembark and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. On arrival, your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
